Monday, January 21, 2019 (S56E198): Another Victim

“Kevin” steps in the door of Lulu’s office; she thanks him for coming to meet with her.  He tells her it is his pleasure.  She asks him if he remembers how many people Ryan killed; he immediately says “nine.”  She looks confused; she asks why the reports only indicate seven… he says the other murders were never confirmed.  She starts reading off the names listed in the police report; “Kevin” starts repeating them with her.  She strangely thinks nothing of the fact that he knows the names of all the victims so well; he says two names that are not on the report. She asks if Ryan confessed to killing these other people to him – and if so, why he never told the police.  He says it would have just been hearsay, coming from him.  He steps forward and sees her wallet on the desk; he opens it and takes out her driver’s license (practically in front of her face).  He sticks it in his pocket; he pulls out the pocket-knife and gets it ready, all while Lulu pays no attention.  He tells her she is blind; he says the answer is standing right in front of her… literally, right in front of her, and she doesn’t even see it.  He stabs her.  He sits down to clean off his knife; she stands up, leaving a bloody handprint on her desk.  He sees her and shakes his head; “now I have to do it all over again,” he says.  He starts walking toward Lulu, gets a sudden headache, and passes out on the floor.  Lulu staggers past him and out the door.

Laura wonders why Lulu is late getting to the book signing; she picks up her phone to call.  Just at that moment, Lulu stumbles off of the elevator.  She walks over to her mother, and falls on the floor.  Carly calls for an ambulance; Lucy and Ava sit and talk about Kevin… Lucy tells Ava she could never know him as well as she does; she says he could never be with someone like her because he would never hurt anyone, or support anyone who does.  “Kevin” wakes up, gets to his feet and realizes he can’t see; he feels his way out into the hallway and to the elevator door.  He pushes the button and gets on when the doors open.

Lulu is taken to surgery immediately; they tell Laura that they don’t know if she will make it.  When “Kevin” steps out of the elevator, Ava sees him; he tells her he cannot see… she takes him to the hospital.  He is taken to a room; he asks her to go check on Lulu, claiming he heard she had been stabbed.  He says, he would hate for Laura to suffer the same thing Ava had to by losing her daughter; he says he would feel better to know she was going to make it.  Ava says she is the last person Laura would want to talk to about her daughter; he asks her to go anyway.  She does.Jordan and Curtis go to check out Lulu’s office; they find a bloody footprint outside of the door, and the knife on the floor.  They say the killer is starting to make mistakes; all they have to do is find that shoe and they have found the killer.  “Kevin’s” shoes are in a hospital bag on the bed next to him; Ava offers to take them home and bring him some slippers.  He thanks her; she takes the bag and leaves.

Friday, January 18, 2019 (S56E197): Lucy’s Book Launch

Valentin continues to pressure Nina to marry him again; Maxie says it’s time to get things started.  Nina and Maxie introduce Lucy and her new book about Port Charles and its residents; Lucy comes out, with security guards standing next to her.  She explains that it is because of the recent murders, which she relates to the Ryan Chamberlain murders of the past and mentions that it is all in her book.  Lulu talks with her mother; she says she is finishing up her story.  They talk about the list Ryan Chamberlain made of all his victims; Laura mentions seeing a similar list on Kevin’s desk… she says he told her he made it to remember the victims, but Felicia was listed as number 10.  “Kevin” told her he saw her as a victim of Ryan’s, even though she wasn’t killed; Laura leaves to go to the book launch.

Peter tells Mac he realizes why Maxie is so important to them, after hearing Lucy read a passage from her book about Maxie’s heart transplant.  Laura is surprised to learn that the book is not only about Port Charles, but also the people that inhabit it.  Lulu talks to Dante and finds out he is going to be gone even longer, and, in addition, will be out of touch for a while.  She recalls her mother’s words about the list on Kevin’s desk.  Lucy asks Felicia if she is mad at her; Felicia can’t believe she doesn’t understand why.  She says she didn’t really want to relive all of these memories tonight, but they make up; Lucy asks Felicia who Kevin is seeing now.  She shouts, “no way” as Ava walks in; she tells Ava there is something she needs to know about “Doc.”

Carly tells Sonny that they need to really face what is happening with his dad; she says this wasn’t just a bad day.  She suggests that they seek professional help.  “Kevin” waits for Sonny and Carly to come meet with him; Ava comes in and says she wants to stay, but he insists she leave.  He tells her he can, and will, do anything for her; she leaves.  Sonny isn’t happy about going to see Kevin, but Carly says they need to deal with this.  When they get there, “Kevin” locks the door behind them; he tells them it’s just habit.  They sit down and Carly starts talking about Sonny’s feeling of obligation to his dad; Sonny defends it.  “Kevin” says he thinks this is about Morgan, the son he couldn’t save; he says Sonny wants to keep his father close in a way he couldn’t with Morgan.  Sonny and Carly think that seems to make sense; he suggests they talk to Morgan more… saying, it will give them a better sense of how to talk to Mike, who isn’t really here anymore either.  They thank him for the talk and leave; he picks up a switchblade from his desk and says (to himself) they shouldn’t need his advice in the future.

Maxie apologizes to Peter, saying she didn’t know Lucy would be dredging up all that stuff about his father.  He gets a call from Lulu; she says she has new information about the connection between Ryan Chamberlain and the recent murders.  He tells her to drop that and just get to the signing; she says okay.  Lulu calls “Kevin” and leaves a message; she says she wants to talk to him about the list on his desk, naming nine victims instead of seven.  “Kevin” goes to see Lulu at the office; he says he was going to the party, but his plans changed.  Maxie apologizes to her mom for not paying more attention to the contents of the book before arranging the party; Felicia says its okay.  She tells Maxie to focus on what she wants; Maxie says she needs to leave.

Kristina comes into Charlie’s and finds her mother and Sam; Sam sits her down and tells her about her connection to Henry Archer, Shilo’s father, and their concern that this man might be using Kristina to get back at her.  Sonny tells Jason to stay on top of this guy.  Kristina offers Sam a brochure for one of Dawn of Day’s seminars and leaves.  Sam says attending one of Shilo’s seminars might be a good way to let him know they are watching him.

Carly finds Franco going through Kevin’s office; she is shocked when Franco tells her that “Kevin” told him he didn’t want to treat him anymore.  She tells Franco he isn’t the only one; she says he is doing it to everyone.  She asks Franco about his time teaching art therapy at Ferncliff, and if he ever heard of a Wilson Ritter.  He says no; he also says he never heard of him in all his research about death.  Carly says there is something fishy about all of this; Franco says maybe the answers are in “this box” – holding up the safe.  Carly tells him to put it back and says she will ask Kevin when he gets back there; she says Franco should probably just listen to Kevin and find another therapist.  Franco says he doesn’t want another one; he isn’t going to open that vein in front of someone new… he adds that he finds it really weird that his file isn’t there.  He leaves; Carly starts straightening up Kevin’s files.

“Kevin” does his best to persuade Ava to leave town with him; promising her a new art gallery of her own anywhere in the world.  She says she could never leave Avery though; he suggests they take Avery with them.  She says that wouldn’t be possible because of Sonny and Carly. Nina gets mad at Obrecht for saying anything about her daughter; Nina brings up Britt’s betrayal and says her daughter would never do that to her.  Obrecht says she doesn’t know that; she tells her to keep her eyes open, and makes a comparison to Faison, which upsets Nina even more.  But Obrecht points out all Valentin is done and asks how he is any different that Faison.  Curtis is surprised when Valentin tells him he and Nina are back together again; he asks if finding her daughter was the key.  Valentin says it didn’t hurt.  As Valentin and Obrecht discuss their differences outside of the office door, Nina calls Sasha and tells her she would still love to go to Paris with her.  She agrees to go for two weeks together; Valentin doesn’t seem happy about that when Nina tells him.  He claims Charlotte needs her right now.  She agrees to postpone.

Ava is wandering around on the docks; Franco surprises her, just as she is pulling a gun out of her pocket.  As they talk, “Kevin” appears; he does his best to talk Ava into not doing whatever she is thinking about doing.  Franco is shocked when “Kevin” tells him that he thinks they should stop working together and recommends that he find another psychologist.  Franco gets mad and leaves; he is surprised when a new girl says she is Kevin’s assistant… he fired Janet.  Franco breaks into Kevin’s office. While shuffling through things, he finds the safe, where Ryan is keeping all of his victims driver’s licenses.  “Kevin” assures Ava everything will be okay.  He tells Ava the two of them should leave Port Charles for good.

Sonny goes to the chapel, where he finds Griffin sitting; Griffin says he hopes God listens to Sonny because he sure doesn’t listen to him anymore.  He does his best to convince Griffin that Kiki wouldn’t want him blaming himself.  Sonny then sees Drew and Kim, and offers his plane if they want to take Oscar somewhere else for treatment.  They thank him but tell him there is just nothing else to do.  Obrecht interrupts Nina and Valentin in an embrace; she tricks Valentin into giving her a job at Crimson.  He leaves.  Obrecht tries to warn Nina about Valentin; she says she can’t trust him…she tells her to proceed with caution and is upset when Nina tells her that she has moved back into Wyndemere.  Peter tells Valentin to stay away from Anna, and warns Valentin that whatever Obrecht has on him, she will use, sooner or later.  Nina tries to persuade Leisel by mentioning her daughter, who was found by Valentin; Obrecht stops arguing and has a drink of water.  She tells Nina there are few things she needs to know about her daughter.  Griffin comes in with the test results and tells Anna there was some kind of hemorrhage; he tells her they cannot be certain that they can restore her vision.

Thursday, January 10, 2019 (S56E191): Results Are In

Maxie goes to pick up Lulu for the victory party; Peter knocks on the door.  Lulu asked to see him; she tells Maxie it’s confidential and says she will meet her at The Floating Rib.  She tells him they need to talk about murder.  Anna tells Finn they need to go to the celebration; they run into “Kevin” rushing down the hallway.  He apologizes, saying he was staring at his phone.

As Sam and Jason talk on the docks, Shilo appears… he asks them to come with them, saying they might be able to help him with something.  He shows them a homeless man, who doesn’t want to move.  Sam talks him into going to the shelter.  Shilo thanks them for their help; Sam tells Jason she still doesn’t trust him.

Wednesday, January 9, 2019 (S56E190): The Signature of a Killer

Sonny asks Lulu if she knows when Dante is coming home.  Lulu says she spoke with him on New Year’s Eve, but knows nothing.  She admits that she avoided even telling him about “the whole serial killer thing.”  Sonny offers protection, but she says she doesn’t want to be tripping over security guards.  She admits that she hasn’t told him about the killer; she doesn’t want to worry him for no reason.  He tells her next time she talks to him, she needs to tell him it’s time to come home.  He hugs her and leaves.

Jordan fills Margaux in on the connection they have made; Jordan calls the former commissioner, John Donnelly.  They find out that John doesn’t remember what happened yesterday, let alone twenty-five years ago.  They talk to Mac; he is concerned for Felicia’s safety.  He says he may be able to help them, but he needs to make a phone call.  He says his contact didn’t have the information he had hoped; he says Ryan didn’t talk to any of the other inmates at Ferncliff.  Ned and Olivia watch their interview with Lulu on television; Olivia thanks both Ned and Laura for restoring integrity and civil discourse to politics in Port Charles.  Ned suggests they binge watch a show instead of watching the election results; she confesses that she isn’t really sure she wants him to win.  She is concerned for his safety she says; then admits may she just wants to quit while they are ahead.

Tuesday, January 8, 2019 (S56E189): Oscar Receives Tough News

Franco apologizes to Liz for showing up late; they are getting ready for his hearing.  He tells her Kim told him the clinical trial didn’t work; she says the only lesson she can take from this is that you have to be grateful for the present moments.  Cam is happy when he sees Oscar getting ready to go home.  For some reason, Oscar doesn’t tell him the trial didn’t work.  He asks him what’s up with the suit; Cam admits he was busted buying weed.  Kim makes some desperate calls.  Alexis comes to see her; she says she wants to set the record straight.  Kim says she doesn’t care who Julian slept with and asks Alexis to leave.  She says she doesn’t care about her and Julian; Alexis says this isn’t about them, but Kim won’t let her explain.  Alexis apologizes, saying it was wrong on her part; she was trying to help her make sense of it.  Kim cries, “nothing makes sense, and none of it has anything to do with” her or Julian.  She starts blaming herself, for making the wrong decision; she regrets having him cooped up in the hospital over Christmas.  Sam tells Drew she needs to talk to him about Shilo and… about her connection to, Hank Archer.  She tells him she feels like she is being set up.  Carly gets back from the polls; she tells Jos the lines were outrageous.  Jos tells Carly she needs Sonny’s jet, some money and his connections.  Cam shows up to court; Alexis tells him they will be fine, as long as they don’t get Judge Carson (she’s a real hard nose, Alexis tells him).  The bailiff comes in and announces, the Honorable Judge Naomi Carson.

He tells her for the greater good of the community, he promises to keep an eye on whatever happens at Ferncliff.  She notices him wrapping the lace around his fingers, and warns that he is cutting off his circulation; he tells her it’s a new nervous habit.  Just as he is getting ready to make his move, Scotty interrupts them.  Scotty tells them that all the interview footage from the dead producer’s office is missing; he says they think that is evidence that this copy-cat is going to make a mistake soon and they will send him away for life.  He says, even if they don’t catch him, karma will get him; he mentions his step-mother Gail, saying she always used to say “what comes around, goes around.”  He then tells Laura that Gail died.

Alexis shows up at Sam’s to visit with Kristina; Sam tells her she moved out… and in with Daisy and some of her friends.  Alexis says okay, “good for her.”  Sam doesn’t understand her reaction; Alexis says they were very nice to Oscar and Kristina is an adult, capable of making her own decisions.  Then she says, “fake it, till you make it.”  She smiles.  She asked when this change came about; and calmly thanks Jason for also being there to look out for Kristina; she leaves.  Sam and Jason are still not sure about it; they sit down and try to figure out why Hank had to reinvent himself into Shilo.  D. H. Archer, filed documents for incorporation as a person growth marketing platform; Sam says that’s the only surviving child of one of her former ‘husbands.’  Jason starts asking questions; she says the son knew she was a gold-digging tramp who only wanted his father’s money.  Jason says too many people they love are in this guys orbit.  Sam draws a graph of all the connections.  She’s in the middle, as Linda Black.  She started getting the emails right when Kristina moved in with this group.

Kim is nervous about taking Oscar home; she is grateful for Joslyn’s love for him. His doctor agrees, love is important, and it helps; Kim says “yes, it does.”  She tells Kim Oscar’s test results are in; it’s time to call Drew.  Drew confronts Julian for dumping Kim the way he has; Julian says at least they both agree the relationship is over.  Julian stands his ground.   He tells Drew he slept with someone else in retaliation for their New Year’s kiss.  Drew tells him he never deserved Kim; he gets a text from her and leaves.  Alexis asks Julian why he just lied to Drew.  She calls his explanation “whimpy.”  She also gets him to admit that the person he slept with doesn’t exist.  The doctor tells Kim and Drew that the treatment failed; there has been no shrinkage of the tumor, in fact, it has grown.  Kim starts to cry, realizing that Oscar is still going to die.  Terrie apologizes; they thank her anyway.  She gives the two of them privacy; Drew says they knew it was a long-shot.  They wonder how they are going to tell Oscar.  She wants to wait to tell him again; Drew reminds her they promised they would be honest with him.  Oscar knows something is wrong as soon as his parents walk in; they ask Jos to leave, but Oscar says no… “Jos is with me.”  They break the news, but we don’t hear… we only see Oscar’s stunned reaction.

Jordan and Curtis try to go over the evidence; Jordan says they need a breakthrough.  Jordan says she doesn’t know where to even begin; Curtis says it begins with them… Jordan has made a list of names.  They both say Laura Collins jumps out at them, she was in all locations, although they know she isn’t the murderer, they think she might know them and not even realize it.  She says this killer is proud of his work and wants to display it; they review what the cases have in common… Jordan mentions Ryan Chamberlain.  She brings up another case, where it seemed like one thing, but was actually another.  She gets a call; not a single trace of the documentary was found.  They realize this killer is competing with Ryan Chamberlain’s murders.  They make a connection; he took all of his victims’ drivers’ licenses twenty-five years ago, just like this killer is doing.

Maxie learns that Chase is teaching a self-defense class at the gym; she invites Nina to go with her.  Elizabeth shows up; then Lulu, then Willow.  Neither Lulu nor Nina look happy to see her.  They make small talk though; Nina questions why Maxie is being so nice to her.  She is confused about why Nina doesn’t like the girl; Lulu says she is great, she says, which Nina mocks.  When Nina and Willow start going at it over Charlotte, Maxie suggests they get the class started.  Chase is nervous about teaching it; Maxie cheers him on.  He tells everyone they are living in dangerous times and thanks them for coming.  Nina and Lulu start to fight; they are interrupting Chase.  Maxie tries to tell him to quit; Chase calls Willow up for a demonstration.  She thanks him for stopping her from telling that mother where to shove it.

Ned and Laura go to Charlie’s together, agreeing to run a friendly campaign, working together to get this killer off the street.  “Kevin” walks in and says “that killer doesn’t stand a chance.”  He says he didn’t realize there was a town meeting; the pub starts to fill up with people.  Laura and Ned shake hands and sit down up front; Julian introduces them and welcomes everyone.  Lulu moderates.  Ned tells everyone he agreed to this.  Lulu calls on the first person; Wendy, a resident of down town asks about insurance of diversity among staff and appointees… Ned goes first.  He admits most of his staff is white, mostly male, but not by design, he says; they are there because of years of trust.  He starts to brag about the council.  Laura is given the floor; she says the problem is that a close circle only works with the people they know.  She says she wants to hear from everyone.  Next a question about being a businessman; Ned brags about how important businesses are to the community.  Laura argues that, although that is important, business is not everything; she says people are the key.  “Kevin” raises his hand to speak.  He says even though their marriage is ending, his respect for Laura is immense.  He says when it comes to the future of this city, it will be his honor to vote for Laura.  The room claps; Laura promises to make problems with mental health and social issues her priority.

Jason and Sam go to see Kristina; she tells them its perfect timing, saying Shilo is here.  Jason looks at Shilo and says he is lying.  He says he knew him as Hank; he asks Sam if she can appreciate that when you change lives, its helpful if you change names too.  She acknowledges so with a nod; she asks if he talked to Drew.  He says he did, and tells them how Drew saved his life literally and figuratively, and intends to repay the debt.  He says after the war, he changed his life completely, he evolved, because of Drew… starting learning about better ways to live your life, created the center.  He says he owes everything to Drew.  They question how he can fund this place; he says he pays for it out of his own pocket; and she asks where the money comes from exactly.  He says he is a life coach, helping people reach their full potential.  Kristina ends up getting mad at Sam for interfering in her life and leaves.  Sam and Jason tell Shilo goodbye.  Alexis is surprised when Julian tells her he and Kim are through; he has no explanation, only saying he is sure Kim isn’t concerned with him at all.   Kristina comes back and apologizes to Shilo for Jason and Sam’s behavior; he tells her it was her behavior he was disappointed with.  She is confused, but he explains that they didn’t come there with anger; she is the one who brought that anger from within herself.  He tells her he can teach her to change; he invites her to stay with them.

“Kevin” acts surprised when Curtis tells him they found Peyton Mills’ body on the terrace behind the holiday display.  He also tells him about the text he got from Peyton, asking him to meet there… they wonder why the killer would want him to find the crime scene.  “Kevin” says he knows exactly why.  He says the killer is taunting them.  He says the choice of holidays to put the bodies on display means a distain for family tradition.  He says the killer is antisocial.  Kristina tells Julian she is moving out and moving into the group home with Daisy; she says she hasn’t told her parents yet so, it’s “on the dl.”

Kim goes to see Julian; again he is distant and cold.  She says she thought he understood…he says he did, until he saw her kissing Drew.  He tells her he found a way to move past it; he says he slept with someone else.  Kim can’t believe it.  He insists, telling her that he probably just isn’t the man for her after all.  She leaves upset.  Drew bumps into Hank in the hospital at GH – Hank insists on showing pictures.  It triggers nothing.  Hank tells Drew he changed his life.  Drew mentions Kim; Hank says he never mentioned her back then.  Hank tells him, even though he doesn’t remember, he wants to be there for him if he needs anything… Drew tells him to forget it.  Hank says he can’t; he tells Drew, “you saved my life.”  He proceeds to tell the story of how Drew kept him from bleeding out.  Drew says he would like to hear more, but he has to get back to his kid.  Lulu gives her condolences to Ava and asks if they can talk; she says they need to talk about Kevin.  She tries to explain what kind of a man Kevin used to be… how he used to help people.  Ava says he is helping her.
