Thursday, January 3, 2019 (S56E186): Here’s to Gail

A year ago, minus a day, Lucy and Maxi had a conversation; scenes play showing Lucy’s idea to rebrand Port Charles and make it a tourist destination again.  She has conversations with various members of the community.  She tells Maxie she needs quotes from Port Charles’ best and brightest.  Today, she stands at the window of the Port Charles Travel Books and Guides; Lucy finds Maxie and shows her the book she published.  She tells Maxie now she needs publicity; an ad for a book signing.  Drew and Curtis spar at the gym.  Stella comes in to the long-term care center and asks Marcus how his wife is doing; he asks her who wants to know, her or Mike.  Mike and Sonny are at the gym, working out; Mike asks if they can stop by the center after they are done so he can see if she liked her Christmas present.  Marcus tells Stella that he is assuming care for Yvonne and taking her home; she cautions him against that.  He says he will take his changes, telling Stella his marriage isn’t her business, adding that she lost her right to weigh-in on his life long ago  Stella tells Mike and Sonny that Marcus is taking his wife home; Mike looks confused.   He gets angry; he says Yvonne would never leave him like that.  Sonny tells him they don’t have a choice about this; Mike offers to not bother Yvonne again if he will leave her there, where she knows her place.  Sonny promises to “fix it.”

Jason and Sam go to see Kristina; she tells them its perfect timing, saying Shilo is here.  Jason looks at Shilo and says he is lying.  He says he knew him as Hank; he asks Sam if she can appreciate that when you change lives, its helpful if you change names too.  She acknowledges so with a nod; she asks if he talked to Drew.  He says he did, and tells them how Drew saved his life literally and figuratively, and intends to repay the debt.  He says after the war, he changed his life completely, he evolved, because of Drew… starting learning about better ways to live your life, created the center.  He says he owes everything to Drew.  They question how he can fund this place; he says he pays for it out of his own pocket; and she asks where the money comes from exactly.  He says he is a life coach, helping people reach their full potential.  Kristina ends up getting mad at Sam for interfering in her life and leaves.  Sam and Jason tell Shilo goodbye.  Alexis is surprised when Julian tells her he and Kim are through; he has no explanation, only saying he is sure Kim isn’t concerned with him at all.   Kristina comes back and apologizes to Shilo for Jason and Sam’s behavior; he tells her it was her behavior he was disappointed with.  She is confused, but he explains that they didn’t come there with anger; she is the one who brought that anger from within herself.  He tells her he can teach her to change; he invites her to stay with them.

Monica talks to Scotty; they reminisce and a flashback scene plays of the two of them.  She gives him advice about marriage, saying there isn’t a problem you can’t solve, if you love each other.  He admits drifting off in thought; she has some memories of her own.  They are interrupted by Lucy; they tell her Gail passed away last night.  She sits down, devastated.  She shares some memories of her own; Alexis comes over to make her condolences, and tells them that she needs to get them all together.  Gail’s Will contains a request.
