Wednesday, January 16, 2019 (S56E195): Madame Mayor

Carly is on the phone with Lucy; she tells her she needs to talk to Sonny (her primary investor).  They discuss some dinner celebration; Sonny tells Carly she owes him for that.  Then he tells her they have a bigger problem; Jordan tells Maxie that she needs to cancel Lucy’s book event before it becomes a crime scene.  Lulu tells Peter she can’t confirm anything with the PCPD, she needs to ask someone else to talk.  Peter tells her she can write the article, but it will be up to him whether to publish it or not; Lulu asks Jordan for a comment about the killer.  Jordan says no comment, but insists that Nathan would agree canceling the book signing was the right thing to do.  Lulu tells Jordan today is Maxie and Nathan’s wedding anniversary.

Scotty meets with Ava at Charlie’s; he tells her, if he does his job, he won’t be seeing her around anymore.  She wants him to oversee the sale of her condo and all of its contents, she says; Sonny tells Carly that Ava wants extended vacations with Avery.  Scotty tells Ava the only way she will get Avery out of the country is over Sonny’s dead body.  She asks what he thinks the chances are that Sonny will drop dead soon; Scotty laughs that people have been trying to kill him for years.  Curtis comes in to meet with Stella; he asks how she is.  She tells him about Marcus and his wife; Curtis says its good that he has her.  She says she doesn’t think he sees it that way.  Mike is upset because he can’t find his watch; Sonny gets it out of his desk drawer.  He tells his dad he gave it to him last Christmas, afraid he would lose it.  Mike calls him a liar and a thief; he punches Sonny.  Carly steps in and tells Mike to go to his room and cool down.  Sonny says he will hire more help; Carly says they can’t do this anymore… she asks what would happen if he ever had to hit Mike in self-defense.

Cameron and the kids are all dressed up for their grandmother’s inauguration as mayor; Aiden asks if Charlotte will be there.  Apparently Cam hadn’t been told that Charlotte was the one bullying Aiden; Jake tells him.  Cam tells Franco he is worried about Aiden; he says they can’t protect him from the world.   “Kevin” sees Laura before the ceremony and tells her she needs to take office with a clean slate; he says they need to finalize the divorce.  She tells him the divorce will have to wait; she walks up the stairs.  He catches her coming back down and tells her that he isn’t the man he used to be; she agrees.  He tells her she is playing a game; she tells him to go to hell.  “Kevin” isn’t happy to see Scotty talking with Ava; she tells him she won’t be able to leave town with Avery, and he offers to help.  He calls Carly and apologizes for their confrontation; he asks if they can meet.  She asks if Sonny can come with her; he says that’s no problem at all and suggest they meet today.  Laura begins taking the oath of office, but stops mid-sentence to take off her wedding ring; she finishes with grace, having memorized the oath flawlessly.  She tells Jordan to bring her the file on the recent murders.
