3-20-2018 UPDATE: A Brief Overview of the Past Six Weeks

Thank you all for your patience… I know I have some loyal followers, who may have missed my blog accounts of the past month’s+ episodes.  But I really needed this time to focus on a major portion of my dissertation paper and to prepare for what is yet to come; I now feel comfortable enough with the process (which will take eighteen months to complete) to go ahead and try to resume my regular episode postings.  There may be weeks here and there, that I just have to do a short summary of each episode and will post only once that week, but I will try to post full episodes as often as possible.  I do appreciate your continued patience and hope you will enjoy the upcoming episodes.

DURING MY ABSENCE, Sam and Jason have gone on an adventure, eerily similar to the one they experienced when they first met all those years ago; after jumping off of a trailer together, just before it falls off a cliff.  Jason admits that he still loves Sam and she tells him she loves him too – she says she has been lying to herself, and to Drew, and she needs to tell Drew to “make things right.”

Nathan died from his shot gun wound (which happens to have been the subject of my last blogged episode – January 30th ); I was so sad to learn that… sad for Maxie, and for their baby… that he or she will never get to know what a wonderful father ‘Nathan’ would have been.  I’m told that the actor, who played the role of Nathan, wanted to leave the show (apparently he was offered a movie role, so kudos to him – but I hate it for the sake of the show).

Sonny's father comes to visit and Sonny soon learns that he is losing his memory; he is found wandering around a construction site in the dark, unaware of where he is.  Carly tells Sonny that they need to move him in with them.

Griffin begins to suspect that there is a connection between Peter August and Cesar Fason; he some how obtains a DNA sample from each of them and decides to secretly perform a DNA test.  Anna gets closer to learning the truth about Heinrik, and her stolen baby (fathered by Cesar); Jason agrees to help her with her investigation and finds the manuscript Cesar tried to burn in Britt’s old hotel room.  No explanation as to why the fireplace in that room would not have been cleaned out by now, but who cares?  Jason takes the manuscript to Anna.

Meanwhile, Alexis and Ned face off, campaigning against each other for the Mayoral election; Ned wins, although it was very close, I’m told.  Alexis considers ‘falling off the wagon’ again, and ends up sleeping with Finn, of all people.  They both agree that it was a mistake and decide to let things be, trying to not to let anyone else know, but we all know that somebody is going to, or already, knows.  Finn still has feelings for Anna, and pines away for his supposed deceased wife and child, but we all remember that Hayden is still alive, and so is that baby… she is bound to come back on the show at some point.  I, personally, can’t wait!  I’ve always loved that actress (although I’m not into remembering all their actual names); I was thrilled when she moved over to GH after All My Children was cancelled… she played Kendall’s sister, but wasn’t Erika’s daughter, as I recall, and at the moment I can’t remember her character’s name on AMC – but looking forward to her return to GH.

I think that’s the bulk of what has happened thus far; if I learn anything more, I will come back and add it and announce an update to this blog.  I will also be posting a few past episodes I had taken notes of, but didn’t have time to get posted, or ones I can find good recordings of (if I find some lax time, lol) so they may randomly show up and may be out of order.  We'll call them “Flashbacks.”

**For those of you who also follow my “Days of Our Lives Blog,” I’m still getting caught up myself on that one, and I’m not sure how soon I’ll get back to it, but I promise, I will before too long!  Thanks again, for your patience during this time. Sincerely, ~Dennel

Thursday, March 22, 2018 (S55E244): Revelations

Franco reveals to Elizabeth, in a round about way, that Jim Harvey did something to him when he was little “tussling his hair, and rubbing his back” and telling him that “no one would ever believe” him, because all he did was lie.  Elizabeth doesn’t get it; she asks him to tell her what it is he thinks he’s remembering, cupping his face in her hands…she really should know.  Franco tells Elizabeth that he is pretty sure he knows, but he doesn’t want to admit it yet; he asks her if they can just go home.  His mother texts Elizabeth, saying that she is finally ready to tell Franco the truth about Jim Harvey.

Carly has Kim over for tea, with the alterior motive of talking about their kids… they have a nice discussion, right up until Carly finds out Kim is spending time with Julian Jerome, and Kim abruptly (but sweetly) leaves.  Nelle thanks Michael for being such a great birthing coach, and starts to talk as if they are still together, you know, since they are both leaving in Monica’s house.  Michael tells Nell that they are over and done with, for good, and decides to move out on his own; Nell protests that they need to raise this baby together.  But he leaves her coldly.  Carly is so happy when he tells her that he is cutting Nelle out of his life, she wants to celebrate; Nelle listens just outside the door.  She vows that Michael is going to be the one with a problem, and sneaks into a room, leaving a scarf on a desk (familiar ploy; remember the bra in the bed?)

Finn and Alexis are having a drink at Julian's bar; now that's not awkward, is it?  Julian gives Finn a hard time about his "lizard" and Finn leaves.  Andre talks to Anna, as a friend, and tells her that he thinks she is making a mistake by writing Finn off; they discuss other business too, and she tells him what she now knows about her son, vowing that she will find him (even if he ends up hating her).  She has to tell him about the disease he may have inherited.  As Andre leaves Anna, Finn walks through the doorway of the docks; Anna sheepishly smiles.

Sam brings Drew home from the hospital, as lovingly as ever, hugging, kissing him… adoring him and telling him how happy she is he’s okay.  Then after they get home, and he tells her how happy he is to be home, with her, she kisses him and tells him they “need to talk.”

3-19-2018 (Monday) S55E? What is Franco so Scared of??

Griffin puts labels over medical records for Cesar and Peter August, marked “Patient A” and “Patient B”; he gives the paperwork to Brad and asks him to discretely perform a paternity test, but Brad says he can’t do it.  He tells Munroe he isn’t comfortable getting “mixed up in the type of thing” anymore… Griffin tells him, he would be on the side of the angels.  Brad asks what it is all about.  Griffin doesn’t exactly tell him, but convinces him to do it; but later, when Griffin asks about it, Brad laughingly tells him “you know these things aren’t instantaneous.”

The developer, Jim Harvey…tells his henchman to “keep those two on ice for a bit” and says the mayor (Ned) knows he has as much to lose as they do… I’m not sure what’s going on here.  Olivia complains to Ned, then realizes he isn’t listening to her; he tells her its just that he’s the newly elected mayor of a city that’s trying to recover from an earthquake.  Sam and Elizabeth come to see Ned; they have a few questions.  They tell him that Drew and Franco are missing; they ask if Ned knows how to reach Jim Harvey, referring to him as Ned’s friend, which pisses Ned off.  He says that man is NOT his friend, but tells them where they can find him.  Drew and Franco are locked in a room on “level” six of the parking garage?  Drew asks Franco why he “froze up with Harvey.”  Harvey tells his henchman he has the mayor in his pocket; he says if Drew and Franco won’t agree to keep their mouths shut they are going to have to kill them; the man protests, but Harvey says, if it comes down to it, they have to make sure “those two will never be found.”  Drew tells Franco that the liberating thing about being trapped together is that there is nowhere to go, so if he needs to get anything off his chest, now would be a good time.  Franco says no; he’s fine.

Drew suddenly notices that his wedding ring is missing and really gets upset; he says if “those guys” stole it, he is going to kill them all. He hands Franco back the lucky rabbit’s foot Franco had given him earlier; Franco breaks down and starts talking about Jim Harvey telling him, that night, “it was a secret”… he said he told him he had “been a bad boy” and his mom wouldn’t believe him; that nobody would ever believe him, because everyone knows that he’s just a liar.  Franco says all he remembers is seeing Drew at the top of the stairs, and then seeing him at the bottom of the stares; Drew acknowledges that he doesn’t remember pushing him, but Franco adds, “but I don’t remember NOT pushing you.”  After the girls leave, Ned tells Olivia that there is something he needs to tell her.  He admits that Jim Harvey new there was a natural gas deposit underneath the Charles Street area; Ned says when he confronted Harvey about it, he showed no remorse.  Olivia says the man needs to be held accountable; Ned says, “so do I.”  Sam knocks on Mr. Harvey’s door; he asks why they are out so late and they tell him they are looking for Franco and Drew.  Sam tells him that, after he told them about what Franco did to Drew when they were kids, Drew went to confront Franco and they haven’t heard from either of them since.  Liz says, maybe they came back to get the whole story; Jim shakes his head no.  Sam says she knows that Franco threatened him to keep his mouth shut, and she’s afraid he may do worse to Drew.  He denies having seen either of them.  Sam asks to leave her number and goes to the dest to write it down; she notices Harvey grab the blueprints quickly and roll them up.  Elizabeth says she has “absolute faith that Franco would never hurt Drew” – Harvey tells her that he thinks she should be concerned, he says “Bobby has done everything he can to keep that secret buried.”   Sam finds Drew’s wedding ring on the floor of Harvey’s hotel room and grabs it without him noticing; when the girls walk out, Jim calls and tells his ‘friend’ that they are “on to” them and he needs to take care of Franco and Drew.  Drew tells Franco that nothing that happened in the past matters to him anymore; he says all that matters is that they get out of there, and they are going to do it TOGETHER.

Ned tells Olivia that he didn’t know what Jim was up to, but Jim has made it look like he did; he says he can take the hit, but he doesn’t want to ruin the reputation of Port Charles anymore than Sonny’s organized crime already has.  He thinks maybe he should resign; he says he cannot be connected to a man who was doing illegal “fracking” that caused an earthquake.  Olivia tells him he needs to hang in there and show the people that his intentions were pure; he says he doesn’t see that happening.  Olivia gets an idea; she leaves the room saying that she knows a way to save the city.

Anna meets with Jason; she asks if he has what she needs and he hands her a partially burned copy of the manuscript “The Severed Branch.”  He says he got it from a fireplace in the suite BrittWestbourne was staying in; he assumes Fason tried to burn it.  Anna almost takes glee in the fact that Fason has been “upstaged by his son.”  Anna says she is going to go through the manuscript page by page; she wants to read the authors words, thoughts and creations… she thinks that will bring her right to Heinrik.  She thinks “the author” may have left messages to lead Fason to his son; Jason tells Anna that he wants to know “the real reason” she is so interested in finding Heinrik.  She tells Jason about the degenerative brain disease that Fason had, and says that his son needs to know; Jason asks why it’s her job to tell Heinrik.  She asks Jason, in honor of Robyn, if he would just trust that she has her reasons; he tells her he trusts her completely and lets it go.

Maxie comes to see Peter; he acts guilty… she lets it go, talking about Nina being so protective of her, “after everything that happened with Nathan.”  As she turns to ‘go home,’ Peter asks if she is going back to the hotel, or if she’s decided to move back into her apartment.  She kind of gets upset, but admits that she can’t stand to be in the place where she lived with Nathan; yet says, she’s okay with being in the hotel where he was killed.  She says, their apartment, without him… living there would be admitting that he is gone and she isn’t sure she’s ready to do that yet.  She talks about the piled up mail, and unfinished business that Nathan will never come home to take care of; Peter gives her a hug.  Maxie says she is afraid she won’t be a good mother, especially alone; Peter reminds her of all she’s accomplished and tells her that she can do anything.  Maxie says he ‘almost’ makes her believe it.  He says she will know when she’s ready; she tells him she is sorry he never got to know Nathan because she thinks they would have liked each other.  Peter calls his publisher and tells him he is finally ready to publish the manuscript; he says, “I finally know how the story ends.”
