Thursday, December 20, 2018 (S56E180): All About Wiley

Lucas and Brad come to visit Carly and Sonny; Sonny is excited to hold Wiley.  He isn’t happy when Julian shows up to pick up Avery; Sonny says Ava isn’t in condition to take care of their little girl.  Julian says Avery is all Ava has to hold on to right now; Carly says it isn’t fair to put that on her.  Avery appears at the top of the stairs and asks if she did something wrong; Julian tells her, her mommy just misses her.  Michael says he could use some Wiley time, as he takes him from his father’s arms.  Brad apologizes to Julian for not being able to invite him today.  Sam is dressed up for Wiley’s baptism; Alexis tells her she won’t be able to see her become Wiley’s god mother.  She has an emergency with a client, she says.  Nina wakes up in Valentin’s bed, realizing she is late for a breakfast meeting with Maxie – she tells Valentin she has to go, but looks forward to coming home to him, having accepted that he is her home.  Maxie talks with Peter at the table while she waits for Nina; she tells him she isn’t surprised Leisel flipped out the way she did.  She knows her as Nathan’s mom, and says he wouldn’t want her going to prison no matter what; she is James’ grandmother.

Jordan tells Leisel that she knows she set up the crash and escape, which resulted in Nathan’s death.  Leisel blames Anna, claiming she just wants to redeem herself in Peter’s eyes.  Finn steps up and tells Obrecht that they are just out for justice.  Peter suddenly remembers that he has something he has to take care of; he tells her he will see her after the holidays.  Everyone is stunned when Peter comes into the police station demanding that they let Obrecht go; he says his memory wasn’t so clear when he first gave his statement to them.  He claims Leisel was just trying to help him write another novel, in Nathan’s honor; Leisel smiles.  Valentin passes the doorway of Nina’s room and hears her on the phone, saying, “it’s unforgivable.”  He imagines a worst-case-scenario where she has found out that he hired a woman to pretend to be her daughter; but instead, she tells him she is blowing off her appointment with Maxie to stay there with him.  He sits down and almost confesses his last sin to her, but getting a call from Leisel, letting him know she is free and will never tell what she knows, he just smiles.  For whatever reason, Nina doesn’t even question what it was he was going to tell her.

Maxie is surprised to see Leisel and confused about Peter changing his statement.  Jordan is upset with Peter and tells him that justice has not been served from where she is standing; Anna asks him why he did this.  He says his ordeal, coming that close to death, taught him there is another way to live and Maxie has shown him that there is always room for forgiveness; he says he is trying to be the man Nathan would have wanted him to be.  Anna asks if there is any forgiveness left for her; he doesn’t answer.  She invites him to a Christmas Eve party at her house and leaves.  Obrecht is stunned when Maxie tells her that Michael’s baby was stillborn; Julian and Willow are noticeably uncomfortable when they see each other, as she dines with Chase at Charlie’s.
