MY FAVORITE PORTION OF THE RELEASE:
A Letter to Heaven shares the raw emotion of losing a loved one and the difficulty of moving on with life without them,” Tyon says. “It chronicles all the stages of grief as I went through it and holds on to hope even when all seems hopeless. Although it is a story of death, it is also a story about life.”

11-22-2017 (Wednesday) Port Charles Thanksgiving 2017

At Alexis’ house, Stella arrives with T.J.; Molly greets them.  Stella offers to help Alexis in the kitchen but Molly says she has plenty of help today; Dr. Bensch comes out of the kitchen with a plate in his hands, asking who’s hungry.  Alexis asks T.J. to look at the cable box, in case “anybody wants to watch baseball…” (T.J. corrects her, “football” and she says, “whatever.”)  Jordan and Curtis arrive; Stella answers the door.  Jordan half-ass smiles at her; Stella welcomes them in.  Stella starts talking about the announcement Liv Jerome made yesterday, apparently not knowing the whole story about Alexis and Julian.  Alexis is obviously annoyed.

Jason comes to see Sam; he tells her he needs to come in and talk to her.  He says, “I need you to tell me what you want me to do.”  He says Diane is working to prove his identity, and eventually they will prove he is Jason Morgan… unless he tells them to stop; she asks why he would want to do that.  He says, because he would give up everything, including his identity if it would make it easier for her; she frustratingly says nothing about this is easy.  She tells him, just as much as he remembers being Jason, her husband remembers being Jason; she asks what she expects him to do… he says he doesn’t know.  That’s why he thought, if he stepped back, it might be better for her and the kids; he says, if he pushes this, it could get worse.  Sam says, “then let it get worse.”  She says what she wants, is to know the truth; she isn’t sure what comes after that, but she wants to know “the truth.”  Jason says he’ll have Diane continue to work on it then.  He starts to leave and they begin chatting, like old times; obviously comfortable with each other.  Danny comes down the stairs, saying he remembers Jason from the hospital; they chat a little, Danny asks if he has a dog and says he does… at his “other grandma’s house” and wishes they were going there for thanksgiving.  She tells him to go get ready because they need to get going; Jason leaves.  Danny says he likes him; Sam tells Danny, “he is someone special.”

As ‘Jason’ looks at family pictures in the Quartermaine house, Monica wanders in with her packed bag.  He says he just wants to make sure they “are okay.”  She tries to assure him that they are, and asks why they wouldn’t be; he says because everyone else believes “the other guy” and he wonders how long until his family feels the same way, and asks what they will need him for if he isn’t really Jason Morgan.  She hugs him and assures him that he will always be her son, no matter what his name is.  Olivia welcomes Dante in, who offers her a bottle of wine? in a plastic bag.  He marvels at the “Quartermaine house, empty for Thanksgiving” and Ned says, “yeah, there’s a first time for everything.”  Lulu, Nathan and Maxie follow him in.  Lulu is trying to get Maxie to tell her the results of the pregnancy test; Maxie says she can’t tell her before she tells her husband, and Lulu assumes that to mean there is something to tell.  Laura and Kevin show up; Maxie runs to greet them, avoiding Lulu’s question.  Laura asks Ned about being back at ELQ; he starts talking about a redevelopment project of the Charleston Street area... he assures Laura it’s a project that is on the “up and up.”

Everybody stands in a circle to say what they are thankful for; Lulu and Ned say they are thankful for their family (Charlotte must be with Valentin)… Ned also wishes Lulu a happy anniversary.  Ned is grateful their families could “merge together” and Olivia says she is thankful to be able to work on her communication skills (because of Monica) and everyone laughs.  Kevin says his thankful that Laura has agreed to spend her life with him; Laura says she’s grateful for fun.  Nathan says he is thankful for Maxie’s patience, and Maxie places her job before her family.  I think Maxie should have taken that opportunity to announce her pregnancy, but... she doesn’t.  Ned calls Monica (at the other end of the house) and asks her if she won’t change her mind and join them for dinner; he found out her flight was cancelled… she says no.  Ned calls Michael.

Carly worries that the Turkey won’t be done in time for dinner; Sonny tells her to let him worry about the cooking, while she worries about the guests.  Oscar shows up; he says his mom forgot the pie and went back for it.  Jos tells him she was worried that he didn’t want his mom to meet her, or her family; he says it’s nothing like that.  Carly greets him, and asks where his mother is; he says she will be here shortly, with pie… Sonny orders the gates to be opened and guards to be “out of sight.”  When she arrives, we see it is the same actress who played “Carly” many, many years ago.  Jos and Oscar excuse themselves promptly to go “check on Avery” – Carly says she thought they’d be gone before she got her coat off.  Oscar’s mom sits down and says that it appears that “organized crime has been good” to them; Sonny and Carly are shocked.  She tells them, she isn’t one to beat around the bush; she doesn’t see “this thing” with Oscar and Jos lasting long anyway, so she isn’t going to fight it – and she just wants to “make sure [they] are all on the same page.”  Sonny and Carly seem offended at her lack of faith in their children, and Sonny says he “wouldn’t bet against them just yet.”

Sam and Danny arrive at Alexis’; Sam says Scout is asleep.  Jason asks Sam what took her so long, saying he thought she would beat him there; she just shrugs it off.  They are all sitting around talking when Alexis walks in, with the turkey on a patter and announces that dinner is ready; she turns to go over to the table and trips over a bag on the floor.  The turkey, platter, and all the fixings, spill onto the floor.  Alexis can’t believe that Bensch doesn’t want to “run for the hills” after all he’s seen, and kisses him before he can finish saying, “not in the slightest.”  (I’m not sure about the two of them together.)

The Quartermaine table is loaded with everything, from turkey to lasagna, mashed potatoes with gravy and runny cranberry sauce, and as plates get filled, Maxie gets more and more nauseous.  Olivia loads up a plate and sticks it in Maxie’s face; Maxie immediately becomes ill and falls forward as she grabs for a napkin, leaning on the table and knocking it down… the food goes everywhere all over the floor.  Nathan takes Maxie home and puts her to bed and suggests she see a doctor tomorrow; she tells him she isn’t sick, she is pregnant.  He gets excited.

Sonny goes to check the turkey, and Carly tells Oscar’s mom that she isn’t one to play games either and she appreciates that about her; they decide they actually like each other.  Carly asks if Oscar’s dad was “ever in the picture.”  The kids come back down to see them all laughing and getting along; Michael shows up and introduces himself, but then gets that call from Ned.  He leaves.  Oscar’s mom whispers to Carly that the situation with Oscar’s dad is complicated.  Carly says she knows “complicated.”  Jason arrives… when Oscar’s mom, Kim, sees him, she stands up and says, “Drew.”

The next thing we see, pizza is being delivered; about twenty boxes or so… the Quartermaine tradition continues.  The whole family gathers, on and around the couch, in the living room where Monica is; Ned, Olivia, Michael, Dante, Lulu and Rocco, Laura, Kevin and everyone from Alexis’ house, including ‘Jason’ and Sam!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

11-21-2017 (Tuesday) Refuse to Be Ruled by How Others See You

Franco puts a hat on Liz and all of her boys, telling them they are “exact replicas” of the ones the pilgrims wore; he says its time to say what they are all thankful for, going first, and thanking them all for welcoming him into their beautiful family, and vowing to “protect it and the beautiful life they are sharing, no matter what.” ‘Jason’ shows up to see the boys; Franco is (sarcastically) happy.  Jake asks ‘his dad’ to watch football with them; Franco says, “yeah sure, come sit with us.”  ‘Jason’ tells Jake he can’t; he says he needs to talk to his mother.  Franco leaves the room; ‘Jason’ says, “at least my son knows who I am.”  Liz tells him not to stress out about this because it will do “more harm than good” adding that it is out of his hands anyway.

Jason tells Sonny he is thankful to be home when Sonny tells him there is no pressure for him to keep working for him; Sonny smiles.  Robyn stops by; she talks to Carly first, and then Jason.  Carly tells Robyn that the second she looked at Jason, she knew he was the “real Jason” and Robyn tells her she was telling him “he could be the twin” but knew the second he brought up a memory from their past.  When he talks to Robyn he says he “can’t blame Sam for moving on” and Robyn tells him, “except that she didn’t really.”  She says if anyone understands what Sam is going through, it’s her.  She explains to Jason how her husband, Patrick, fell in love with another woman when he thought she was dead; she says, he just needed “some time to work things out” and adds, “maybe Sam needs that too.”  Michael talks to Jason about his feelings while dealing with his father and the business while Jason was gone; he also tells him all about Nelle and their on again, off again relationship.

Alexis goes to see Sam; ‘Jason’ is on the phone with the station manager; she tells him there is some broadcast they want to “break in” with… ‘Jason’ tells Alexis and Sam, it has to do with Liv Jerome.  When ‘Jason’ walks away, Alexis asks Sam if she’s heard from “Patient 6” or not; Sam says no, not since they found out that he and ‘Jason’ are twins.  Alexis asks if she really believes that ‘Jason’ is Jason and “the other guy is the twin.”  Sam says she has to; she loves her husband, she says.  She can’t believe otherwise.Nora reads a statement from Olivia Jerome, who states that she was out of her mind due to the loss of the man she loved, saying her “recovery has been slow” but claiming that she is “better now” and admitting that she forced, her brother, Julian to do everything he did.  She goes on to insist that she “forced him to cooperate” because Duke was murdered by one of his associates; she says she blackmailed him by threatening his loved ones and he had “no choice but to commit any crime [she] told him to” and she can’t now “let him pay for [her] crimes.”

Ava writes an email to a doctor who she hopes will help her; Griffin tells Ava he “isn’t going anywhere.”  He asks about her plans for Thanksgiving; he says he is “on call” and “hasn’t made plans with anyone else.”  He says he couldn’t think of a better person to spend this day with and was hoping she would be free; he brought “Thanksgiving subs from Kelley’s,” with “turkey, stuffing and gravy already in the sandwich.”  Griffin tells Ava, if she holds onto one thing from her old life, to “refuse to be ruled by how others see you”; he says, “the only thing that matters is what you see in yourself.”  She smiles and says that might be the truest thing she’s ever heard.  They turn on the television to hear Nora’s broadcast; Ava tells him her family is really messed up and he should go “running for the hills.”  He laughs; he tells her he is proud of her and she’ll be feeling like her “old self in no time.”  She says she’s counting on it.

Robyn stops by to see Elizabeth; she hesitates when she sees ‘Jason’ and says she is “so sorry.”  She admits that she thought he was Jason, but now that she has seen his brother… ‘Jason’ interrupts, “you think he’s Jason.”  Robyn sheepishly smiles and nods just a little bit.  She says she should go and asks him to tell Liz she’ll call her later.

11-20-2017 (Monday) Readers Love a True Story

Jason meets Sonny at the Metro Court again; he asks how the meeting went.  Sonny says okay, but it’s going to take some time to rebuild.  Cassandra sees Sonny and introduces herself; she says she understands he is a man who likes business.  But when Valentin shows up, Sonny tells her, “any friend of Valentin Cassadine is no friend of mine” and walks away.  Cassandra tells Valentin that she is excited to start working together, saying they are going to “do great things together.”

As Michael and Ned laugh about all of the Thanksgiving decorations Olivia has put out, Ned tells Michael that they need to talk about Jason and his twin.  They both tell Monica that they are concerned that the extra Jason may undo the family company; he says, for one thing, it affects the distribution of the assets, and throws the who operation into chaos, for another.  Jason comes to visit Monica; she tells him she is going to a spa in New Mexico that promises “harmonic convergence” but then admits that she’s really running away.  He tells her she is welcome to join him at Sonny’s; she says she would rather stick cocktail forks in her eyeballs.  She says he and Michael are the only things that they have in common; what about the other Jason (Drew).  Michael is surprised to see Jason; he apologizes to him for not knowing that the other guy wasn’t really him – he says he thinks, deep down, he knew, though.  Hey cries; they hug.  Ned tells Olivia that he believes the fight over the Quartermaine name is going to be a fight between the two Jasons, but he is certain, after seeing Michael’s interaction with him, “that” is the real Jason.

Finn helps Chet work out at the gym; Finn tells him he understands what he is going through, announcing that he is only seven months sober.  He tells Chet it is hard to try to explain to other people what you are going through; he says, “it helps to have help though.”  Felicia brings some food to help with Thanksgiving dinner; she says she didn’t want to leave Anna alone to do it all.  She and Mac are surprised to see Robyn at Anna’s; she tells them Emma is at a friends and the baby, Noah, is sleeping.  Felicia brings up Anna’s “new boyfriend,” saying that he adores her; Robyn asks her mom if she adores him back.  She evades the question; when Felicia goes to get the baby up from his nap, Robyn tells her mother, “out with it.”  Sonny finds Finn at the gym; he invites him to their Thanksgiving dinner.  Finn declines, saying he has somewhere he could go; Sonny says, “the invitation still stands.”

Finn asks Sonny what he knows about the street drug trade, not that he’s implying he has anything to do with it.  He says they have scores of people OD’ing at General Hospital; Sonny tells him these synthetic drugs are being made overseas.  He tells him the best he can do is put a dent in it, and someone is just going to come along and fill the gap.  Finn shows up at Anna’s; he tells her he can’t just sit on his hands… he wants to help do something about this drug trade in town.  Anna tells him that Valentin just told her the new drug that will be hitting the streets is stronger and more dangerous than ever; Finn says maybe they can stop her by giving her what she wants.  Sonny is surprised by Michael showing up at the gym with Jason; Sonny asks if he wants to spar – Jason playfully holds his arms back and Michael laughs, “that’s the only way you can beat me.”

Amy comes to see Nathan, complaining about the article the Invader printed; Maxie says they may have overdone it.  Amy worries about getting charged with fraud; Maxie says she should have thought about that before she did it.  Amy accuses Maxie of being the one who leaked the story to the invader; Maxie is offended, even though she told Chet.  Nathan tells Amy they will find something else to write about tomorrow.  Amy takes a breath when a knock comes on the door again; this time, it’s Quinn.  She says the gig is up; she is angry because she says her company has taken a hit.  Nathan says they will make it right; Quinn says, “damn right you will.”  She wants them to “go public,” and “pay through the nose.”

Chet comes over in time to hear Quinn say that no one is going to sue Amy and Nathan, because by the time they finish paying her back for everything, they will have nothing left, for which to be sued.  Amy and Nathan agree to make a video, accepting full responsibility for everything; Chet steps into the shot and says, none of this would have happened if it weren’t for him.  He tells his story and book sales start going up; Quinn gets excited and tells Amy and Nathan it looks like everything is going to be okay.

11-17-2017 (Friday) The Truth Always Comes Out

Just as Maxie is about to take the pregnancy test, there comes a knock on the door; she is surprised to see Chet.  He asks if he can talk to Man Landers; Maxie sits him down and decides to tell him the truth.  Amy tells Nathan that Chet never went to therapy after being discharged; she’s worried that he might be out trying to score some drugs again.  At Maxies, Amy and Nathan walk in on Maxie 'letting the cat out of the bag' to Chet; they can’t believe she would tell him, knowing how it would hurt Amy.  He is upset his sister lied to him; Amy admits what she did, and tells him she did it to help him.  He seems to appreciate her honesty.

Oscar texts his mom; she accepts Carly’s invitation to Thanksgiving dinner.  Oscar found deployment records of a naval polite who was wounded and sent home, from San Diego, of an Oscar O’Brian; Jos finds this man on “MyFace” and thinks he looks like Oscar.  He thanks Jos for being on his side; they kiss.  Jason and Sonny discuss who would have wanted to screw with their lives like this; Fason and Olbrecht, they say, but neither is in town, in fact, Fason is "missing."

Carly tells Ava she is still scared and will stay that way; a fitting punishment, she says.  Carly tells Griffin he will see Ava for what she really is one day, saying he can’t save her.  Jason decides to take a walk to clear his head.  He goes to the footbridge; he is surprised to see someone there.  It’s Robyn; he says she always seems to find him there.  She tells him she even found “the other Jason” there two years ago, but admits he never really quite felt like Jason.  However, ‘Jason’ still insists he is Jason; Franco knows what’s going on, but isn’t telling.

Ava can tell that Franco is nervous about the two Jasons now; she asks him what he is going to do with two Jasons “for the price of one.”.Nelle meets with the tabloid reporter, and they make a deal; she tells him Amy Driscol is the real Man Landers, giving him all the evidence she has, indicating Maxie and Nina as well.  He pays her; he says he will take down Man Landers and Crimson as well.  Sam decides to talk to Nina, thinking she can help her put things into perspective.

11-16-2017 (Thursday) Maybe Baby?

Maxie prepares to take a pregnancy test; she realizes she really is late for her period.  She isn’t sure she wants to become a mother again.  Nathan hears Nelle mention Man Landers; he starts to walk toward her as she heads back toward the elevator, but Amy comes running out, calling his name.  She says she’s glad he’s still there.  “It’s Chet,” she says.

Sonny tells Jason about Olbrecht, the only other person he can think of that would have done something like this, other than Helena.  He says he tried going legit; he says he put Pazzzulos up for sale, but changed his mind last minute.  Jason can’t believe he was serious about going legit; Sonny says he “thought Perks was the answer.”  Jason asks what Perks is; Sonny shakes his head, “I forget,” he says, “you weren’t here.”  He tells him about Morgan having the idea.

Jos and Oscar are surprised to find Carly at home; Carly wonders why they were hoping to be alone.  Carly tells Sonny she wants to invite Oscar and his mother over for Thanksgiving; Sonny hesitantly agrees.  He gets a phone call; Carly tells Jason she worries that Oscar’s mom won’t like her and Sonny because of his connections.  Jason tells her she will see how great they both are; she tells him she’s glad he’s back.  When Jason sees Ava come in with Griffin, he went over to thank her again and pays Griffin back for the money he loaned him at the church in Russia.

Carly is angry when she sees him talking to her; he explains that she is the patient who helped him in Russia; Carly tells Jason, she is also the person responsible for Morgan’s death.  Ava says Carly must be happy; with the support of “Sonny and his sidekick,” she says, “nothing can stop you now” and Carly agrees, “no it can’t.”  Jason tells Ava, he owed her, he has paid his debt, and they are done now.
