Friday, December 21, 2018 (S56E181): The Night Before Christmas

Kim and Julian give Oscar an early Christmas present; its keys, or rather a key ‘fob’ to his own car.  Chase and Willow leave Charlie’s, but Willow comes back; Julian is closing, but opens the door for her.  She asks him what he thinks the adoption agency would think if she told them about his little visit to her apart, where he begged her not to take her son away from his.  Julian reminds her that she wanted the best for her son and agreed with him that she couldn’t give it to him; he tells her Wiley is happy.  She asks if maybe they could just ‘know’ each other; he agrees to show her pictures.

Anna’s guests start to arrive; Jordan and Curtis tell her they are excited for an authentic English Christmas dinner.  Anna says it isn’t for everyone; Curtis says it must be better than Alexis’ dry Thanksgiving dinner.  She is surprised when Peter shows up; Finn is impressed.  She admits she didn’t expect it.  Chet shows up next and asks if he could bring a friend; Anna says sure.  Willow is still talking to Julian; she admits that she has thought about still telling her son who she is.  Julian pleads with her not to; she heads to the hospital, where Michael finds her.  She tells him she just found herself there; she gets a text from Harrison inviting her to the party.  She tells Michael she wants to go… or rather, she wants to want to go.  Michael tells her he understands; he tells her there is a meeting even though its Christmas Eve… she goes in with him.

Anna and Peter wrap presents together and laugh about what terrible wrappers they are; Peter says he sees he comes by it naturally.  Cameron writes a letter of apology to the court, trying to get a reduced sentence for the attempted weed purchase; just as he is about to read it to his mother, his brothers come home with Franco.  Cameron starts lovingly messing with Aiden, and Jake joins in the fun; the playfully wrestle on the couch.  Liz says they need to get going to the hospital for the Christmas party; Jake jumps over the back of the couch.  Aiden asks Cam how he gets people to like him; Cameron tells him the secret is to like yourself first.  He points out all the ways that Aiden is cool, and tells him kids in the third grade are really dumb and it takes them a while to catch on.  He says they will though, and Aiden hugs him; they all head out the door.

Maxie is surprised by Chet, when he appears in the hallway of the hospital, as she drops off toys for tots donations.  She hugs him; she says he looks great.  He says he just did a photo shoot; Men in Uniform Against MS.  He’s October; Maxie, excitedly says, “that’s my birthday month!”  Chet says “Happy birthday.”  She invites him to go to the party with her.  They show up and Maxie almost knocks the tree over as she goes to put presents under it.  Lucas and Jason visit Jason; Jason holds Wiley.  Lucas tells Jason that he has everything he could want this Christmas already.  Joslyn sees Jason and yells at him for not telling her that he knew Oscar was dying; he tells her he knew it was crushing Oscar and he had to give his word – he kept his word, but hated it every day, he says.  She cries that she can’t be mad at Oscar because he’s sick, but she wants to because it hurts; she apologizes to Jason and thanks him for standing by Oscar.  Carly watches from around the corner and thanks Jason for that; she hugs him.

Thursday, December 20, 2018 (S56E180): All About Wiley

Lucas and Brad come to visit Carly and Sonny; Sonny is excited to hold Wiley.  He isn’t happy when Julian shows up to pick up Avery; Sonny says Ava isn’t in condition to take care of their little girl.  Julian says Avery is all Ava has to hold on to right now; Carly says it isn’t fair to put that on her.  Avery appears at the top of the stairs and asks if she did something wrong; Julian tells her, her mommy just misses her.  Michael says he could use some Wiley time, as he takes him from his father’s arms.  Brad apologizes to Julian for not being able to invite him today.  Sam is dressed up for Wiley’s baptism; Alexis tells her she won’t be able to see her become Wiley’s god mother.  She has an emergency with a client, she says.  Nina wakes up in Valentin’s bed, realizing she is late for a breakfast meeting with Maxie – she tells Valentin she has to go, but looks forward to coming home to him, having accepted that he is her home.  Maxie talks with Peter at the table while she waits for Nina; she tells him she isn’t surprised Leisel flipped out the way she did.  She knows her as Nathan’s mom, and says he wouldn’t want her going to prison no matter what; she is James’ grandmother.

Jordan tells Leisel that she knows she set up the crash and escape, which resulted in Nathan’s death.  Leisel blames Anna, claiming she just wants to redeem herself in Peter’s eyes.  Finn steps up and tells Obrecht that they are just out for justice.  Peter suddenly remembers that he has something he has to take care of; he tells her he will see her after the holidays.  Everyone is stunned when Peter comes into the police station demanding that they let Obrecht go; he says his memory wasn’t so clear when he first gave his statement to them.  He claims Leisel was just trying to help him write another novel, in Nathan’s honor; Leisel smiles.  Valentin passes the doorway of Nina’s room and hears her on the phone, saying, “it’s unforgivable.”  He imagines a worst-case-scenario where she has found out that he hired a woman to pretend to be her daughter; but instead, she tells him she is blowing off her appointment with Maxie to stay there with him.  He sits down and almost confesses his last sin to her, but getting a call from Leisel, letting him know she is free and will never tell what she knows, he just smiles.  For whatever reason, Nina doesn’t even question what it was he was going to tell her.

Maxie is surprised to see Leisel and confused about Peter changing his statement.  Jordan is upset with Peter and tells him that justice has not been served from where she is standing; Anna asks him why he did this.  He says his ordeal, coming that close to death, taught him there is another way to live and Maxie has shown him that there is always room for forgiveness; he says he is trying to be the man Nathan would have wanted him to be.  Anna asks if there is any forgiveness left for her; he doesn’t answer.  She invites him to a Christmas Eve party at her house and leaves.  Obrecht is stunned when Maxie tells her that Michael’s baby was stillborn; Julian and Willow are noticeably uncomfortable when they see each other, as she dines with Chase at Charlie’s.

Wednesday, December 19, 2018 (S56E179): Who We Love

Sam and Jason decide to spend Christmas together; … Mike insists he should be allowed into this jazz club; he says he is a friend of the owner.  Yvonne gets upset when he husband shows up; she tells him Mike is her boyfriend.  She doesn’t know Marcus; Sonny tries to intervene.  He says they are going to have to skip the club tonight; Margaux jumps in and says she is getting Mike a table.

Nina decides that she wants to give Valentin another chance; she says she thinks he has learned his lesson.  She gives in quickly and they start getting undressed to make love; the cuts keep changing back and forth from them being dressed, to undressed, to dressed again… not real good editing.  Long enough scene.  Kristina comes home saying she had a horrible day; she confides in Sam about trying to kiss someone who is clearly not into her in that way.  She lays into Sam about refusing to be with Jason when she knows he is completely right for her.

Cameron tells his mom he was trying to do something good for Oscar; he explains everything… she hugs him but explains that this could have turned out really badly, cautioning about an interaction possibility and says he needed more information.  She says he kids don’t always think things through; she asks him to come to them first if he gets an idea like this again; Franco says they will try to help him.  Alexis says he will still have to face the judge to see what his punishment will be but he is free to go home.

Monday, December 17, 2018 (S56E177): Charlotte’s Apology
