Wednesday, October 24, 2018 (S56141): Would You Please?

Drew tells Curtis he cannot be his best man after all; he hesitates to give an answer.  Curtis gets him to talk; he tells him Oscar is sick.  Curtis tells him he is his best man, “wedding or no wedding” and asks what he can do.  He says, nothing right now; Curtis says he will keep them in his prayers.  They hug.  Carly comes to see Elizabeth; she tells her that Cameron brought Jos home from the pep rally yesterday and stayed to visit.  She says she isn’t opposed to them spending time together; she just wants to make sure they are on the same page.  She says she knows they don’t like each other, but she doesn’t want Elizabeth sabotaging her daughter’s relationship; she says she expects Liz to treat Joslyn with courtesy and promises to do the same with Cameron.  Cameron tells Oscar that he doesn’t mind him crashing with him for the night, but he’d suggest a more permanent arrangement.  Kim comes to visit Sam; she apologizes for not calling and asks for Sam’s help to save Oscar’s life.  Sam asks what’s going on; she tells Sam about the trial and Oscar’s refusal to participate.  She says he didn’t come home last night and she is worried sick.  She tells Sam, her mother is representing him for emancipation; she asks if Sam would talk to her mom to convince her that Oscar is too young to know what is good for him.  She pleads her case, how the treatment could save Oscar’s life; she compares Danny having had leukemia to Oscar’s situation and begs for Sam’s help.  Sam says she understands Oscar’s hesitation, since there is a change the treatment could leave him brain-dead… and says she doesn’t have that kind of influence on Alexis; but as much as she hates to admit it, she says, there may be one person who does.

Olivia comes to pick up Leo from Julian at Charlie’s; she tells him he is a better man since he got out of prison, and urges him to make things work with Kim.  She sees Laura and Carly outside; she asks for Laura’s endorsement and is surprised that Laura says she can’t endorse him because she is running again herself.  Carly is thrilled.  When Cameron gets home, she questions him about the time he and Jos are spending together; he says they are just friends.  Cameron tells his mom he loves her, and apologizes for not saying it much; she smiles, and hugs him.  Oscar asks Julian for a job; Julian is hesitant, but agrees to give him the job… Kim is upset when she comes in and finds out.  She tells Julian he doesn’t know what he has just done; she tells him Oscar’s life is at stake here.  She finally confides in Julian, and tells him she would actually much rather he be there with him than somewhere else.  Then she says she has to ask him something, because she is desperate; she asks him if he would talk to Alexis.  Carly tells Laura about the ‘neighbor’ at Fern Cliff tapping Morse Code to her on the wall; Laura asks her if she would go back there with her.  Carly agrees, fearing it might be someone else, like her, who needs justice.

Alexis tells Drew that she only took Oscar’s case to protect him from being publicized by Scott Baldwin; she promises to look after him, and treat him with dignity.  That does not make Drew happy; he threatens to fight her all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary.  In a very friendly manner, Diane tells Alexis that she is going to fight her with everything she has; Alexis says she wouldn’t expect anything less from her.
