Monday, October 29, 2018 (S56E144): Love Letters

Sam talks; Jason listens, as she is telling him that she tries to forget him… has tried to forget him, tells herself she can live without him, but then she sees him and nothing else matters.  Jason says that he wanted to call her, but couldn’t; he says, even though he is afraid of nothing, he was too afraid to say it out loud… he crumples up a letter and says, “this one’s worth nothing.”  They wonder if they have hit a dead end with the love letters they got from Margaux’s mother.  They then look at each other uncomfortably.  Sam wonders how Janette got her letters back from Scully; they agree love makes you do strange things.  They imagine what a big hit this would be to the D.A.; Sam says she almost feels sorry for Margaux, adding, “it’s going to be a pretty big pill to swallow.”  Jason admits how much he still thinks of Sam.

Anna and Finn discuss taking a trip to Detroit, since they don’t have a location on Obrecht.  She questions his choice of vacation destinations; she says no… she tells him there is somewhere far more important she has to visit.  They end up at Pentonville.  Anna admits that she never liked Britt, especially because of how she treated Emma; Finn wonders who couldn’t like Emma.  Anna calls Britt a “particularly evil person” but “kind of sane-ish, unlike her mother.”  She says she is only willing to work with her to try to put Obrecht behind bars, in an effort to keep Peter safe.  She tells Britt she wants to offer her a trade; she moves out of Pentonville, and her mother moves in… she offers to set Britt up at the Metro Court.  Sam wonders who Margaux will try to target next.  Sonny talks with Michael about his grief; Michael says he is trying and Sonny says that’s all you can really do.  He tells him throwing himself into his work is okay, and backsliding is part of the process.  He says you just have to talk to someone, find someone who will listen, until you just get through it.  He apologizes for seeming to tell him what to do; Michael thanks him for the advice.  Michael asks what he should know about the explosion at Charlie’s.  Sonny then warns him about the D.A. coming after them, and glances at her, as she comes into the bar.  He says he wouldn’t be surprised if she shows up on Michael’s door; Michael says he hopes she does.  After Sonny leaves, she approaches his table; she brings up the fact that Sonny not only killed her father, he killed his (meaning A.J.);.he tells her she doesn't know the whole story.

Jordan and Curtis discuss the seating arrangements for their wedding; he worries that Aunt Stella’s chair will be empty during the ceremony.  “Kevin” calls Carly when he hears that she and Laura are headed to Ferncliff; he says he will be right there to meet with her, but Stella sidetracks him.  She chews him out about not turning in a form and demands that he get it right now.  Laura asks Carly if she is sure she wants to see the person in the room next to her former room; she says she wants to put a face to the screams, but when she looks in, she cannot see any one.  We see that Kevin is slumped on the floor, right up against the door, just out of her view.  Mary Pat shows up, with her box of things in hand; she blames Carly for her dismissal.  Mary Pat is surprised when Carly tells her no one is in the room… “Kevin” appears and dismisses her before she can say anything.  He chews Laura out for going there without telling him, claiming to be concerned for her safety  Jason finds ‘the smoking gun’ in the love letters; a request from Margaux’s mother for Joe Scully to kill her husband.
