Friday, April 27, 2018 (S56E20): The List

Robert asks Valentin about the conundrum box; Valentin knows about this type of box, but not necessarily this particular box.  He also says he doesn’t care about it, and wants nothing to do with it; he says he never even met Faison and suggests looking at Helena.  Robert says that’s a good guess, but wrong; Valentin asks how he can be sure.  Robert tells him the box was made in the last six months, according to the WSB lab.  Valentin says, oh well; he says, it still has nothing to do with him.  Robert brings up a connection between him and Faison… being in love with the same woman.  Valentin says, “Anna has nothing to do with this.”  Robert inquires about where Valentin was twenty years ago; Valentin looks horribly defensive.  Robert smiles and says it was a pleasure; Valentin says he wishes he could say the same.  Robert leaves, and says “gottcha” as he closes the door.

Sam is surprised to find Curtis sneaking around Aurora when she walks in; Curtis tells her exactly what he is doing.  He says he is investigating Peter August; Sam asks why.  He tells her something is missing from the dude’s background… his background.  Sam says she is going to stay and watch Peter out of the corner of her eye, while Curtis digs into his past; she asks Curtis to consider her a partner.

Lucy runs into Elizabeth and Drew as they talk in the hallway at the hospital; she asks if they are going to grace the Nurses’ Ball again this year together.  They look at each other, unsure how to answer.  Lucy may be a little behind on the town gossip for a change.  Liz tells Lucy that she can’t this year; she says she has too much going on and her mind isn’t in condition to participate.  Lucy senses that Liz is talking about Franco and tells her to hang on because love is worth it.

Kevin talks to Franco in the art therapy room; he tells him that he needs to stop blaming himself for pushing Drew down the stairs – he reminds him he was protecting him, however imperfectly.  He encourages Franco to reach out to the other people on that list, saying what if one of them contacted you?  He assures him that he wasn’t Harvey’s first victim, adding that molesters generally start young.  He tells Franco he cannot begin to heal until he accepts that he wasn’t responsible for what happened; Drew comes in and Kevin excuses himself.  Drew tells Franco, “life is complicated.”  He brings up Elizabeth and says that one thing she’s worried about is that he isn’t taking the time to process all of this; Franco says he is doing the best he can.  Drew acknowledges that he knows that; he talks about facing down Harvey in that garage and compliments Franco’s character, then wishes Franco and Elizabeth the best, saying he hopes it works out.  Franco thanks him and Drew leaves; Franco looks stunned.  He later tells Elizabeth that he has decided that he would want to know; if the whole thing was over, he would want to know, so he is going to contact the other people on the list.  He sits down and starts making calls.Diane explains the problem with the mental capacity defense to Sonny; she says they are going to have to put Mike on the stand, to “show” the illness.  Sonny says he refuses to put his dad on display for the whole world to see; he will not humiliate him like that.  Dante reminds Sonny that they could give full custody to Ava; Sonny says he isn’t doing that either.  Nelle has a heart-to-heart with Ava about the custody fight for Avery; she reminds her that she runs the risk of losing Griffin if she goes after Sonny for everything.  She suggests a lighter approach, adding that she can work it to her advantage.

Anna asks Finn if they can talk; she says she needs to tell him about something.  She tells him about the adventure she and Emma just went on with Jason, admitting that Jason is looking for Heinrik too so they agreed to work together.  She explains that Jason’s motive is different than hers; she says she can’t let him “move on the target.”  Finn asks why it’s her responsibility to protect Heinrik; she tears up and tells him she isn’t the person everyone thinks she is.  She says this is what she wanted to tell him before; Anna admits that she was developing strong feelings for Finn, and says that’s the reason she pushed him away; she says she couldn’t bear to face the things she had done.  She says there are just so many secrets; she says she cares very much about how he sees her.  She says she could bear it if he looked at her with the same distain she sees when she looks in the mirror at herself.  Lucy interrupts their conversation and asks if they will do a romantic dance at the Nurses Ball; Anna just gets up and leaves.  Finn explains that they broke up recently, and says he’ll do everything he can to support the Nurses’ Ball, except dance.  He excuses himself.  Anna meets with Robert; he tells her that Valentin’s behavior told him everything he suspected… he says, Valentin delivered her son to Faison, personally.
