10-20-2017 (Friday) Kill Man Landers?

Griffin explains that he has realized the priesthood wasn’t right for him; she asks what that means for them… “where do you want to go from here?” she inquires.  He starts to say he isn’t sure he can make any commitments when he couldn’t even keep the one he made to the church; she tells him she isn’t asking for a commitment.  They agree that maybe they’ve just been using each other, and decide maybe it’s okay to keep doing so.  They start kissing, and joke about the fact that it wouldn’t be smart to take things any further while they sort this all out…Ava smiles as they continue to undress each other.  Griffin says it was a little different than last time, knowing he was free to be with her without violating any vows.  She asks if it was still the same, not being forbidden; he says it was even better.  She tells him it’s time to go, because staying over “smacks of commitment.”  Griffin tells Ava she helped him figure out what he was denying for far too long and thanks her; she smiles… they look at each other lovingly and say goodnight.

Ned and Olivia get back from their two-month honeymoon; he tells her to get settled in while he runs to the pharmacy for Leo’s medicine.  Michael is on the phone, arguing about a proposal; he tells them the static is too bad and he’ll have to call back.  Ned comes in and Michael asks how it was; Ned talks about all the places they went and then says he did a lot of thinking about his role there at ELQ.  He says as VP of New Business, he wants to cut down on some of Michael’s new energy projects… Michael argues that some of those are already performing; Ned says they’ll keep those, but he has ideas that could be more lucrative.  He says it should be his choice, unless Michael has changed his mind about his position there.  Monica hands Olivia a handful of fake cobwebs and complains about her putting up Halloween decorations without consulting her; she tells Olivia she has overstepped her boundaries again.  Monica gets a call saying they cancelled the board meeting; she loses the call due to static; Michael finds this strange because his phone did the same thing earlier.  She says it’s been doing that all week.  Olivia complains to Ned about his mother’s complaints about her decorations; she projects her frustration onto Ned’s situation with Michael.  She tells him he should take back the power at ELQ.

Amy is negotiating a deal for a second book; Nathan tells her that she has to “kill Man Landers.”  He explains that it is affecting his marriage now and he isn’t willing to risk that; he confirms that they did make enough money to pay for her brother’s extra treatment.  Amy thanks him for all he’s done and says she will tell Quin no more books.   Nathan suggests she make a deal in her own name instead, telling her she is a great writer and shouldn’t have to chose between that and nursing.Maxie shows up and asks Sam why she didn’t tell her they were buying a media company; she explains that she didn’t even know.  Maxie has brought a gown for Sam, in anticipation of the press for the public announcement.  She tells her, she needs a favor for a favor.  While Sam goes to try on the gown, Maxie asks if they can order Nina to rehire her as editor  Sam says Crimson operates autonomously from Derik Wells Media.  Maxie reminds them that the media company stills signs off on all the checks; she then suggests that Sam retire her leather jacket.

The men that were after Jason group and discuss how they are going to find him again; they say it’s a big city and he could be anywhere.  ‘Jason’ tells Sonny that he isn’t going to let him go check this out alone; Sonny says he is only bringing him in on this because it is personal to him too.  When Jason sees Sonny show up with ‘Jason,’ he ducks into the bushes; Sonny asks ‘Jason’ if he sees anything, gun in hand.  Jason stands up to see a man behind him, holding a gun to his head; he orders Jason to put his hands behind his head.  Jason starts to, then grabs the man’s hands; the gun goes off… ‘Jason’ and Sonny turn to look where the shot came from.  The man is on the ground and Jason now holds the gun; this man tells him he was only protecting Sonny.  ‘Jason’ tells Sonny to go back to the car; when he gets to the security guard to ask what happened, the guy tells him “this guy could have killed me but he let me live.”  Sonny wonders who could have disarmed Troy and taken off, and why they didn’t take a shot at him.  Michael comes over to Sonny’s and tells him that both his and Monica’s phones were acting weird so he had them looked at and they are both tapped.  ‘Jason’ says that means Sonny isn’t the target; he is.  Our Jason recalls the events of the day and wonders what to do next; the men from Russia make plans to take someone Jason cares await.  Sam stares at her jacket on the couch; a man outside her door puts on gloves.  She puts on her jacket.
