The man at the door holds a
gun up to Carly’s face; he tells Sonny to do as he says or his wife will
pay. He forces his way inside and tells
Carly to come sit by him; he tells Sonny he is Bret Garvey’s brother – says
Sonny’s people put him in the ground last year and he is there to return the
favor. Sam asks Monica if she can keep
the Danny and Scout for one more night; she says she has to go to Puerto
Rico. She says Sonny is in trouble, and
Jason went to rescue Sonny, and now she is going to rescue Jason. Monica tries to be pragmatic; she says if
there is imminent danger, there really isn’t anything we can do anything right
now… and if there’s not she is worrying for nothing. She says Jason could be on his way home, safe and sound. Sonny tells the man that Carly has nothing
to do with this; he says he should let her go.
The man says on the contrary, because he wants Sonny to watch the woman he loves die before he does; Sonny knocks the gun out of the man’s hand and they begin to wrestle. Carly grabs the gun, tells Sonny to get down and shoots; she misses. Another shot rings out and the man falls down; it’s Jason. Carly notices Jason is bleeding from the shoulder and asks who shot him; he tells her, “you did.” Carly is horrified, but Jason is fine; he assures her and Sonny asks him to take her back home with him. She tells Sonny that she and him still have business to settle; Jason calls Sam to say he’s on his way home. Sam sees Sonny again, with an echoing voice, tells her that Jason is happy because he enjoys what he’s doing; she tells Sonny he can’t have him, but he says he’s already his. She says she will get the last word, telling him to wait and see. After Jason leaves, Sonny tells Carly she still knows how to read his signals; she says she knew he wouldn’t let anything happen to her. He says he would die first, and kisses; she kisses him back, but then pushes him away and steps back.
Stella carries on, and on, berating Jordan at the staion, until Curtis walks in and tells her that is enough; they go into the interrogation room to talk. She says this would kill his mother, if she weren’t already dead; she says that little boy was their only saving grace when Thomas died. She says letting them believe he was Thomas’ son and letting them live with the lie all these years was a horrible thing. Curtis tells her maybe so, but it was a lie of compassion, he tells her. She goes back to see TJ; he asks her if she’s okay with everything. She tells him that she still sees Thomas when she looks at him, adding that man brought him up and made him a part of him, regardless. She says she guesses she can understand why Curtis kept the secret all this time, for Thomas’ sake and his grandmothers; TJ says it was for her too, adding if she can forgive Curtis, maybe she can forgive his mother also.
Joslyn’s friend invites tons of people she doesn’t even know, including a boy named Oscar; the guys bring beer with them. Jos asks her friend why she invited so many people; she laughs saying there is hardly anyone there. The kids notice the hot tub outside and decide to go get in it; Jos asks if they all brought swimming suits and her friend laughs at her. Oscar walks back in the room and Jos’ friend leaves the room. They start talking and realize they have a lot in common; Oscar is surprised that Jos gets what he is going through with his family. They sit down and drink their drinks.
Michael thanks Nelle for a lovely evening and tells her he hopes to have many more; she spontaneously kisses him, then apologizes. He tells her he isn’t sorry and says he’ll call her, as he starts to leave. She goes in; he rounds the corner. She asks herself, “what the hell, Nelle?” She runs back out and runs directly into Michael, who is back at her door; she asks if he wants to come in for a bit – he says he’d like that. They sit down and talk over a cup of coffee; she worries about what his parents will think when the find out they are actually seeing each other. She says she doesn’t want him to lose everything; he says he has no intention of losing anything… including her. She smiles. They play a short game of sharing truths, and end up complimenting each other, then kissing; Michael says maybe he should leave. They think again, both say “no” and go back to kissing.
