Nelle takes the job; she answers the
phone very professionally and Nina smiles.
She gives her a stack of magazines and asks her to look for a possible
feature idea for their next issue… she finds one on a back-stage fashion show,
which Nina likes. Nina sends her to buy
lunch at Kelley’s; she sends Michael a text, telling him she has some good news
to share with him.
Charlotte returns Dante’s phone, which she found in the Lego
bin; she says he actually put it away in the closet for once, which is why they
couldn’t hear it ringing. Charlotte
recognizes the walls from the video her father made; she asks why her father
was there. They tell her he had to
answer some questions after the trouble at the Nurses Ball; they say he had to
go with some other officers to answer more questions somewhere else and that’s
why he left. She says that’s okay
because she knows he’ll come back for her, like he said he would when he is
done. Lulu tells her that the truth is,
no one knows when her father will be back; she reminds her that they are her
family too and they want her to be happy.
She reminds them that Papa and Nina are her family too, which they
acknowledge; Lulu says they love her very
much, adding so does her mom and Spencer. Charlotte says Spencer isn’t very polite; Lulu tells her to just
come to her if he ever hurts her feelings.
Spencer complains about having to
settle for a BLT at Kelley’s; Laura tells him that a BLT should be a nice
change from all that French food. He
says he’s acquired a taste for “tartan au fromage” – Keven says he is sure they
could make him an ‘open-faced cheese sandwich’ if he would like. He proceeds to gripe about the sandwiches
and sleeping arrangements, saying, he will “make due.” Laura says he has a very nice room, with a
private bathroom; he says he just misses his real home… the one Valentin stole
from them. Spencer asks to go to the
restroom; Laura asks Kevin to go check on him when he doesn’t return after some
time. Kevin comes back and tells Laura
that Spencer is gone; Spencer walks into Nina’s office and tells her they need
to talk.
The publisher representative tells Nathan they want to put his picture
on the book; he says that’s not possible.
She tells them his face is the brand; no picture, no publisher, she
says. Nathan begins to say that he
doesn’t think this is going to work out; Amy asks if she can talk to her
client. She says there is a way they
can both get what they want and asks him to trust her; she says she needs to
save this deal. They walk back in and
Amy tells the lady her client will do the photo shoot; Nathan looks at her
confused. She says they are going to
put his face in the shadows, so you will only see one eye; the publisher buys
the idea and agrees, congratulating Nathan on his book deal. Amy thanks him when they get out the door,
acknowledging what a huge imposition it is to him; she says her brother would
really appreciate it, if he knew.
Nathan tells her the person he is doing this for, is her; she
smiles.
Carly and Sonny return to their room, soaking wet from the rain; she
says she is going to put something dry on.
He tells her she looks great just the way she is; she looks at him, then
turns and goes into the bathroom. She
comes out; the thunder claps and she jumps into Sonny’s arms. She apologizes, saying sometimes it sounds
so close there; they begin to reminisce.
She lights candles after the power goes out; Sonny starts a fire. Sonny gets emotional when a memory of Morgan
comes up; they decide to make Mint Juleps and sit by the fire. They hear something crash; Carly jumps and
Sonny goes to investigate. She tells
him to be careful. Jason tells Michael
about Julian’s visit; he tells him a man named Garvey is still out to get his
father. Michael says he will give the
man’s name to Max and have him tighten security; Jason makes sure he won’t do
any more than that. Michael says he
doesn’t want to go anywhere near his father’s business; he then asks Jason if
he would like to join him at ELQ.
Michael tells Jason they are moving into green energies; he says he is
getting some push-back from Ned because sustainable energy sources won’t be
immediately profitable. He says he
needs someone to view sites in several locations, provide feedback and
troubleshoot; he says there’s a lot of travel involved throughout Europe and
Asia. Sam asks if he created this job
with Jason in mind; Michael says no… they created the job and he realized that
Jason was perfect for it. Jason says he
can’t do it; he says he can’t be away from his family. Sam says they could make it work; Jason says
they don’t need, because they don’t need the money. Sam asks if they can have a couple of days to think about it;
Michael says sure, but no more. When
Michael leaves, Jason asks if she is trying to get rid of him; she says she
just wants him to have a challenge that doesn’t involve him getting shot up for
Sonny.
Michael meets Nelle at Kelley's and asks if she wants
to go to a community concert with him, sponsored by ELQ tonight, laughing about
whether or not they are allowed to date now; she says they are allowed, he says
he will pick her up at 7:15pm and hugs her goodbye. Sam tells Jason that she’s upset that he is fixated on this
Garvey guy; he claims he is not fixated.
She asks if he is sure that’s not why he turned the job down, because he
doesn’t want to be half way around the world if something happens to Sonny; he
tells her he didn’t take the job because he wants to be right there with
her. He does say he is going to fly
down to Puerto Rico to make sure Sonny and Carly are okay though; Sam grabs him
and tells him he can’t do that. She
reminds him he doesn’t work for Sonny anymore; he says he knows that, but Sonny
is still his friend – and Carly is too.
He says he just wants to check on them; Sam insists on going with him
then.
Sonny comes back and tells Carly
that they have an intruder, and it’s no one she wants to mess with; it’s a
parrot, who lives there at the resort.
Carly recalls the parrot from years ago and says he scares her to death;
she admits that she is on edge right now, feeling like something bad is going
to happen. He assures her they are fine and calms her fears; he reminds her how
happy they used to be there, and says maybe they could be happy again. He leans in to kiss her; a shadow appears
out in the hallway.
