At The Floating Rib, Alexis
orders a coffee and sits down with Julian; she tells him Olivia has agreed to
keep full custody and give him visitation.
He says that’s good; Alexis can tell he is distracted and asks him
what’s on his mind. He tells her there
is just a lot of stuff going on at Derik Wells Media, after leaving it so long;
a man walks in and Julian tells Alexis he has to get back to the office. He walks over and shakes the man’s hand
after Alexis leaves; the man tells him they need to talk. Julian asks him what he wants; he says he
wants Sonny Corinthos out of the picture for good. Alexis watches from the doorway.
Julian tells the man not to get greedy; he says there’s no reason to
invade Sonny’s territory. The man tells
him this isn’t about territory, it’s about his brother; he says he ran up
against some of Sonny’s guys last year.
He asks about Ava and what Sonny had to do with that; he says if they
team up, they can make an example out of him.
Julian refuses to go along with it, saying he is under surveillance
right now, and, besides, he wants something better for his future. Alexis listens and watches. The man leaves, saying he won’t forget his
solidarity; Alexis comes back to ask Julian what he is going to do with the
information the man gave him.
Amy is nervous; she and Nathan wait outside the cafĂ© for his meeting with the publisher. Any tells him he is a great guy and she doesn’t know how she will ever repay him; she hugs him, just as Nina rounds the corner. Nina backs up and pretends to come through the walkway again, as if for the first time; Amy excuses herself and Nathan says he will see her inside. Nina asks him how he is doing without Maxie; he tells her quit hint-dropping and asks what she wants to know. She asks what’s going on with him and Amy? He tells Nina he is just doing her a favor, but he can’t explain because he promised he wouldn’t; he kisses her and says he has to go. Amy preps Nathan; he tells her it will be fine and not to worry. She knocks on the door, introducing herself as Man Lander’s manager; the lady tells Nathan she is a real fan, and says he is quite impressive. She asks Nathan how he got started and Amy tries to answer; the lady tells her this isn’t the book tour, and she wants to hear from the Man himself. She invites them to sit down. She says his writing speaks to the “every-man demographic” and talks about some of her favorite responses to readers; Nathan surprises Amy by knowing exactly what the lady is talking about. The lady goes to get a cup of coffee; Nathan tells Amy he really doesn’t like taking credit for someone else’s work. She says he isn’t taking credit, he is doing her a big favor; she says the charade won’t have to go on forever. The lady comes back and asks what charade she is talking about; Amy covers, saying they were speaking figuratively. The lady says good and offers Nathan a book deal with the publisher.
Nelle fills out an application at Kelley’s and asks if the girl there knows when she will find out if she gets the job; Bobbie walks up behind her and says, “when hell freezes over.” Bobbie sits down and tells Nelle her Aunt Ruby ran this place for years and left it to her and Luke; she tells her she won’t be getting a job there ever. Nelle asks if Bobbie is going to make it her life’s mission to make things difficult for her; Bobbie says, nobody wants her there. She tells her Michael wants her there; Bobbie says she is confusing caring for pity. Nina walks in as Bobbie grabs Nelle’s hand and Nelle pulls it away; Nina asks what’s going on. Nelle says it’s okay, she was just leaving; Bobbie says not soon enough for her. She gets a call from the hospital and has to leave; Nelle thanks Nina for helping out. Nina says she just doesn’t like to see someone kick someone else when they are down; Nelle says she kind of has a reason because of what she did to the family. Nina asks why she is choosing to stay in town then; she offers to give Nelle a good recommendation if she goes to get another job and questions Nelle’s feelings for Michael. Nelle avoids answering her question. Bobbie goes to see Michael and tells him that she thinks Nelle is manipulating him; he tells her that he knows she has been telling Nelle he only pities her. He says if Nelle is manipulating him, it is his mistake to make, and asks her to back off. Nina makes Nelle a job offer, herself; she says she needs someone as an assistant/executive office manager and asks if she’s up for that. Nina tells Nelle she sort of feels like she owes her, and really use her help anyway; Nelle tells her thank you and accepts the job.
Jos talks to Michael; she asks where her mom and Sonny went. He says, “on the island,” telling her there was a problem with the liquor distributor. She says they aren’t fooling anybody, and complains about how her mother didn’t listen to her when she warned her about Sonny. Sonny and Carly stand on the balcony; he asks if she would like to join him for breakfast. Michael tells Jos his mom is right; she is the parent and she is the kid, and she cannot disrespect her. He explains that their mother is technically the owner so she had to be there; Jos says Puerto Rico means something special to Carly and Sonny. She fears they will come back in love again and want to move back in together; she tells Michael it’s just a disaster waiting to happen. She says even if her mother forgives Sonny, she never will; Michael tells her she is welcome to come there and stay with him anytime. He explains to her that it’s part of life for people to get mad at each other; he tells her he has had problems with their mom before, and Morgan, and Kristina and Molly… he says it hasn’t happened with her yet, but it will, because that’s life, but when he does, he says, he wants her to remember that he loves her and always will. She hugs him.
Carly asks Sonny if he set this whole thing up, when the distributor says they can’t make it until the next day; he offers to get Carly her own room and invites her to dinner. He leaves his phone so she can see the messages for herself; she apologizes and Sonny tells her it’s alright. He tells her know that the divorce isn’t going to make her any less important to him; she smiles. After Bobbie leaves, Joslyn tells Michael she understands why he is so sympathetic to her mother forgiving Sonny, realizing he is about to do the same with Nelle. She tells him she thinks he is quite possibly a hypocrite but loves him anyway; she leaves and calls her friend to say she has the house all to herself tonight and thinks they should invite a few friends over.
Jason comes home with food; Sam looks much better and asks how long she was out. He tells her about ten hours; she smiles. He walks into the kitchen and she reaches to the step behind her; she has the butcher knife. Jason comes back out and sees her holding it; she tells him she just found it on the coffee table. Julian shows up at the door; he says he has to talk to them. He tells them about this man and his vendetta against Sonny and leaves; Jason says he needs to call Sonny.
