02-08-2017 (Wednesday) Desperate Measures

Laura has a nightmare; Kevin wakes her.  She describes her dream… it’s the scene at Cassadine Island, in the room where Nikolas was murdered.  It starts as she imagined, Valentin with the gun pointed at Nikolas, but then it changes and Valentin gets shot and falls out the window… she shoots Valentin, killing him before he can kill her son.  She admits that she felt some elation in her dream about killing Valentin, and asks Kevin if he is creeped out; he says not in the least.

Anna is on the phone with Robert, complaining about being stonewalled by the WSB; Griffin approaches her as she hangs up … she invites him to sit down and they talk about her dilemma.  She tells him that the WSB has restricted her access to Valentin’s files, saying they don’t exist.  He asks what she’s going to do and if she’s okay; she says she has a migraine; it’s nothing to worry about.  He asks if she has a question with headaches; she says only when she is angry, claiming it’s stress-related.  She says she is just frustrated because the secret about Valentin is eluding her.  She wonders if she had led Valentin on back in the day; she grabs her head again and takes a drink of water.  Griffin is concerned.

Maxie calls Lulu and has her come to Crimson; she tells her to be quiet and opens the door to show her that Charlotte is there.  She explains why; she says this is the perfect opportunity for Lulu to bond with her daughter.  Lulu tells Maxie she can’t; she says Alexis just told her to stay away from Charlotte – Maxie insists she just needs to become friends with Charlotte.  She thinks it’s the best way to fix things with her daughter.  Lulu goes in and asks Charlotte if maybe she could color with her a while; she admires one of Charlotte’s drawings and Charlotte flips out because she didn’t ask to touch it first.  She starts screaming at Lulu again; Nina happens to come back sooner than Maxie had thought she would and hears the screaming.  She asks what Lulu is doing there; Charlotte runs to Nina and hugs her waist.  Charlotte yells at Lulu again and Nina tells her she shouldn’t talk to people that way; Nina asks Lulu just to leave, and Lulu does.  Nina tells Charlotte that it’s okay to stick up for yourself and even yell a little bit, but the most important thing is not to be mean or nasty when you do it.  Nina then tells Maxie that she is disappointed in her; she apologizes and begs Nina not to take it out on Lulu by telling Valentin about this.  She sits down and says she’ll get back to work; Nina tells Maxie, she is fired.

Dante sits down to talk to Jordan about the case regarding his brother’s death; he tells her he has no new information and there is no physical evidence tying Sonny to the explosion.  He asks her if this is a last minute attempt to blame his father; she says it is actually the opposite.  She tells him about the information she got from Buz, then tells him that the man is missing now; she fears the DA won’t accept her statement alone.  Dante asks her what else happened in Baltimore; Jordan’s mind flashes to her and Curtis on the bed about to make love.  Lulu meets her mom for lunch and tells her what happened with Charlotte at Crimson; she frets that this is going to make things so much worse.  She says Valentin is going to get custody and she will never see Charlotte again; Laura tells her that is not true.  She tells her daughter to leave things up to her and not to worry about it anymore.

Sam and Jason meet up at the hospital for a prenatal appointment; he is late.  He tells her that he and Curtis found something that doesn’t quite add up.  He fills her in; she asks how Sonny took the news.  He admits that he didn’t tell him everything yet.  The doctor comes in a interrupts them; she tells them there is some discord in the baby’s heartbeat.  She says the heartbeat should have increased during the stress test and it didn’t; she just wants to retest again in a few weeks.  She says the baby may have just been sleeping.

After the appointment, Sam asks Jason who the investigation is pointing to and when he tells her ‘Ava,’ she says that makes no sense.  He agrees, but says it also makes no sense that it isn’t her because of Julian's own words.  Curtis goes to introduce himself to Ava; she asks why he wanted to meet her.  He says he loves art, admitting he might be rougher around the edges than her typical client; she says art is for everyone.  He then admits that he has worked for her brother before; she realizes he was the hired P.I.  She tells him to drop the act now and tell her what this is really about; he asks what he has to do to convince her that he is just there for the art.  He mentions a specific painter and impresses Ava; she apologizes to him, for doubting him.  She then divulges that she has been there working all day with her assistant.  He tries to leave then, but she presses the purchase he claimed to want to make; however, his card is declined.  She suggests a bank transfer; he gets a phone call and says he has to go.  She says to herself that she hates a man who gets her hopes up; she now wonders what it is he was really after.

Sonny’s guy brings a flash drive with the recordings of the surveillance; he questions if Jason didn’t fill him in on everything.  Sonny says he believes he left a few things out.  As they go through the video footage, Sonny catches a glimpse of the blonde-haired woman; the guy gives Sonny the headphones to listen to the audio, even though Jason said the music covered up the voices.  Sonny hears Julian say that he was tired of living in fear of his own sister; Sonny says he has to go check this out for himself.  He tells his technician that he needs a favor; Dante comes to see Sonny and finds him gone.  His ankle bracelet is laying on the coffee table; Sonny walks into Ava’s gallery.
