Friday, August 17, 2018 (S56E98): An Unexpected Visit

Alexis invites Sonny and Mike to a party to welcome baby Wiley into the family; Bobbie comes in and tells them it’s a nice gesture, but says they need to “call it off.”  She tells them Brad and Lucas are superstitious and might think the party will jinx the adoption; they walk in and ask “what’s going on?”  They say they don’t like tempting fate; Sam offers her opinion… she says they are being ridiculous.  She says they have already accepted Wiley as their son, whether that ends in thirty days or not won’t negate the reason for the party; they talk and agree to accept the gesture from their family, realizing that Michael’s family has set aside their grief to be there for them and Wiley.  When Michael walks in, Mike tells him the baby really looks like Carly; he insists, it does.  Julian says the baby looks “different than it did in the hospital.”  Alexis gets a call; it doesn’t look like good news.

Julian is being harassed by the City of Port Charles Building and Safety Bureau; the man tells him he has “some bad news.”  Drew comes into Charlie’s, where he runs into Margeaux; he asks her why she talked to Jason about him.  She tells him she is trying to use Jason to get closer to his boss; she is going to be the one to take down Sonny, she says.  Drew tells her he isn’t going to help her, and then accuses her of trying to set him up this whole time.  He tells her, her “game needs work.”  He tells her, for one, that he doesn’t have memories of all of Jason’s crimes; two, that there isn’t any evidence out there, and three, it would never hold up in court. She tells him she really does like him, and it wasn’t until she got to know him that she thought he might help her.  He tells her, she thought wrong; she kisses him, and says “maybe not.”

Valentin finds Peter at Wyndemere; Peter tells him he owes him, and he is there to collect.  He tells Valentin he plans on staying in Port Charles.  Maxie and Nina go to the prison to talk to Nina’s mother; Nina doesn’t really want to be there, but Maxie says they “have to do this.”  Nina tells her mother she is only there to support Maxie; Maxie says she is there for Nathan… Nina says it was fitting and fair that their mother didn’t get to go to Jay’s funeral.  She tells her mother everything she has been holding in for years, putting the blame where it belongs, squarely on her mother.  She apologizes to Nina, and says she is trying to turn her life around, helping others through therapy in there.  She asks Nina if she will talk to the parole board for her when her hearing comes up; Nina agrees, and then thanks her mother for reminding her what a manipulator she is.  They leave.
