Tuesday, April 3, 2018 (S56E2): Love Denied

Elizabeth brings a picture to Franco that Jake drew; she says he wanted him to have it.  He tells her to please let Jake know that he realizes he has made mistakes and he is doing everything he can to be a better person; Liz says “we hope so.”  Kevin happens to come in and ask Franco if he wants to talk; once in the office, Franco admits he is “an enigma.”  He says he knows he has to examine everything about his life, even the scary parts, but he doesn’t want to; Kevin tells him they will figure out where to start.  Kevin suggests hypnotherapy; Franco laughs at the idea.  Kevin tells him, if he doesn’t take it serious, it won’t work.  Franco tells Kevin he needs to know what happened to him and says, “let’s do it.

Maxie arrives at the police station for Nathan’s ceremony; he is being awarded the badge of Valor.  It is hard for her to see his desk sitting there without him behind it; she sits down in his chair.  Griffin’s younger brother apparently now has Nathan’s desk, and asks what Maxie is doing in his chair; she tells him it was her husband’s desk and just sits there.  He introduces himself as “Harrison Chase” and says everyone just calls him Chase; she says if he wants to fill Nathan’s shoes, he has to be kind, generous and trustworthy.  Only then will he be “true to this desk” she adds.  She leaves.

Peter is appalled when Griffin tells him that he ran a DNA test and he knows he is Cesar’s son; Peter (Hienrik) angrily says he shouldn’t have to pay for his father’s sins.  Griffin tells him he isn’t innocent in this, by any means; he begs Peter to turn himself in.  He refuses, saying “then my father wins.”  Nina meets with Curtis, and asks him to check into Peter August; he asks her why she isn’t “vibing” with Peter.  Peter tells Griffin he “tried to be like him.”  He says the “evil didn’t take” and swears he saved Jason’s life because he defied his father’s orders by keeping him at the clinic.  Peter says he was trying to help the people that his father hurt; he says what he has done will never be enough and he knows that… and that’s why they can never know who he is.  He’s afraid they will never believe he wasn’t in on his father’s plan somehow; that he doesn’t despise everything that man stood for.  Griffin asks how anything he’s done matters if no one knows he’s done it; he says he doesn’t need them to know.  Maxie comes in and interrupts; Griffin exits abruptly.  She asks if everything is okay; Peter says, “I think so.”

Jason asks Finn about the night Cesar was transferred; he tells him what he knows, but it’s not much.  He wishes Jason luck finding what he is looking for; Jason runs into Elizabeth in the hallway.  He asks her what’s wrong; she says she’s okay and ask if everything is okay with him.  He tells her he’s looking for Faison’s personal effects; Liz says she knows who to ask about it.  She tells Jason that Faison’s belongings were signed out to Anna DeVane that night.

Anna talks to Andre; she is afraid things might get violent between Jason and Heinrik, adding she wouldn’t blame Jason if they did really.  She says she knows Jason won’t weigh the consequences if he appears to be doing anything threatening; she says her only fear is that she’ll never know if her son has any of her in him.  She says to know that for sure, she has to find him; Andre says that’s what they’ll do then.  He leaves when he sees Finn walk in; Finn comes over and says hi to Anna, but they don’t really talk.  As he walks away, she mumbles to herself that she can’t believe Alexis thinks he’s easy to talk to; he sort of hears and asks what that was.  She tells him what Alexis asked her, and says she is fine with it; Finn shakes his head.
