Kiki leaves
Bensch a message to meet her at Kelly’s so they can “talk about what happened
last night.” When he gets there, she
tells him she is turning down the shadow program, and going to the board from
there to tell the committee to pick a new candidate; Bensch protests for her
not to. He tells her that he really
thought she had been giving him “signals” but he understands now that he
“misread them” and they are good. He
tells her it’s a special program and she really shouldn’t turn it down. She says she knows how special it is, adding
that she wouldn’t want him to think she owes him anything and wouldn’t want any
special favors, if she did take the position.
He holds his hands up and swears he won’t touch her again; he says they
have a “good rapport” anyway and he wants to keep it that way. Kiki looks disgusted and says she has to go;
she gets up from the table and leaves.
Drew leaves Oscar and Kim to go to the
hospital; Julian stops by. Kim is happy
to see him, but seems more distant. He
asks her why, and she admits that she never really got over Drew; she says he
doesn’t even remember being in love with her though, so there’s no hope for
anything there. Oscar stands outside
the door listening. Julian tells Kim
that he would like to continue where they left off last night; she says nothing
needs to change.
Franco lets Kevin hypnotize him, but he doesn’t go very far
under at first; he resists and nothing comes to him. Kevin tries again, taking him “deeper” talking him down by
counting and telling him to go way under so he feels no emotion, only
memory. It works at first, but then,
when Kevin tells Franco to wake up, Franco sees Jim Harvey instead of
Kevin. He jumps backward onto the
floor, screaming, “no, no… no, no.”
Kevin finally gets him back under control and counts him up again,
making certain he is awake, before leaving him in his office to go check on
Betsy.
Drew went to talk to Betsy, for his and Franco’s sake; he says he has to
know what happened and thinks she might tell him. He thanks Betsy for taking him in as a child, and for trying to
protect him when she gave him away; she is happy to see him. But right when he is asking about Jim
Harvey, Jim steps into the doorway wearing a doctor’s coat. Betsy screams and passes out. Elizabeth brings Jake to the hospital; he’s
excited when he sees Drew and hugs him.
But when he sees Franco, he runs into his arms and holds onto him; he
tells him he misses him, and wants him to come home. Franco says he wants that too, but explains that he isn’t feeling
well lately and he needs to “get better first.” He says, he hopes that they will welcome him back when he is
ready; Jake says, “for sure.” Elizabeth
just smiles; Franco tells her, he misses her, as he hugs Jake again.
They leave; as they stop to put things in
Jake’s backpack before getting into the car, Jim stands in the parking garage,
lurking. He looks at them and smiles,
as if he’s just found his ride.
