Nathan comes home from
his all night shift to find Maxie standing at the door. Maxie is upset that Nathan doesn’t want to
be Man Landers anymore; she tells him getting her job back depends on it. Amy is disappointed when she learns that
Chet isn’t on his way yet after all; more so, that there is no explanation for
the delay. Maxie manages to talk the
two of them into letting her do just one article before killing Man Landers for
good.
Michael tells Dante that the “new Jason” never really felt like Jason to him; he’s been told about this other man his mother and father believe is Jason. Dante asks what Michael thinks; he says he won’t know for sure until he sees him.
Sam dreams; she remembers Jason holding her and saying, “you’re here.” She remembers hearing ‘Jason’ telling her “I’m your Jason.” She opens her eyes and sees them both standing there, staring at her; when she clears her eyes, it just her current husband. ‘Jason’ explains to her what happened, and then tells her that the other man she saw, who rescued her, was indeed real. When she asks who this man is, ‘Jason’ tells her, “he claims he’s me.” He tells her that Carly and Sonny also believe he is him; he says Sonny let it slip out – he says it’s like “they had this secret handshake between them.” Sam recollects being in Jason’s arms; she mentions Sonny’s house, asking if he took her there. ‘Jason’ says yes and then tells her how this other man reacted to Sonny, not putting her down until Sonny said it was okay, then backing off.
Andre is shocked when he walks into his office and sees a screaming Halloween decoration; Franco stands behind the door and asks him to confirm that Andrew is alive. He laughs about the decoration being a dead kid, rising from the grave; Andre doesn’t find it amusing. He says he knows the death certificate was just to keep him from finding out the truth; he asks Andre if he was involved with the shooting and if it all revolves around Andrew. Andre admits that Andrew is alive. He says he “tampered with somebody’s mind, messed with his memory, and now two people think they are the same person.” He admits that he invented a program to copy of person’s memory and put them into another person; since the WSB didn’t want to risk it, he found other means… another doctor offered to back him.
He was brought a patient and was paid to try the technique before it was truly perfected; five years ago, he says, he was brought a shooting victim who had been pulled from the water. Franco realizes that was Jason Morgan; he then ponders whether the Jason he has come to “get along with” over the past few years “remembers the bad things” he did to him and Sam, and if the other is the one who actually “lived it” or if it’s the other way around. He asks, “who’s who?… what’s what?” Andre is packing the things from his office, frantically, as Franco asks, “who is Jason?” He insists Andre must know; Andre says he has sent a document to the printer that will tell him everything he needs to know. Franco looks over and sees the printer printing; Andre darts out the door. Franco looks at the printed paper and says, “oh my God.”
Carly is on the phone with Diane; Diane tells her Jason isn’t at the station anymore. She asks where he is; he walks in the door. She runs to him and hugs him; hanging onto him, she says she loves him so much. He tells her to take a breath. They talk… he explains what he has been through, and how he learned that he had lost five years of his life. He goes on to say that it could have been worse; he could have come back to find that something had happened to her or Sonny or Michael or Danny or Sam; he says, instead he gained two people… Robin and Jake. He tells her he is sad about Morgan; she nods. They talk about how much he grew in those five years; she tells him that he had bipolar disorder, but quickly changes the subject to him being back again. She says he should go see Sam; Jason asks if “that guy who says he’s me” loves her… Carly says, “very much.” He asks if he is good to her; she says yes. Still, she says, they love each other too and she deserves to know he’s alive. He goes to Sam’s hospital room and walks in; she turns and sees him. She says, “it is you.” He say, “yeah, it’s me.”
