Tuesday, July 31, 2018 (S56E): Where’s Anna?

Robert tells Finn that Anna disappeared about a month ago; Finn is confused.  Robert asks when Finn last heard her voice and Finn says it was as she was driving to the airport; he tells Finn Anna never made it to the airport and never made her flight.  Finn tells Robert he is willing to do whatever he can to help Anna; Robert tells him to get a good night’s sleep.  He has arrangements to make.

The D.A. (Margaux) takes a look at the flash drive she found in the envelope with Drew’s name on it.  Drew talks to Curtis about accepting his life, as it is laid out before him now; Curtis says he understands that, and it sounds good, if he is able to do it.  Margaux comes into the bar; she tells Drew that she knows everything now and she apologizes for what he’s gone through.  He says he wouldn’t know how painful it was, because he doesn’t remember.  She starts talking about him having his brother’s memories and then apologizes again and again; he tells her it’s fine and she awkwardly leaves the table.

Michael tells his dad to go and leave him there; Sonny refuses.  Michael says he needs to find Nelle and make sure the baby is okay.  Sonny lifts him up and helps him away from the car, just before it explodes into flames.  Nelle is on the ground now, screaming with contractions; Obrect tells her to open her skinny legs and push.  Sonny and Michael find the van; they tell Chase what just happened and he tells them what happened with the van.  They wait on an ambulance for Michael; Chase tells Sonny that the commissioner got called away because a “single gunman broke (Carly) out of Ferncliff tonight.”  He asks if Sonny knows anything about it; Sonny says no.  Of course, he goes straight to the safe house, assuming that it was Jason; he tells Carly everything that happened.  He says Nelle walked away from the accident and hasn’t been found.Brad lifts his baby from the crib and begins chest compressions; he begs Wiley to be okay.

Next thing we see is Lucas getting Brad’s message; Lucas tries to return the call, but when Brad’s phone rings, it is in his car… Brad has driven to the woods, with the baby in a basket.  He is asking “why?”  He begs God to please let this be a bad dream; all of the sudden Nelle emerges from the trees, yelling for help.  Brad sees her; she has her baby in her arms… it’s a boy as well.  Of course she doesn’t tell Brad the entire truth about the conversation between her and Michael, but when he tells her she is luckier than she knows, he glances into the backseat of his car; she asks what’s up, and he tells her he and Lucas got their son tonight.  She tells Brad to take her baby; she says she has to leave town… she says Michael tricked her into confessing to all kinds of things she didn’t do.  Brad doesn’t feel right about it, but she convinces him it is the best alternative for everyone; she says she would rather he and Lucas raise her child than Michael.

Walking by the side of the road, with a dead baby in her arms, Nelle is picked by Chase and take to the hospital; Michael sees her.  Brad hands ‘their son’ to Lucas, who revels in his happiness as he holds him and declares him Wiley Cooper Jones.  Michael asks to hold their baby, and Nelle hands it to him… Michael is devastated when he notices the baby is dead.  She tells him, “our baby didn’t make it.”
