Thursday, August 23, 2018 (S56E102): Happy Birthday

Jason and Carly enjoy a game of pool; they toast to Jonah.  She feels guilty about having fun.  She worries that Julian is plotting to take down Sonny.  Kevin sits at the bar; Lucy can tell something is wrong.  The patient from the cell next to Carly’s former one (who looks exactly like Kevin) is begging the guard to help him; he says there is a dangerous criminal out there.”  The guard asks what he can do to help; Lucy tells Kevin she knows him and can tell when he is “going into that dark, broody place.”  He politely asks her to butt out and mind her own business.  Carly sees Kevin and asks him about her “neighbor” back at Ferncliff; Kevin says he is getting the best care possible… he is seeing to that personally.  Carly tells Jason she is thankful Ferncliff is just a bad memory now, and she almost feels guilty for the patients that are still stuck there.  The guard gives Carly’s former neighbor a drink; he thanks him for his kindness, saying the staff there now are much better than the ones that were there before.  He tells him to please not tell his doctor that he told him who he was, or he might kill them both.  Kevin comes back to Ferncliff; he thanks the guard, Gordon, and tells him he can leave them alone.  He lights the candle on the cupcake Lucy gave him and says, “hello brother… happy birthday.”

Anna and Finn are taken in to see Cassandra; Finn says, “there is no way he can save “this patient.”  Robert and Jordan review the evidence and try to track them; Finn tells the men that Cassandra appears to be highly contagious… he hands them paper masks and tells them to put them on, in case it’s not already too late.  He sends them to the store for supplies; Anna assumes Cassandra is not even the least bit contagious.  Finn tells her, “if she were, these masks wouldn’t do a thing.”  He figures out a way to wake Cassandra up, temporarily.  Anna tells her that she needs to help them.  Chase comes in angry that no one has told him that Finn is missing; he wants to help.  Jordan says he is too close to this, but he points out that they are closer to both Finn and Anna than he is to Finn; if he dies now, he says, “I’ll never get a chance to know him.”  Anna tells Cassandra they woke her so she could help them figure out who kidnapped them; she tells Anna to go to hell.  Anna explains how she’s been in a coma for eight months, which surprises her, and says during that time, she contracted that rare blood disease she was pretending to have before.  Finn tells her congratulations; he says he can cure it, if she helps them.

Bensch mocks Kiki in the hospital hallway; about how respected he is; he tells her he has a new lawyer and he is appealing the whole thing, as he walks off.   Liz tells her “there isn’t a nurse on staff who will lift a finger for that man; she says they have her back.  Bensch returns to the desk, looking angry; he tells Kiki he just got fired.  Kiki and Elizabeth smile.  Franco takes the boys out, supposedly shopping for school clothes; they end up at the park, talking about what else they want to do.  The little one, Aiden, mentions a video game he would like to get, but is made fun of by his older brother, Cameron; Cam says it’s “a girl’s game.”  Franco says it doesn’t matter what his brother says, but Aiden says he doesn’t like that game anymore.  Franco sends the little ones for ice cream and tells Cameron that was a “total crap apology.”  Cameron brings up “all the people” Franco has killed and asks if they accepted his apology; Franco looks angry.
