Thursday, May 31, 2018 (S56E42): The Secret is Out

Jason says he was just on his way out to meet Spenelli, but Sam insists it’s important; it’s about Drew, she says.  Drew tells Andre he is ready to go forward with the procedure; he hands him a DNR… in case it goes the wrong way.  Sam tells Jason about the flash drive and says Peter is willing to trade it for his freedom; she also tells him that Drew had already been there and turned down this offer.  He said he is will to take the risk; Jason realizes Sam can’t.  Leisel sees Anna and tells her it’s her fault her son is dead.  Griffin overhears and tells Leisel to leave; he asks Anna what that was all about.  She tells Griffin Peter, who is actually Heinrik, is also actually her son.  She says he prefers the name Peter, though.  She remembers Griffin saying he had tested a patient for Huntington’s and questions, if that was Peter; Griffin says he can’t disclose that information.  She understands.  They say goodbye and Griffin goes to see Ava.Valentin tells Heinrik he is sorry; Heinrik say she should be.

Valentin admits that he knew he was Anna’s daughter and that he took him to Faison to punish her; he claims he has regretted it every day since.  He asks why he never told Faison that he was Anna’s son; Valentin says it was strategy… Cesar would have been obsessed with him if he knew he was Anna’s and would have never been able to break free.  He says he owes his life as Peter August to him; Valentin tells Peter that he should let Anna help, but that only makes Peter angry.  He doesn’t believe she gave him up to protect him; she says he was just an inconvenience to her she couldn’t wait to get rid of.

Ava gets a visit from Dr. Bensch; he tells her Kiki seems “off lately” and asks if anything is going on in her personal life.  Ava asks what he means; he says she’s been late, not on her game, easily distracted, looking at her phone at the time… Ava talks about Avery missing a week ago and says Kiki just has a lot going on.  Bensch tells Ava that he thinks Kiki has great potential to be a good doctor, but he has seen even the best interns “snap” (hinting that he has seen some make up wild stories to make up for lacking grades).  He claims he is there to get something to spruce up his office; Ava gives him her card, and he gives her, his.  He says he hopes Kiki knows what a lucky young lady she is to have such a strong support system, and leaves.  When Griffin shows up, Ava asks him what’s going on with Kiki; he looks like a deer caught in headlights.  She mentions the visit from Dr. Bensch, but he just shakes his head; he tells her about what’s going on with Peter and Anna.  He says he feels bad because he thinks he could have done something; Ava realizes that’s what the test was he didn’t have permission to run.  He says he is going to tell Anna about the test he ran; Ava says that’s the last thing she should do.  She says Anna won’t forgive him and then she looses his friendship, calling it a selfish thing to do.  She tells him she will keep his secret.

When Sam and Jason go to see Peter in jail, they find Valentin sitting in the cell; he says Peter over powered him and escaped.  They don’t believe him; Anna shows up, looking for Peter as well… they tell her he’s gone.  Peter sneaks into a the office at Crimson, looking for something; he finds it – the flash drive.  Someone comes up behind him and tazes him; he falls to the ground.  We see him being drug away, but do not see who is dragging him.

(Patty McCormick) is playing the role of Monica again.  Kiki tells her she needs to file a complaint against Dr. Bensch; Monica listens to Kiki’s story, and says she is sorry that happened under her watch.  She asks if there are any witnesses to Dr. Bensch’s behavior; Kiki says once Dillon saw him comforting her after Morgan’s death… but she says she “let him” and Liz reminds her that she is responsible for anything.  Kiki says otherwise, he made all of his advances in private; Monica doesn’t appear to believe her necessarily.  She tells Kiki that HR has to handle this; she says they will do their best to keep her anonymity.  Kiki fears that Bensch will know the claim came from her as soon as it comes out that a complaint has been filed.  Monica tells Kiki, if he is found guilty, he would only be suspended; the paper would remain in his file, but that’s all.  He wouldn’t be fired; Kiki says she can’t let him do this to anyone else, so she wants to go ahead and file the complaint.  Bensch sees Kiki coming out of Monica’s office, and smiles a creepish smile at her.
