Bobbie thanks her family for celebrating
her birthday with her; Carly remarks that not everyone is there. Michael asks Nelle to go with him to his
grandmother’s reception after all; she says she doesn’t think so. She tells him she is still mad for his
judgment of her over keeping Zach’s ring; he says he’s sorry and asks if they
can just forget about the ring. She
also tells him that she thinks he is beginning to believe Sharon and everybody
else; he gets a little angry and said he thought they could get past this, and
asks if he was wrong. He says he would
rather just agree to disagree than to argue, even though he likes the “make up
process.” She still turns down his
offer to go out, saying she has to work, and going to brunch with Bobbie would
be a terrible idea; he says the only way they can change things is to show
up. He says they have to interact with
his family so they get used to her; he says he won’t go without her but she
ushers him out the door. Lucas and Brad
aren’t there either; Bobbie wonders why.
Valerie seems to know something and mentions that they have been
considering adoption… Bobbie says if they will give her a grandchild, she’ll
forgive them for missing her brunch.
Valentin, Nina, Dante and Lulu agree to be
civil for Charlotte’s sake; they agree to joint custody and talk to Charlotte
about it. She says it’s cool, as long
as Santa will be able to find her. When
they talk about where Charlotte will be spending Christmas and Thanksgiving,
Lulu doesn’t seem to be willing to give.
Laura laughs; she tells Bobbie that Lulu and Dante are on their way, but
they had to pick up Charlotte first.
Bobbie compliments Laura for handling that situation with grace;
Valentin tells Lulu that her mother threatened him with a gun earlier. Charlotte comes down ready to go; Nina asks
Valentin when he was going to tell her about Laura attacking him. She is more than upset. Nina questions him about Thanksgiving; he
says a lot can happen between now and then.
He gets a phone call; she gets up to go to work. All we hear Valentin say is to keep him
updated. Nina arrives at the office and asks Nelle to go get her a
Mocha from the restaurant upstairs… she hesitates. Nina asks why and she tells her, Bobbie’s brunch is going on
upstairs. Nina gives her the same
advice Maxie once gave to Nina; “fake it until you make it.” She tells her to just act like they don’t bother
her and she will soon gain their respect. Michael shows up at the brunch and is welcomed. When Michael sees Nelle come in to get coffee, he insists that she come over to greet the family; Bobbie is rude to her as usual and Nelle leaves, telling Michael she knew it was a bad idea. When Lulu and Dante arrive at dinner, Lulu questions her mother about
the gun. Laura says she just snapped;
Lulu tells her they have to play it safe from now on because Valentin holds all
the cards.
Griffin takes Ava to the hospital to make sure no damage was done to
her face at that clinic; she wonders if she’s done the right thing, helping
Patient 6 escape. She starts to tell
him about how she and Nikolas met and why they became friends; she says Nikolas
saved her from a man named Huxley Lynch.
She says she promised Nikolas she would try to be a better person in the
future; to help others, now she regrets selling him out to fix her face. She tells Griffin he doesn’t need to worry
about her anymore; their business is officially concluded, she says. She thanks Griffin for helping her to become
human again; they talk about the ‘misunderstanding.’ He swears he’s never pitied her and admits that he really cared,
but was only focusing on his feelings.
He tells her he doesn’t want to lose her friendship, saying she means
too much to him. The doctor is ready to
see her now.
Valentin walks into Ava’s examination room; he asks if she had
trouble with her stay at the clinic.
She tells him if she hadn’t had to run for her life, she could have
finished the treatment; Valentin says he only made the connection. It’s her own fault if she couldn’t behave at
the clinic. Ava threatens to take back
her retraction, and tell the court that he killed Nikolas; he tells her they
made a “vast improvement” in her face and she should show him gratitude. She goes to punch him; he catches her
arm. Griffin comes in and tells
Valentin to get his hands off of her; he says he won’t let him hurt her and
tells him to leave the room. Ava asks
Griffin why he keeps wasting his time with her; he says because he has faith in
her.
Sam brings Jason home; there’s a sign from the kids welcoming him home even
though they are somewhere else. He says
he is glad to be home; she tells him he will always find his way back to his
family. He suggests, since the kids
aren’t home, they go to the bedroom; she says the doctors told him to take it
easy and he says she’ll just have to be gentle with him then. In bed, he talks about getting a normal job,
but says he has no skill sets; to the rest of the world he is just “a blank
slate.” He says he has been thinking
about a new career though; he says he wants to get a few things straightened
out and she’ll be the first to know.
They discuss what he should do with his free time in the meantime; they
decide to make love again. Our familiar ‘Jason’ (Patient 6) has a man tied to a
chair; he swears to the man it was only for self defense. This man tells Patient 6 that he thought
someone had sent him after him; this man introduces himself as Huxley
Lynch. He inquires about Patient 6’s
name, but gets no answer. The man
offers him a newspaper to read; the date says October 1, 2017. Patient 6 asks how the year could be right; Lynch
is confused
