Nina begins defending Valentin; Anna
interrupts her and says she has no ill-will toward her or Valentine. Nina asks why she is so obsessed with him;
Anna says Valentin is the one who is obsessed with her. Nina gets upset and says she is tired of
everyone picking on her husband, insisting he is a good man. Nina sees the picture on Anna’s computer;
she asks if that’s him. She says yes. She tells Anna what Valentin’s version of
events were; she says it wasn’t that bad, she tried to let him down
gently. Nina tells her that she is
shallow and thoughtless and cruel, and that’s why Valentin makes her
uncomfortable, because she feels guilty, adding that she should. Nina tells her it’s hard to find out that
you are not so beautiful after all and leaves.
Lulu suggests that she and Valentin has things out,
just her and him. She tells him she is
willing to accept joint custody for now; he tells her his offer is
rescinded. She gets very angry and
begins yelling; Nina comes in and asks what’s going on. Lulu says he doesn’t know what he just
started; she leaves in a huff. Nina
comes back as Lulu is leaving; she tells him she went to see Anna and admits
that she saw the picture of him…she says she is glad she saw it. She understands his strength and courage
now; she says she admires him and tells him again how much he means to her. Anna makes a phone call, asking about the
picture, which she is told doesn’t exist – she says she is looking at it right
now; the picture becomes pixilated and disappears right before her eyes.
Michael
finds Nelle sitting in the park – she was contemplating throwing the silver
rattle away, I think. He says it’s
obvious she has something on her mind.
She says it’s the anniversary of her father’s death, and even though she
didn’t have the happiest of childhoods, she has a nice memory of sitting out on
the grass and looking up at the stars with him. It makes her still feel connected; she points out the
constellation Orion. Michael mentions
a story of Orion in mythology, as the guy who almost wiped out all the animals
in the world to quench his bloodlust.
Nelle excuses herself; Michael asks if he crossed the line again. She tells him he didn’t do anything wrong;
he admits his mother told him that she was seeing someone – and stutters about
the fact that he might be married. She
swears she never said that to Carly and says there’s other reasons she hasn’t
told about it; Michael questions if its abusive. She says no, just older than her; the kind of guy that doesn’t
want to be tied down…she says it’s casual, more like an arrangement than a
relationship and that’s all she wants right know, claiming it works for
her. She says she has to catch the bus;
Michael offers to give her a ride, just as friends.
Bobbi offers to help Carly
put together a family tree album for Joslyn’s class; Carly is shocked to see
Sonny being handcuffed when they arrive.
He tells her everything is okay and he will tell her about it later;
he’s going in for a supposed spine issue, but Carly can tell it’s something
else. Bobbi and Carly laugh about how
far they have come, from her traveling across the country to ruin her mother’s
life, to this wonderful relationship they have now. They hug. Sam confronts
her father; she asks what he did to her husband. He denies doing anything; she says she knows he did it. Sonny comes in and sees them; he asks
Griffin if he can go see Jason while they are waiting for the x-rays to come
back; Griffin consents. Sonny remarks
that he’ll be back because his word means something. Jason tells Sonny that he is out, reiterating that he told him he
cannot get involved in Sonny’s business anymore; he says he can’t put his
children in danger anymore. Julian
listens outside of the door, as Sonny tells him the person who killed Morgan is
still out there. Jason apologizes but
says he can’t sacrifice his family. The
nurse comes to tell Julian they are ready for him; Sonny continues to yell at
Jason as Julian walks off. Sam closes
the door and says they are clear. They
are hoping to make Julian and his boss think they are no longer a threat. Sam apologizes for her father; Jason says he
doesn’t matter. They are what is
important.
Nelle and Michael arrive at Sonny’s; Michael is surprised to see the
photo of his mom and her adoptive father, Frank Benson. Carly says he left her mom and her when she
was three; left them flat. She says her
mom didn’t talk much about Frank and she always got the impression that he was
a sad, and bitter man. She says she
could care less about Frank, but she loves Virginia – she raised her - sadly
she died right after Michael was born.
She reminisces about going to the beach with Jason and Michael, at 4
months old. Nelle listens
intently. She looks sad; she goes over
to look at a baby photo of Carly.
Bobbie comes in and questions why she is interested in that photo; Nelle
tells her to back off. Bobbie tells her
a story about a cat in their neighborhood when she was a kid, who attacked when
backed into a corner, as she backs Nelle up to the wall. Carly comes back in the room to find Nelle
almost in tears; she asks her mom what she’s done to her. Nelle says it’s nothing; she says she just
needs to get going and she leaves. Michael
tells his mom she has just been pretty emotional lately, probably thinking
about her family. Bobbie excuses
herself to go home; she makes a call to someone, asking this person to check
out Nelle Hays. Nelle talks to her
rattle again; says she thought about letting this all go, letting the past be
the past and starting something with Michael…but, she says, she could never be
completely honest with him; and after hearing Carly talk about all of her
accomplishes, about her past, “she deserves everything that’s coming…” to have her
“world come crashing down on her.”
