Michael listens to his
mother’s message on Morgan’s phone; then he hears Kiki’s messages, pleading for
Morgan to reach out to her. She says
it’s important; they needed to talk. He
looks at family photos; Jason shows up to see him. Michael starts blaming himself, for not being there to protect
Morgan like a big brother should have when he knew he was in trouble. He should have made sure he was on top of
his meds, seeing his therapist – instead he was wrapped up in his own
life. Jason insists that there was
nothing anyone could have done about this; Morgan was a victim of terrible circumstances. He was there and he couldn’t stop it; he
tells Michael to stop blaming himself.
He reminds him of how many times he was there for him.
Jordan and Nathan look for evidence as to
who planted the bomb. Dante shows up
for work; they question if he’s sure he wants to be there. TJ shows up; Jordan hugs him. Dante and Nathan talk; Dante says this
doesn’t feel real… his little brother, he should have been there for him. Then he frets about not being to get through
to his father; he feels like a failure as a cop and a brother. TJ and Jordan talk; she apologizes for not
being there for him when he was younger, and he tells her he understands. Then he starts talking about Morgan, and how
he tried to stop him, to stall him; he thought he was getting through to him,
and then Morgan sucker-punched him.
Lulu
goes to see Maxie; Maxie is so busy talking about her wedding and the magazine
that she doesn’t notice the look of despair on Lulu’s face. Then she does; Lulu tells her Morgan is
dead. Maxie hugs her, saying she is so
sorry. She asks how Dante is, and Lulu
tells her, like he should have stopped it; she tells her it was a bomb, not
meant for Morgan. Lulu asks about
Charlotte – Maxie admits she is hoping the girl is not Nathan’s. Nina and Dillon talk at work; he tells her
that Kiki was going to break up with Morgan last night to be with him.
Kiki breaks down as she talks to Franco,
telling him she felt like a horrible person because she was getting ready to
break up with him; walking away from someone she loved when they needed her most. Even worse, she says, that she was breaking
up with him to be will Dillon. She
tells Franco she was unfaithful, kissing Dillon…it was disloyal. She says it’s her fault Morgan got drunk and
stole the car. Franco tries to explain
the physiological problems with people like Morgan and people like him; Kiki
tells him she knows he is trying to help but she can’t do this right now. She leaves.
As she curls up on her couch, sobbing, Dillon comes to the door; she
ignores him at first, but then answers it. Michael overhears her telling Dillon about the voicemail she left
for Morgan when she was getting ready to break up with him. Michael gets pissed, and begins to berate
Kiki, accusing her of being the one who put him in that car and killed
him. Dillon tries to intervene; they
push each other. Kiki says it’s all
true; she is never going to forgive herself for this. She tells Dillon she cannot look at him anymore. She tells Michael she is so sorry; he says
he’s sorry too.
Claudette brings
Charlotte to meet her father; Dante tells Nathan to go spend the day with
her. He tells Charlotte he wants her to
meet Maxie; Claudette looks irritated.
They arrive at Maxie’s; she is surprised to see Charlotte, but she is
very sweet to her. She tells Nathan,
though, that doesn’t think there’s anyway that’s his daughter.
