02-23-2017 (Thursday) Quests

Julian’s inside man on the hospital board calls him for a meeting at an out-of-the-way cafĂ©; he tells him that the Quartermaines have pooled all their money and put another offer on the table.  Julian says he will up his offer; the man says he thinks it’s beyond numbers now…it’s become a community issue.  He tells him to be prepared that vote may go the other way; Julian grabs him and says that’s not acceptable.  The man says it’s just business, not life or death; Julian says, where he’s from, it is and warns the man to remember that.  The man walks away, looking frightened, but says he doesn’t know what he can do so far as other board members go.

Anna appears to be packing her bag, still dressed in her hospital gown; Valentine walks in her room.  She takes a step back; she tells her that she learned she had ordered his assassination, but says she doesn’t have any recollection of giving an order like that.  She says she needs answers and begs him to tell her what she doesn’t remember.  Robin breaks the news about her mother to Jason; she asks what his text was about.  He says, “Olivia Jerome.”  Liv holds Sam at gunpoint and introduces herself to Sam as her “father’s dead sister” – her Aunt Olivia.  She tells Sam they don’t want anything happening to the baby, warning her not to move; she plans to hold Sam hostage until she deals with Julian.  Robin questions why Jason wants to know about a dead woman; he explains.  She tells him Olivia Jerome was crazy and dangerous and hated her mother with a passion; she recounts her parents history with this woman, describing it as psychopathic.  She reveals that Olivia caused the miscarriage of her mom and Duke’s baby, adding that she knew, even as a child that it wasn’t an accident and no one was safe from that woman.  Jason questions Olivia’s desire for revenge; Robin comments that she is surprised she did rise up from the dead to kill Julian herself.  Nina talks to Curtis at the bar, describing her wedding evening (mentioning the break-in at their house last night), while Anna still pleads with Valentin, asking what he has wanted all along.

Robin comes into the room and tells Valentin to get away from her mother; Nina tells Curtis about their interactions with Anna and says she is practically stalking them, adding it’s like she’s obsessed with him.  Curtis doesn’t buy it; he says maybe Valentin is not telling Nina everything.  As Olivia holds the gun on Sam, she recollects and narrates her family history to Sam, she begins to cry; Sam says she understands, but Liv says she can’t understand and becomes even more frustrated about the unfairness of everything.  She tells Sam, unless she wants to be collateral damage, she should get in the car; she begins to walk and has a contraction (or appears to); then lunges at Olivia, knocking the gun out of her hand.  She slaps her and calls her pathetic and starts to walk away again; Olivia grabs her and pushes her backwards over the chain.  Sam falls and lands on the metal wall, rolling the rest of the way down its slant and hits the icy ground, out cold.

Hayden talks with Griffin and determines that Finn is still taking Zen-zen; he talks to Roxy after shooting up again, and says he is going to get off the junk as soon as he’s done recovering.  Minutes later, Finn trembles as he is feeding Roxy; he determines that he has built up a tolerance and decides to inject another does.  “Just this once,” he tells Roxy.  Hayden leaves the hospital to try to find him.  She knocks on his hotel room door, but gets no response; she walks away as the camera pans to inside the room, where Finn lay on his back, passed out cold.

Griffin tells Anna that she is not due to be released tonight, they need to watch her reaction to the medication and she needs to be extra careful not to get hurt now.  She gets upset about her career being over and Robin reminds her that she and her children still need her around; Anna agrees to stay overnight.  A police officer comes in and says he has to place Anna under arrest for breaking and entering. Valentin tells Nina that he won’t let anything or anyone intrude on the beautiful future they are building together; they toast to their future.

02-22-2017 (Wednesday) The Drive - A Secret Discovered

Ava screams for a guard; Julian is the one who shows up at her cell.  She tells him she is only happy to see him if he is there to get her out; she begs him to tell the police the truth – that it wasn’t her he was talking to in that recording.  How much means to him… not as much as her… reminds him of all she’s done for him; he promises to get her out soon.  She asks how; he tells her he has talked to Alexis and she will handle it.  She asks how long that will be; he says Alexis will receive the instructions as soon as she doesn’t hear from him.  Ava is confused.

Jason sees Monica; tells her Sam had an appointment, but somebody must have gotten their wires crossed because it didn’t happen.  Thanks him for his contribution to save the hospital; gives him an old blanket that was his as a toddler.  Liv hears Sam say ‘reincarnation’ and is impressed; she asks if she knows these symbols.  Sam says not really; she tells Liv the story of her marriage to Jason at the Chinese restaurant, and says the owner told her the story of the dragon and the Pheonix, so she is familiar with the concept of reincarnation.

Hayden crunches the final numbers and tells Monica and Tracy that she thinks they did it; it looks like they can keep the hospital open.  Tracy reminds them that the board can still sell the hospital out from under them; Monica is surprised that they have to outbid the developers.  Tracy tells her that half of the board members are bloodsuckers, only concerned with a payday; she points out Fred Grey, whom, she is convinced made some side deals with the developers.  Hayden says that’s illegal; Tracy says it doesn’t matter, because they don’t have time to prove it.  All they have to do is convince the board members to sell to them tomorrow.

Carly calls Nelle; checking to see how things are going at the cabin.  Nelle, of course, is not receiving the message.  Michael helps Nelle out of the tub; tells her the fire will finish warming her up.  He tries to kiss her and she pulls away again; she says, “I can’t.”  Michael looks disappointed.  Sonny hears Carly on the phone and asks what that was all about; she tells him it’s a surprise.  She has to run some errands and tells him she’ll be back; Sonny calls Jason and tells him they need to talk.  Jason shows up; Sonny tells him that it turns out Julian has another sister… Jason says he knows.  He and Sam did some digging; he had an older sister, Olivia, who died years ago.  They discuss the possibility that maybe Olivia isn’t dead after all.  Michael tries to make apologies to Nelle, but then tells her he wouldn’t interfere if he felt she was at all happy with this arrangement (the one with her non-existent married ‘boyfriend’).  She insists that she is.

Carly goes to get a bottle of champagne from the Metro Court; Bobbie is in her office.  Bobbie says she wants to chat before Carly heads out of town and offers to help her go through the mail while they talk.  Carly says the mail will have to wait because she needs to get going; she says she and Sonny really deserve this trip.  Bobbie tells her that the roads have been closed because of the storm; Carly’s expression changes to concern.  She goes to see Sonny.  Jason tells Sonny that Julian killed is sister, Olivia, in 1990; Sonny determines that there’s a good chance she survived – and probably killed Morgan, Jason adds.  The more he thinks about it, the more it makes sense, he says; Carly walks in and interrupts the conversation.  She tells Sonny there is no more surprise; she tells him what it was.  He says they have everything they need right there; they can still enjoy their 'getaway' together, at home.

Nelle yells at Michael; she tells him the deck has always been stacked against her and she has decided to settle for satisfaction.  He asks her how she could possibly think that; she replies, “because I don’t deserve to be happy.”  Michael hugs her and reminds her how wonderful he thinks she is.  She says he doesn’t know the things she has done; he says she could tell him anything, he will still be there, adding that he is right about her.  They sit down, he tells her that he is arrogant, determined and has a tendency to gloat; he likes to be right and he believes he is right about her.  She tells him she thinks she is ready for a new path, now smiling.  He puts his arm around her and asks if he is on that new path of hers

Monica and Tracy, along with Hayden, delight in their potential win; Hayden goes to call Finn and is disappointed when she cant get a hold of him.  She finds out he cancelled his hotel reservation and no one knows where he is.  Ava asks Julian who it is that he is afraid of; she begs him to trust her, because they are blood.  He looks at the text and refuses to tell him anything; she gets mad and tells him he is dead to her (again).  He says she doesn’t even know how right she is.  Liv tells Sam about her ‘defifning’ moment of reincarnation, being when she became clean and sober (supposedly); Sam tries to get Liv to drop her off by the footbridge.  Liv says she can’t do that; Sam gets out and Liv follows her, stepping in front on her on the bridge after Sam drops her phone.  She tells Sam it’s time they tell each other what they know; Sam tries to walk away, but Liv pulls a gun on her.  Bobbie is on the phone, and finds out something about Nelle; exactly what she was afraid of, she says.

02-21-2017 (Tuesday) "Liv"

Michael tells Nelle that the caretaker was not exaggerating; there is no getting down the mountain.  He says he doesn’t remember the last time he’s seen a snowstorm this bad; Nelle appears nervous.  She tells Michael she has things to take care of at home; she says she’s a “planner” and if things don’t go as she has planned… Michael smiles; he tells her she needs to go with the flow.  He tells her they are going to take warm baths – the cabin has an old metal tub he fills with hot water.  He helps her step in; holding a towel in front of her, she tells him she would be going crazy without him there.  He says he owes her; she asks why – he says because of what she does for him.  She doesn’t understand.  He tells her he wouldn’t have gotten through his brother’s passing, and being strong for his family, if it hadn’t been for her.

Liv calls Sam, pretending to be from her doctor’s office; she says the doctor needs to see her.  She heads straight to the hospital even though it’s after hours.  Sam talks with Jason; she tells him that he doesn’t need to rush to the appointment.  She is sure it’s nothing.   Robin sees Sam in the parking garage and calls out to her; they talk.  Liv is hiding behind a column; she recalls a very young Robin – and a conversation had long ago.  She wonders, could she get two for the price of one?  She is holding a wrench tightly.

Olivia (Falconari) is meeting with Julian; she asks why he called her to meet him.  He says he wants to give her his Last Will & Testament.  Ned tells Dante that he asked his mother to marry him; Dante holds out his hand to welcome him to the family.  He tells Dante that she said no; Dante is confused.  Ned goes to find her; Julian excuses himself when Ned walks in.  Ned asks Olivia if the meeting has anything to do with her turning his proposal down; he apologizes for taking her by surprise.  He tells her he if he’d have really thought about it, he probably wouldn’t have proposed at all.  She is shocked and asks why not; he says the thought actually terrifies him.  He explains his family, history, his fear that he can’t be the man she needs… he says, she leaves him in the dust, which is why the prospect of marrying her terrifies him.  She asks if he is taking back his proposal; he smiles, and shakes his head.  He says his offer is still on the table and he leaves.  Olivia is stunned, left standing there.

Curtis is at the Metro Court when Jordan walks in.  She orders a double; he asks if it’s been a long day.  He tells her he is meeting someone there; Grace McMorris.  She tells him he cost her Andre, and adds, that, now, he may have cost her, her job.  She questions him about his investigation into Ava at the Gallery that night; she says if she goes down, she will make sure he goes down with her.  He tells her that he knows she still wants him; he says he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to her.  She looks defiant.

Sonny talks to Jason, in the hallway at the hospital; Jason tells him he is always around for him.  They hug; Robin asks if she can get in on that action.  They are both happy to see her.  Jason says has to get; he is meeting Sam for an impromptu appointment.  Robin says she just saw her in the parking garage.  When they get to the office, the doctor is not there; they are confused… Jason has other things to do.  Sam returns to the car; it won’t start now.  Liv pops out of nowhere and asks Sam if she’s having car trouble.  Robin tells Sonny that her mom is sick.  She asks Sonny how he’s doing; she mentions Ava’s arrest.  He says she has no problem hurting people; Robin says it doesn’t surprise her – her sister, Olivia, was the same way.  Sonny looks confused.  He inquires about this other sister; Robin tells him she had a lot of enemies and died years ago.  Liv insists on giving Sam a ride; as they drive through the snow, Liv talks about how much she loves the snow, making everything look clean and perfect.  She says she wishes Port Charles would get snowed in; Sam looks at her with confusion.  She starts talking about family; says she grew up in a big family… loving and tight knit.  But then, she says, it was all for show; in all actuality, she says, you couldn’t trust any one of them.  Julian sees Jason in the hospital; says he must be proud of himself, setting up that sting operation.  He tells Jason, if anything happens to anyone in his family, Sam, Danny, whoever, Jason is as much to blame as him now.  Jason asks what he means and he just says he prays to God he doesn’t find out.  Liv goes on to tell Sam that after a long estrangement, she worked really hard to start over, saying, “restoration, re-invention…” Sam mumbles reincarnation, as an ornament hanging from the rearview mirror catches her eye; it has the Chinese symbols on it from the model boat in the pawnshop.

Carly calls Nelle; checking to see how things are going at the cabin.  Nelle, of course, is not receiving the message.  Michael helps Nelle out of the tub; tells her the fire will finish warming her hut.

02-20-2017 (Monday) The Diagnosis

Standing alone in an elevator, Nelle listens to her secret recording of Sonny accepting responsibility for their “sleeping together.”  She copies it onto a hard drive and puts the drive in an envelope, marked to Carly Corinthos.  Carly tells Sonny she has plans for tomorrow night; Jason says he has glad to see them reconnecting.  Carly asks Nelle for her help sprucing up the cabin for a weekend get-away she is planning with Sonny; Nelle is only too glad to help.  Sonny and Jason discuss his indiscretion, while Carly talks to Nelle across the room; he tells Jason that he gets the feeling that Nelle wants Carly to find out what happened.  Nelle runs into Michael, who invites her to lunch, but then offers to take her up to the cabin instead; she accepts his offer, glancing at the mail rack, containing the envelope for Carly.  They get to the cabin, traveling through an unexpected snow storm; the property manager lets them in and mistakes them for “lovebirds.”  Nelle says that was awkward.  They finish getting the cabin ready and turn to leave; the manager comes back and tells them that the roads have just been closed.  They aren’t going anywhere.

Sam comes to see Alexis; she says she’s checking on her to see how she was since Kristina blew up on her, then confesses that’s not the only reason she’s there.  She brings up Ava’s recent arrest, and says she actually thinks she is innocent of the charges.  She then notices the flowers from Julian and inquires about them; Sam is upset that she even accepted the flowers and begs her not to “do this again.”  Alexis tells Sam about the letter Julian said he wrote, and the key he gave her to get it; she says it’s probably just more lies, and she’s just going to throw the key away.  Sam asks, “what if it isn’t?”

Julian goes to see his sister, Liv… they discuss the board meeting that has been scheduled to consider her offer; he breaks out a bottle of Champagne.  She tells him that’s a little presumptuous; he says the board members are in their favor, except for Michael, Laura and Tracy, so he’s pretty sure they lose.  She reminds him that he is not financially benefiting; he says he will be through with her – and that is worth celebrating.  She asks what if she were to kill him after the sale goes through; he says, he will still be through with her.  He tells her to either raise a glass with him right now, or kill him right now.  She says she doesn’t want to waste the bottle; he pours a vial of ? in her cup when she turns away.  They toast, to GH.  She stumbles and knocks Julian’s cup out of his hands; she offers him hers.  He says it was a stupid idea; she slaps him and yells, she knows he was trying to poison her.  She holds a gun up and makes him empty his pockets; he hands her the vial.  She smells it; Oleander, she says.  She tells him he can live until after the hospital purchase and tells him to get out of there before she changes her mind.

Hayden runs numbers for Tracy, and tells her that her offer is not as high as the property investor’s offer.  Ned steps forward and offers a letter from his ex-wife, Lois, offering to buy out L&B Records; he says his life is in Port Charles now and buying the hospital is more important.  Hayden says they still have to convince the board that he is the right buyer for the hospital.  Tracy asks Ned when his permanent relocation happened; he tells her it’s been in the works for a while.  He then asks her for his grandmother’s old wedding ring; he says he is asking Olivia to marry him tonight.  Tracy makes her reservations about Olivia known, through a series of insults, calling her overbearing and uncoothe; he says he says those qualities as caring and spirited.  Ned tells Tracy if she doesn’t like Olivia, that’s just too bad, because he loves her and plans on marrying her, with or without Tracy’s blessing.  Tracy apologizes; she tells him that she was just being selfish and wants to keep him close, under the same roof.  She doesn’t want him to get his own home; he tells her that he and Olivia and Leo will stay in the house, at least for now.  She gives him her blessing to ask Olivia to marry him, after all.  When Olivia arrives to talk to Ned, he is staring at the ring; he drops to one knee and asks her to marry him – she tells him, half in shock, that she “can’t marry him.”  He asks what “can’t…” means; she turns and runs out of the house.

Finn pops another pill; and looks at a newspaper headline about Sonny not being guilty of killing his son.  Griffin approaches, asking about Anna’s biopsy; he says he hopes it’s not as bad as they’ve been fearing.  Anna calls out for a nurse; an intern tells her that none are available.  She asks him to find her a doctor; Robin appears in the doorway, asking if she will do.  Anna smiles.  Soon, she realizes though that something must be seriously wrong if Griffin called Robin to come see her; the intern finds Griffin in the hallway and hands him the results from Anna’s biopsy.  He looks at them and says, “no.” Griffin goes to talk to Finn; they come in to tell Anna she has “PV,” a type of cancer.  Anna asks how a blood clot can be associated with cancer; they said PV was formerly known just as a blood disorder, but it is actually a form of blood cancer – the blood clot was a symptom.  They explain, that’s what was causing the migraines; a thickening of the blood. They tell her all they can do is treat the symptoms of this cancer; there is no cure for this disease.  She is devastated; Robin tells her they can deal with a chronic illness.  Anna, remembering that her daughter lives with HIV, apologizes for being insensitive; Robin tells her it’s fine and they will get through this.  She offers to stay and help take care of her mother for the time being; Anna hugs her.

Hayden tells Finn that a pharmaceutical company is interested in buying the cure from him; he could donate part of the proceeds to the purchase of the hospital.  Tracy says he can take the company jet; he decides to take her up on that offer.

02-17-2017 (Friday) WHAT'S WRONG WITH ANNA?

Julian meets with Liv at the roadhouse; he tells her he will get her General Hospital, unless she continues to hurt the people he loves.  Sam and Jason talk about Ava being in custody right now; Jason says it’s tempting just to let her take the blame, but they know the person responsible is still out there.  Liz send Franco a text message, wishing him luck at work; Franco walks in the door of his apartment and finds Kiki and Dillon on the couch, naked.  He tells Kiki he got fired.  He tells her he is afraid to tell Elizabeth, but Kiki tells him he owes it to her to be honest about everything.

Franco goes back and tells Liz he was fired; she is completely understanding.  They hold each other and he says at least they will have more time to spend together now; she agrees, laughing.  Alexis gets a delivery of flowers; they look just like the bouquet she carried for their wedding.  She has a flashback; Julian shows up at the door.  He asks if they can talk; she lets him in.  He begins to apologize for everything, and then hands her a key; he says there is a letter in the box that key belongs to.  He tells her that he doesn’t want her to read it, until tomorrow.  She asks him what is going on; it sounds like he is saying goodbye.

Olivia and Ned return from their Valentine date, very happy; he invites her to stay the night, but she doesn’t feel comfortable in the Quartermaine mansion.  He pleads with her to stay with him, but Tracy walks in the room and tells her to leave; she is calling a family meeting.  Ned refuses to send Olivia away; he tells his mom that he wants her to stay… he considers her family now.  Once everyone shows up, Tracy tells them that she thinks ELQ should buy the hospital – Michael says they do have the numbers; the purchase is do-able.  But then the possibility is brought up that if the hospital continues losing money, it could take under ELQ; Olivia suggests that the Quartermaine family, themselves, buy the hospital.  They begin to ‘crunch numbers.’   Dillon calls Kiki and tells her that he is significantly poorer than when he left her earlier; he congratulates Ned on standing up to their mother for Olivia.

Nina steps in the door of Anna’s hospital room, to see Valentin sitting by her bedside, holding her hand.  She steps back out of the door, quietly, looking very confused.  Anna wakes up, and asks Valentin what he is doing there; he says he was just worried about her.  She pulls her hand away and tells him to leave the room.  He finds Nina in the waiting area; she immediately confronts him about holding Anna’s hand.  He sweet talks her and they go back to the hotel room and make love.  Griffin comes in with Anna’s lab results; he tells her that it appears she has  blood clot and she needs to stay the night for more testing.  She has a feeling he is not telling her everything.

Outside of her room, Finn and Griffin discuss Anna’s condition; Griffin tells Finn that Anna is so depressed right now, he thinks they did the right thing by not telling her that they believe she has cancer.
