03-30-2017 (Thursday) Dual Proposals

At the Metro Court, Tracy does her best to persuade Laura to go to Turkey with her; Laura tells her she can’t go.  She says she has to help Lulu; she says she is devastated over the custody hearing.  Tracy says of course she is with a snake like that raising her child; Laura says she is going to rectify that.  Tracy asks how… Laura doesn’t answer; but she tells Tracy she is still not going with her.  Tracy tells her she is going anyway; Laura is concerned that Tracy won’t be able to fit in; she says this is very delicate and she needs to know how fit in with the culture and how to talk to people.  She finally agrees to go.  

Curtis and Jordan’s kiss is interrupted by a call from Jason; he says he could use Curtis’ help.  He says this is about Jake; he tells Curtis he needs to meet with him tonight.  Sam comes downstairs and says the kids are both asleep; Jason tells her he is afraid Jake could be in real trouble.  He tells her about the drawing of the scarecrow; then he tells her about Jake’s belief that Helena put a curse on her.  He says he wishes he knew what was really what; he also tells her about his concerns over Franco.  Sam tells Jason that she trusts Elizabeth’s judgment; she says she would never put her kids in danger on purpose, but this is Franco and she may have a blindspot because of her love for him.  They refocus on Jake; Jason tells Sam that he has an idea of where to start.  He tells her he called Curtis; he is going to start in the morning.  Jason also says he has thought of something he can do tonight; he goes to see Valentin.  Nina says it’s a little late; Jason admits it is, but says he thinks Valentin can help his son.

Elizabeth calls Franco; she says she doesn’t like how they left things last night.  Kiki tells Elizabeth that she is volunteering at the hospital now, in Psych… she says she wanted to do something to honor Morgan and help her pain, and guilt; she says it’s intense and breaks her heart.  She changes the subject and asks Elizabeth if she has heard from Franco today; she says she is really worried about him.  Liz tells her about Jason getting mad and Franco leaving; Kiki asks if she is going to give up on Franco because of Jason.  Kiki tells Liz not to; she says she has a right to be happy and she shouldn’t let Jason stop her.  She tells him to call her back and not do anything crazy; Franco shows up at Nina’s with a gift, wishing her a happy marriage.  She tells him she knows why he is really there; he admits he needs to talk to her.  He says its about Elizabeth; she finds that funny, that she would be his “someone” to talk to about another woman, but lets him sit down.  When he mentions being like a father to Jake, she gets a little upset, but then says she is happy with Valentin, so she thanks him for all he did.  She tells him how marriage has been so great for her, and then mentions his predicament, not being anything ‘legally’ to Jake.  Franco tells her she is brilliant; he interprets her words as advice to ask Elizabeth to marry him.  So he goes to the hospital, drops to one knee in the hallway, and asks Liz to be his wife.

At the Floating Rib, the masked men demand Olivia’s phone and all of her jewelry, but don’t seem to see the ring on the table, still in the box; one of them grabs Ava by the arm.  She tells them not to hurt her because she has children; he says he doesn’t care, orders everyone to put their valuables in the bag and tells everyone, one wrong move and he will shoot her.  The man at Ned and Olivia’s table does finally see the ring and tells Olivia to throw it in, shaking his gun at her.  Ned begs Olivia to just give them the ring; she says she can’t.  The man raises his gun, Ned leaps for him, and a shot rings out; the man lays on the ground… Curtis tells Jordan “nice shot.”  Olivia puts on the ring; she tells Ned she thought she was going to lose him, and hugs him.  He apologizes for pressuring her before; he tells her if she’s not ready for marriage, it’s okay… he says this is him, backing off.  She laughs; she tells him she doesn’t know what she was waiting for.  She says she loves him and doesn’t know what she’d do without him; she proposes to him

03-29-2017 (Wednesday) The Bribe

Jordan and Curtis have a drink, and Jordan makes a toast to working together; Curtis asks her if that is a job offer.  She tells him the “brass in Baltimore” was impressed with his efforts to bring Olivia Jerome in; he turns her down.  She can’t believe it.  He tells her that after he told Jason that he was going to try to get on the force, he thought about it, and he realized that he likes being able to work without restraints; he is going to remain a PI.  She’s not happy about that, but they still end up kissing, after he catches a pretend butterfly off her head.

Nurse Amy comes skipping into the hospital reception area, saying she has such great news; she can’t wait to go tell everyone.  She is on the phone, while in the elevator, telling her friend this email is going to change her life; they have to celebrate.  Nina comes in looking for a pediatrician for Charlotte; Griffin gives her a recommendation.  She then asks him if he could help control Anna; she tells him about her connection to Valentin.  Griffin asks her if she doesn’t trust Valentin.   Nina questions his credibility by bringing up his affair with Claudette.

Valentin says Anna was his lover, and he was her dupe; she argues that she doesn’t remember any of this.  He tells her after they went their separate ways (after he tried to kiss her at the academy), he went into counter-intellegence and threat analysis.  He says his genius (except when it comes to her), allowed him to see patterns that allowed the WSB to find their target.  He said she was in the field; he was in a secure facility… but she got to him and he thinks the enemy “DVX” sent her.   He says the worst part is that he knew better, because she had already rejected him; she said she was on a classified assignment, thought her life was in danger and she needed Intel, then she turned it over to the DVX.  He starts to cry, saying he joined the WSB to make something good of himself and she took that from him and smashed it to pieces; she apologizes.  He says she broke him; she looks into his eyes, almost crying herself, and reaches out to touch his face.  Nina walks in and asks what she is doing there; she tells Anna to get out and says she never wants to see her there again.  Valentin tells Nina she won’t like what she hears, but he will tell her everything; and he does, more or less.  He says she is the reason he has run his whole life and changed his identity; she hugs him and tells him it’s not his fault… Anna took advantage of him she says.  He tells her Anna didn’t seem to remember any of it; Nina says that’s a pathetic lie, but Valentin says he really doesn’t think she was lying.  Nina says she will help him look into it, if he wants; she promises to never tell his secrets or betray him; he kisses her.  Anna goes and tells Griffin about her conversation with Valentin; she is upset that she doesn’t remember any of it.  Griffin asks if she is sure he wasn’t lying.  She doesn’t think so; she says she believes he lived it… Griffin asks if Valentin could have her confused with someone.  She stops suddenly, and says she thinks she may know what happened; she needs to make a quick trip she says.

Ava tells Tracy there are many, many auction houses, and starts naming them all off; she asks Tracy if she wants her help or not.  She starts asking questions about when the auction was; she received a call about something a few weeks ago.  She finds the place that handled the painting, she says; Tracy writes her another check.  Ava offers the checks to Lucy, but Lucy turns them down, saying it’s not enough; Ava pulls a small sculpture out of her purse, showing Lucy a paper of its value.  She begs Lucy to end this now and accept her offer.  Tracy sits down and makes a call to the auction house and is frustrated to find out nobody there speaks English; Laura sits down at her table and tells her that she speaks Turkish.  She calls the place for Tracy and finds out the information she needs; Tracy says she is going there to see the painting.  Laura says she can’t go alone; Tracy agrees and tells Laura she is going with her.  After seeing the value of the statuette, Lucy takes the pills out of her purse and sits them on the counter.

Nathan tells Dante that Maxie has gone to Oregon, for good; he tells Dante about the fight between Maxie and Nina and says he couldn’t broker a peace no matter how hard he tried.  So Maxie started looking for work, and found a job in Oregon.  Dante asks what that means for him, a newlywed… he says the job is only for three months, but he only dropped her off at the airport an hour ago and his misses her like crazy.  He’s thinking he will work all week and go see her on the weekends; he asked if they ever talked about how this would affect him.  He says he didn’t feel it was fair, seeing as how it was his sister that fired her.

Ned and Olivia meet at the bar; Ned tells her that he fears his father has influenced his mother in some way.  Then he changes the subject, and he pulls out the ring; he asks her, one more time, to do him the honor of marrying him.  She says she wants what they have right now to go on; she asks why they need a document between them, why marriage is so important to him.  He tells her that he wants to tell the world how they feel, that marriage to him means a partnership for the rest of their lives and romance until their dying breath; she says he has said all those things before, having been married more than once already, and it didn’t mean anything.  She asks why this time is different; he says he has learned from his mistakes.  She says she just doesn’t want a document hanging over her head; she just wants to love him.  He tells her that’s not good enough for him; he can’t keep going on the way they are right now.  She asks if he is breaking up with her; two masked men burst in the door of the bar, saying this is a “stick up.”  Ned’s ring sits on the table, and Morgan’s pill bottle is out on the counter.

03-28-2017 (Tuesday) The Painting

Tracy goes to see Larry Ashton; she almost changes her mind, but he comes out of his room and catches her.  He tells her he needs to tell her something; he tells a story about a piece of artwork that he purchased at an auction, which was found out to have been stolen.  It’s rightful owner was Tracy’s father, “J. L. Holt”? Lucy, after insisting she needs to talk to Sonny and Carly about their son, changes her mind, when Ava shows up offering a donation to the Nurses’ Ball; Lucy and Ava leave.  Carly wonders what that was all about.  Ava gives Lucy a check for an undisclosed amount; Lucy tells her to add another zero to it.  Ava tells Lucy she needs a day or so to get the money; Lucy says she needs it by tonight, or she will have to go back to talk to Carly and Sonny.  Ava tells her she will make some calls.  As she wonders how she’s going to get that much money, Ava is approached by Tracy, who tells her that she needs her help with regard to a painting.  She tells her about this painting in Turkey and says she needs her help to find it; Ava says she’d be happy to help, for a price.  Carly and Sonny continue fighting; he tells her if she can't forgive him, she can walk out the door.  She tells him she isn't going to be forced into forgiving him before she is ready and tells him to watch her walk out that door; she turns and walks away.

Anna gets paperwork from Leisel, which supposedly came through Caesar; she makes Anna promise that she won’t use it to track down Britt.  Anna gasps when she reads whatever is in the papers; it appears that she may have been a double-agent. Andre tells her that he doesn’t believe she would have done that; she says he’s wrong.  She tells him that she graduated with the highest marks and was very arrogant and immature, admitting that’s a bad combination.  She says if someone was willing to pay for information, she was cynical enough sell it; she admits that people died because of her.  Then she realizes something; she goes to talk to Valentin and tells him that she thinks they’ve both been played.  Valentine tells her that he was a rising start in counter intelligence and threat analysis; she persuaded him to access highly classified intelligence for something she needed for a ‘special assignment’; he tells her she asked him, herself, right after they slept together.

Ned comes to the Metro Court to pick up Olivia; she tells him she might have to just meet him at the movie, but she may miss the opening credits.  He says they can make a later movie.  Olivia then asks Ned if he would want to adopt Leo; he tells her he can’t do that.  She asks why not; he explains that he loves that boy, and loves him, but if she doesn’t want to marry him, he says he doesn’t understand why she would want him to adopt Leo.  Olivia tells Ned that she loves him and hopes to spend the rest of her life with him, but from where she stands a marriage certificate is just a guarantee that they have no future.  Ned tells Olivia that he is going to propose one more time, tonight at dinner; he says he will accept whatever answer she gives him.

Laura talks to Lulu; she says it is clear that Nelle still has feelings for Michael.  She believes Nelle may be their way to out-maneuver Valentin.  She says, if Nelle wants to get back into Michael’s good graces, it would make sense for her to endear herself to Lulu and Dante; Lulu wonders if Nelle would really do anything to alienate Valentin and Nina.  Laura tells Lulu that she should befriend Nelle; then she will have an ally under his roof, or a spy, Lulu adds. Alexis finishes another glass of wine; another knock comes to her door.  This time it’s Valentine; he asks to come in.  She says she wouldn’t want to be rude; he comes in and asks if she is going to offer him a drink, or if she prefers to drink alone.  He tells Alexis that he is there to make good on a promise; something about the keys to the Cassidine Estate.  He offers to share the estate; says they could move into Wyndemere.  He says Charlotte could use someone her age to play with, affirming that Danny is close to her age.  Alexis tells him goodbye; she says if he wants a child for Charlotte to play with, she has a sibling, Rocco and tells him he could start there.  She shows him the door, but not until he takes her bottle of wine back out of the cabinet, pops the cork and tosses it to her, making the comment that she doesn’t seem to have many friends.  

As soon as she walks away, there’s another knock at the door; this time, it’s Julian.  She shuts the door on him, but he reappears in the living room; she puts her hands over her face and turns to see him sitting on the half wall next to her.  She breaks down and starts talking to him about how his lies affected her, how she lost everything, including her husband; then she says none of this matters because he’s not really here.  Julian tells her she’s right, adding that this means it’s not really him telling her to put the bottle down, it’s herself; he then caresses her, turns her head and kisses her and she opens her eyes, still standing in the doorway.  She goes in and grabs her bottle of wine; she pours it out over the handrail.

PERSONAL Soap Opera UPDATE (4-8-2017)

Alright, I've finished with my Doctoral Exam; I've either passsed, and will go on to do my research courses and work on my dissertation, or I've failed and will be out the program with nothing further to do toward my degree.  This is my second and final attempt at passing the exam.

In the midst of preparing to take this exam, I was dealing with all of the drama caused by my mother's lawsuit against my daughter.  In case you never saw/heard the original story, WATCH THIS:

My ears are pounding tonight… it's 1am:  I can literally hear the blood pulsing through my ears, in my head; it hurts.  I’m so tired… today was such a horrible day.

We got to the Courtroom at 8:45am; Trial was scheduled to start at 9am, but it didn’t end up starting until 10:  We went up to the table, and spread out our notes, and immediately my mother objected to me being at the table to help Kasey.  The judge told Kasey she could either have me there, or call me as a witness, but not both; I knew I needed to testify… unfortunately, I did not have the presence of mind on the stand to say all of the things I wanted to say, when the time finally came, though I thought I did pretty well.

My mother than told her attorney’s to invoke some rule that prohibits witnesses from being in the Courtroom during the trial, except when they testified, so I was not only removed from the table next to my daughter, we were all forced to wait out in the hall, and my daughter had to face my mother and her team of attorney’s all alone.  She was so scared, and not as prepared as we thought.

My step-dad wouldn’t even look at any of us… Kasey said he said with his head hung, elbows on his knees, the entire time (when I saw him, he was looking at the wall).  He would not look up at me, even as I passed by them on my way to the witness stand; sad.  It was obvious, HE did not want to be there – but my mother controls everybody, including him.

Kasey was so terrified; and so lost… she forgot half of her evidence, and the other half, they objected to and the judge refused to look at.  The fact that she has made the entire mortgage payment for the past two years did not matter, the fact that my mother willingly made her an equal owner of the home, did not matter; the fact that my mother is just a controlling, manipulative, vindictive bitch DID NOT MATTER EITHER.  Apparently, Kasey was told that she was not allowed to bring my mother’s character into question!

I’m sure, it is because we didn’t file any claim against her; I tried to get Kasey to let me Counterclaim immediately when she was served with that original Petition, but she was afraid of pissing my mother off any further, so she asked me not to.  So we just Answered.  Big Mistake.

A Counterclaim would have allowed the admittance of all of that evidence because our claim would have been based on my mother’s awful character and past behavior.  See, she makes a HABIT of suing people, having been a lawyer, herself, in years past… and loves writing hateful, horrible, threatening and demeaning letters to people or about people, to other people.  If we had made this claim in the beginning, he would have had to listen to the evidence regarding that claim at the trial.

The Judge at the Trial would not even recognize the importance of the ELEVEN-PAGE LETTER my mother previously wrote to the Judge on the foster kid’s case, Judge Mayfield, where she admitted to emotionally abusing one of the foster children by telling them they were going to be sleeping in the bathtub until CPS came back to get them; he didn’t even seem to care.  How is that?  My mother did her damnedest to get those kids taken away and put back into the foster care system!  How awful is that?

He wouldn’t listen to anything regarding horrible things she has done in the past, nor anything regarding all the work we put in on the Duncanville home, the money from which went to buy the mobile home my daughter has been living in.

Since I was not privy to anything but my own testimony, I can’t give much more detail right now; but I will be ordering a transcript of the Trial to find out what all transpired.  All I know is, after we were told we could come in to listen to the ruling, that Judge blew my mind!  He commended her for taking the steps to adopt the children, saying foster parenting is a commendable “occupation” and it’s a wonderful thing that she did.

Then he simply told my daughter, that he did not believe her side of the story; he believed my mother.  She won.  They get the house back; my daughter has to move her family.

Later that night, I sent my mother a text (not even sure she would get it) telling her she is a horrible person and I don't know how she lives with herself.  To my surprise, she replied:  "If you weren't such an ugly, mouthy bitch, Kasey would have a home."  So there it is... my mother's admission that she took my daughter's home away to SPITE me!  Nice, huh?

03-27-2017 (Monday) New News

Alexis sits down with her bottle of wine, and a glass; Sam calls.  Sam tells her that Scout didn’t sleep last night and she is very tired; she’s wondering if Alexis could come over and watch the baby while she takes a nap.  Alexis tells her she doesn’t think she can make it today; Sam apologizes, remembering that the girls told her Alexis had gone to a meeting.  Alexis lets her believe that; Sam says that’s good because she shouldn’t be alone.  Alexis tells her she is not alone, saying she is with a friend from the meeting.  She hangs up and pours a small amount in the glass and drinks it.  Ava knocks on her door; she hides the bottle behind the pillow on the couch and Ava ends up finding it.  They talk about Julian; Ava says she sees him in her dreams.  Alexis recalls “seeing” Julian just moments earlier herself.  Ava offers to take her to a meeting and Alexis gets pissed; she tells her it’s not her concern.  Ava says Julian would be disappointed, and threatens to call her girls, which only makes Alexis more angry; she kicks Ava out after taking another drink of her wine right in Ava’s face.

Scotty meets with Ava; he tells her he is about to meet with Lucy again to try to get the pill bottle back.  Lucy comes in as he is walking Ava to the door and gets upset that he is still talking to her… he tries to convince her that Ava isn’t that bad.  He says it’s time to give the pills back; Lucy asks why she would do that.  He brings up their daughter, Sabrina; Lucy asks if he is threatening to call their daughter and tell on her.  He says, ”whatever it takes.”  He tells her that she should want her daughter to be proud of her for doing the right thing and sticking by a friend; she tells Scott, he’s right.  She says Sonny has always been a faithful friend, and she knows now what she needs to do.  She leaves.  Ava comes back; Scotty tells her the news is not good, as he offers her some of the expensive wine he bought for Lucy. 

Jason listens to Elizabeth and Franco, but he doesn’t believe them.  Liz assures Jason that she knows what she is talking about; something is wrong with Jake because of Helena.  Jason says Jake was doing fine, until Franco starting spending so much time there; Liz tells him this is not because of Franco.  Jason tells her he disagrees and he thinks maybe Jake shouldn’t be living there if Franco is going to be; he leaves.  Franco does his best to comfort Elizabeth, by telling her that Jason loves Jake way more than he hates him; he says Jason saw the pictures, he has to know something is wrong and he will come around.  Elizabeth says she thinks he is being awfully optimistic.  Elizabeth is afraid that Jason might fight her for custody, and tells Franco that maybe they should hold off on having him move in after all.  She says it’s not what she wants, but maybe it’s for the best; Franco leaves, hurt, saying they just as well get started.

Laura interrupts Sonny and Carly's argument; Carly says they are done anyway and leaves.  Laura asks Sonny if he wants to talk; he says not really, and asks how she’s doing after the custody hearing went against the kids.  She tells him she is beside herself; then she tells him that Nina and Valentine hired Nelle as their nanny.  She tells him that she has talked to Michael about Nelle, but she felt like there was something he wasn’t telling her; Sonny explains that Nelle used Morgan’s death to hurt Carly and their family, without giving too much detail.  He tells her to have a back up plan because Nelle is a disaster waiting to happen; Laura then mentions he lost he looks.  He tells her that he is just not sure he has it in him to go after Carly anymore; she tells him to dig deep and make damn sure there is nothing left because he gives up on something so precious.

Carly goes to talk to Jason, but ends up talking to Sam when he isn’t there; Sam understands exactly how Carly feels, having had a brief relationship with Sonny herself all those years ago.  Carly asks if she thinks their marriage is over; Sam says a marriage is over when it stops growing.  She tells Carly that she has admired her and Sonny for years, adding their love is so strong; she asks her if she doesn’t think they have it in them to grow just a little bit more.  She goes to see Sonny, who is now home; he says he’s glad she’s there.  She says, well, she is his wife, at least for the time being.  Lucy comes to the door; she tells them both that she has waited long enough to tell them something and cannot wait another minute; she holds Morgan’s pill bottle behind her back.
