Sorry, all... I know that I am far behind, but I'll catch back up - bare with me.
Andre comes in to pick up
ribs ‘to go’ and finds Morgan sitting at the bar; he warns him again about mixing
alcohol with his medication. Morgan
tells him, he is not drinking; the bottles next to him belong to the last guy,
he is waiting for his food. Andre
apologizes, confirms their appointment for tomorrow, picks up his order and
leaves. Morgan orders another beer;
Darby comes in. Morgan tells her it’s
her fault he got expelled because she told him to buy that paper online; she
tells him he should have run it through the plagiarism filter before turning it
in. Darby actually tells Morgan that she admires Kiki for hanging in there with
him; she says he needs to pull it together and do right by Kiki while he still
can.
Paul tells Jordan that he is going
to be pleading guilty; no conditions.
Ava thanks Paul for not turning her in, after Jordan leaves to process
his new paperwork. He tells her he
didn’t do it just for her; he needs an ally on the outside. He is keeping the flashdrive as an assurance
of her loyalty; he tells her to be there for her girls right now. She tells him that is good advice and leaves. Michael is headed to the police station,
where he almost reaches for a deputy’s gun, as Sonny grabs his arm and stops
him; they talk. Sonny leaves, and
Michael still goes in to talk to Paul.
Tells him he could kill him, but he’s not going to throw his life
away. He asks why he killed Sabrina…
Paul says it’s hard to explain. He owes
it to Sabrina’s son to give him an answer for the boy; Paul says to tell Teddy
his mother died a hero. Michael asks
for details and Paul recounts the murder and events leading up to it; Michael
says she must have fought with all her might. Tracy comes in after Michael, and tells Paul he better not ever try to
contact Dillon again; she leaves him with “I’ll be watching you.”
Dante stops by Sonny’s but Sonny is not
there; he tells Carly that he has to stop Sonny from retaliating against
Julian. She swears she knows nothing
about it. Sonny comes home and insists
to Dante that he has nothing (illegal) going on; Dane does not believe him. He
tells him, if it ever comes down to a choice between saving his son and taking
Sonny down, he will take Sonny down.
Carly chews Dante out for accusing his father of doing illegal things;
and then tells Sonny he better not have anything to do with Julian’s would-be
murder. He swears he is not pulling the
trigger on Julian. (That literal truth
again, rather than complete honesty.) Carly and Dante both roll their eyes at each other, knowing what he means.
Kiki
goes to see Dillon in the shed, where he’s been looking for an old fishing rod
that Paul had given him; she walks right to the closet where the rod is, and
asks, “this one?” Holding the rod, he discusses his childhood and
the lack of his father in it – then about his father’s reappearance in his life
and how disappointing it’s been. He
breaks the rod and cuts his hand; it starts bleeding. She bandages it for him. Jordan
tells Andre that she is resigning; she is tired of being the Police
Commissioner. When Ned comes to talk to
Tracy, he tells her that they need to kill Paul. She laughs at the idea and changes the subject; Ned tells her she
has to face what Paul did to her or she won’t have any peace in her life. Ava comes to see Kiki at work and is told
that she left early, to go see Dillon Quartermaine, because of the news about
his father being the killer. Morgan
shows up. Ava, acting all innocent,
lets it slip that Kiki went to comfort Dillon.
Morgan arrives at the Quartermaine mansion to see two shadow figures in
the window, kissing.
As a faithful viewer of General Hospital for thirty+ years, I'm getting concerned for the fate of the show. My other two favorites were cancelled a few years ago; All my Children and One Life to Live, ever-so-briefly revived on the internet, not to yet be seen again, are lost for good it seems. My intention is not only to keep viewers who might have missed out on episodes informed of what is going on, but also to point out the stupidity occasionally written into episodes. Watch out writers!
10-04-2016 (Tuesday)
Carly confronts Sonny as
soon as he walks in the door; she asks him if was lying to her by
omission. He repeats his promise that if
anything happened to Julian, it would not by his hands; she tells him there is
a difference between speaking the literal truth and being honest. Morgan comes home, looking angry; obviously,
he lost big at the poker game again.
Carly asks why he smells like smoke; his answer is abrupt, “because guys
smoke” as he insists, at the same time that he, himself, didn’t smoke. He goes to take a shower; he comes down with
an entirely different attitude, perceptibly off his meds. Carly and Sonny confront him; he gets
extremely angry that they don’t believe he’s been taking them, when he has and
he leaves. Carly is worried; Sonny says
they need to give him some time to himself.
Carly calls Morgan’s doctor, who can’t tell her much because of
doctor-patient confidentiality; but he assures her Morgan has been making all
of his appointments. They discuss how
this is even harder for him than it was for Sonny to overcome; Sonny assures
her Morgan will have a happy, healthy life.
Morgan goes to see Kiki; gets pissed that she was on the phone leaving a message for Dillon, and then tells her that got kicked out of school already. He gets pissed at her reaction, even though she remained very calm and was trying to be reassuring; he storms out, saying he doesn’t want her pity. Michael stops by the Metro Court, where Nelle just scored tickets to a concert for Joslyn’s birthday; Michael says Jos will be thrilled. He is obviously distraught; he tells them about Paul being the one who killed Sabrina. They are stunned. He determines that he is going to get justice for Sabrina; Nelle calls Sonny, as Michael leaves.
Ava finds Scotty sitting at the bar, drinking tomato juice; he obviously has a hangover. She is pissed; he was supposed to pick her up this morning to go to the Police Station, to announce his representation of Paul. They make their way to the PD and visit Paul, now behind bars. Scotty tells him he is his new attorney, bragging about getting Julian off; Paul says he doesn’t need him – he already has an attorney. Scotty gets pissy and tells Paul to enjoy the prison cuisine; Ava tells Scott to go wait upstairs for her; Paul tells Ava he knows a bribe when he sees one and asks what she really wants. She tells him she wants the flashdrive that recorded her killing Connie Falconari; he plays with her and she turns to begging, for her girls’ sake. He calls her girls “convenient.” Paul tells Ava that he is almost relieved being behind bars; he deserves to be punished or what he did. He says it’s probably the best thing that could have happened, and might be the same for her too. She begs him not to reveal her secret, but when Jordan comes in to tell him his arraignment has been scheduled; he says there is something he needs to tell the Commissioner.
Claudette accidently meets up with Griffin at the diner – she is there to get their biscuits and gravy; he agrees they are the best and asks her to sit down. He wants to hear about this man she was running from; the whole story. So she tells them how she and Valentene met; and how intimidating he became, and about his threats to kill her and her daughter if she ever left him. She talks about being on the run with her daughter, knowing the whole time that she was Nathan’s child; wishing she was Griffin’s… or so she says. Nina calls Curtis to meet her again; she has a new idea about adopting a baby… she wants to adopt one from another country. She asks Curtis to broker the deal; he refuses – she gets mad and tells him she doesn’t need him, because she is creative. She leaves. She goes to Nathan and Maxie’s apartment, where she catches them just about to head into the bedroom to have sex; Nathan just finished telling Maxie how much he loves her, because she has been so kind and understanding about this whole “Claudette thing.” Nina insists they need to get started on their wedding planning; creative ideas are flowing through her head today.
Curtis goes to the PD to see Jordan, who just got done berating Paul (angry that he was the killer, pretending to help); Curtis gives her a lottery ticket, reminding her of a tradition they had when they were partners; when won had a victory or win, the other bought them a lottery ticket. They discuss their frustration with Paul being the killer and right under their noses the whole time…she tells him he did some good police work; he asks if she might him back on the force. She reminds him what got him fired; he blew a case when they were on surveillance, and she turned him in. He had hoped that she would regret that decision, but she tells him she doesn’t. She tries to explain that she turned him in for his own good. Maxie and Nathan fill Nina in on the Charlotte news; she seems stunned that Nathan has a child. Then when the discussion of where this child might live comes up (and Maxie isn’t so keen on the thought of the girl coming to live with her and Nathan); Nina offers another solution. She says, “I’ll take her.”

Ava tries to discourage Kiki
from ‘saddling herself with a man who is mentally ill’ when Franco comes up and
interrupts her. He asks Kiki if she
would like to sit down and talk to someone with experience with mental
illness…she says she would. They have a
great talk; Franco tells her if it is too difficult to be with Morgan and it’s
not the relationship she wants, she doesn’t have to stay in it – she says, she
loves him; it is what she wants, and she just has to hope that his mood swings
will even out. She asks, “what would
that say about me, if I left him because of his mental illness.” A
nna bursts in the door of the cabin, with Dillon right behind him, just in time to see his father holding the needle to his mother’s neck; Paul tries to explain why it is he feels he has to do this. Dillon tells him he is making no sense; he tells him that Susan would not want this, and in fact, would be very upset with him about it. Dillon moves closer; Anna tells him not to be a hero. Dillon keeps talking to his father and gets closer to his mother, reaching down and untying her hands, then pulling her from the chair. Paul tells them just to leave – Anna tells him to stay right where he is, and to drop the syringe. She tells him to be a man, to step up and prove to his son he’s not a coward; he turns around and puts the syringe to his neck. Anna knocks him down and Dillon grabs him; Anna picks up the syringe. Paul cries about his daughter; Dillon promises that he will take care of her. Backup arrives, Anna takes Paul out; Tracy hugs Dillon.
Morgan goes to see Andre… he tells him his anger is getting out of control; he’s afraid he may really hurt somebody - and then he bought a paper, which he found out will get him kicked out of school – he’s supposed to go meet with the Dean. He’s upset about disappointing his mother, and Kiki, afraid she will break up with him again. Ultimately, though, Morgan concludes that he is going to tell everybody the truth, starting with Kiki. Franco and Kiki continue their conversation; he mentions borrowing money from his mother; so he explains... he admits that he is being blackmailed by Hayden now, that she is Elizabeth’s half-sister, and that because of that news, Heather’s gravy train has run out.
Finn and Hayden overhear Lucy meeting with an owner of General Hospital, to list it for sale…Lucy tries to talk him out of his interest in the building, telling there are dozens more around the area – when she asks what his thoughts are for ‘repurposing’ the property, he says “luxury condominiums.” She reminds him that he’s a member of the hospital board, and this hospital does so much good, it’s a landmark for the families… she says they can’t tear it down. He tells her they plan on rebuilding the hospital across town, so they continue their tour. Finn and Hayden both agree, they cannot trust that man.
Ava is back at her apartment, looking for something (or someone) on ‘Spyder Search’ when Scotty domes to her door. He taunts her with the fact that he has learned something she doesn’t know yet – then confesses, it was the esteemed District Attorney all along, he says. Ava is shocked; who would imagine that? With her back turned to Scott, she looks terrified; then she turns and tells him that he has to represent Paul… and he has to get him off. Scotty looks stunned. Ava admits that she already knew Paul was the killer; she discovered it before through the trial and used it to blackmail him into getting Julian off. She says she really thought Paul would stop once he knew that she knew… she used the knowledge as leverage for the flashdrive he still has that could put her in prison. She goes on to talk about Kiki; and then admits to replacing Morgan’s bipolar medications with a placebo. Scott asks if she didn’t think about the consequences if Morgan happens to hurt someone while he’s off his medication. Morgan makes a stupid decision after Kiki tells him she has to cover some other guy’s shift and can’t meet with him tonight.

Sonny, at the gym, begins to
make plans about Julian; Jason shows up, saying he has a possible
solution. Sonny tells Jason that he has
an independent blind contract; no money trail – Jason asks Sonny to let him
check this guy out, to make sure nothing will come back on him. Carly tells Morgan she is really proud of
him, giving him a gift of a Jade necklace (for the power of ‘balance’); he is
obviously distraught, hiding the fact that he is already falling behind in
school, but tells her he’s alright. Dillon shows up at the Metro Court, to meet with Anna… she asks him if
he can possibly help her figure out where his father is. Dillon asks what’s going on; Anna tells him
she needs to get a hold of him to get information for a case.
Dillon tells Anna that his mom went to find his sister, somewhere up in the Finger Lake Region. Anna attempts to call. Sam goes to see her dad, simply to tell him that there is nothing left for him in Port Charles anymore; she tells him point-blank that he needs to leave. Sam goes on to say that she despises him and despite what he did for Danny, she wishes he never came into her life… but she has seen enough bloodshed in Port Charles and doesn’t want to see his added to it. He asks her how much she knows about Sonny’s plans; she says she knows nothing about any plan, just knows the rules they play by. She thinks he should disappear tonight and promises him nobody will ever come looking for him; she says they all just want to forget he ever existed. When she gets back, Jason and she exchange their respective conversations; Sam fears that Julian is not going to be the only one getting hurt if something goes down between him and Sonny. Julian tells one of his men that he has a heads up that Sonny is making a move, and they need to stop him before he gets the chance.
Ava goes by to see Kiki, and stresses her concerns about Morgan’s temper; she tells Kiki she thinks she should leave him. Tracy tries, as a last-ditch effort, to tell Paul that if he kills her, he is guaranteeing his own death; she Luke Spencer will avenge her, even if the police don’t figure it out. She also does her best to convince him that he needs her to get out of this; she says Dillon knows she was inquiring into Susan’s whereabouts, and if she doesn’t make it home, the police will come looking for her. She tells Paul that she understands his motive, although she doesn’t agree with his methods; she swears she will help him cover it up. Her phone rings (it’s Anna); Paul tells her not to answer it, but she does, and she screams as loud as she can for help. Paul gets ahold of her, destroys her phone, and ties her up and gags her.
After sending away a concerned neighbor who happened to hear Tracy scream, he goes back to Tracy – he tells her he has to do this, but he concedes he cannot strangle her; he goes to a drawer and gets a syringe out instead. Anna bursts in the door. Paul tells her to put her gun down or he will shove the needle in Tracy’s neck; Dillon walks in and tells his dad that if he kills his mother, he will have to kill him too

The tests show that Nathan
is, in fact, the father of Claudette’s baby – she almost looks surprised. Maxie is disappointed. Griffin is mad that Claudette drug him into
it, asking her why she was so afraid the baby might be his, earlier, since she
is acting smug about the results now. Claudette and Nathan go off to talk about
their daughter, alone; Maxie and Griffin have a talk of their own. Claudette tells Nathan that the man she is
currently hiding from is Valentine Cassadine.
Kevin shows up on Laura’s flight home from Greece; at first, she is extremely annoyed that he would fly all the way there just to jump on a plane to fly back with her (trading seats with somebody to get to sit next to her), but then she is somewhat flattered. He shows her the manuscript he turned in… his original one, not the work he started about her – and then, he shows her the manuscript he finished (about her). She realizes, she had it all wrong; the manuscript is beautifully written, and honors her with an entire one-page tribute. After reading it, she tells him she really needs a little time to process everything and figure out how she feels about the whole situation.
Jason brings Sam dinner, in bed; she had laid down for just a short nap that afternoon, and is pleasantly surprised to see that he has fed and put the boys to bed already. They talk about Sonny and his desire to go after Julian again now; Sam brings up Carly and says she doesn’t know how she would handle it. She asks Jason to persuade Sonny to leave Julian alone; that it would be his best option. Jason says he can try, but it would easier if Julian would just leave town. Anna is still hanging out in Paul’s room; she showed Jordan the cufflinks she found and the articles of all the murders.
Jordan leaves, to get a search warrant – Anna makes a call, asking someone for help. Tracy becomes increasingly nervous as Paul starts to tell her the whole story about Susan and why he has been killing all these people; he is under the impression that Susan will suddenly get better after he has avenged everybody that had anything to do with her ending up in the hospital where she is at. Monica’s crime, apparently, was that she couldn’t “prove” that Susan had been raped by Kyle Sloan, because the rape kit results had been screwed up (by the “incompetent” Dr. Mays). Even though Tracy is so bold as to tell Paul that she didn’t realize he was actually NUTS, horribly misguided maybe but not crazy, she offers to become an accomplish to this whole slew of murders in order to keep their son Dillon from ever finding out. He says he can’t take the chance; he gets a blue tie, wrapping it between his hands, and goes after Tracy.
