Dante is on the phone, calling Lulu –
has her purse in his hands; getting worried, he says. He should be frantic.
Well, well… Lulu just came to the surface again. Morgan is completely flipping out at the
police station, threatening to sue everyone; says he should have shot
everybody. Jordan orders him put in
shackles – she wants him restrained.
His doctor (Andre) walks in and demands that they release his patient to him
right now. Paramedics are at the docks to get
Kiki.
Dixon (the gunman) is taunting
Sonny, “the cripple” he calls him, pointing the gun at him… Sonny looks pissed. Lulu is treading water pretty good, while
Dante looks all over inside the boat, then just as he steps out the door, she
goes under again. I guess he sees her
because he jumps into the water; but he’s swimming down about twenty feet, when
it appears from the camera view she is just below the surface – and now after
all that time, she is seemingly unconscious.
Ana and Paul are blaming each other.
Morgan’s doctor explains to Jordan that he is having an acute manic episode and he is a
suicide risk; she agrees to let him go to the hospital.
Back at the church, Dixon is demanding to
know which girl is Sonny’s daughter – same tries to say she is but he doesn’t
believe her… no reaction from Sonny.
Surprisingly, Ava jumps up and offers herself as a hostage instead. He orders her back into her seat. Dante pulls Lulu onto the boat; thank god…
he gave her mouth-to-mouth! Not just
chest compressions. It’s about
time. Dixon grabs Cristina, and turns
to point the gun at everyone else; Sonny jumps out of his chair and knocks him
down. He is standing there, with the gun pointed at Dixon when Carly walks in.
Lulu breathes; Dante tells her he
loves her so much. I’m guessing they
are going to get back together.
Good. Agents are at the church
now – Ana and her officers are taking statements; Paul makes apologies. Carly is a little upset with Sonny for lying
to her; she tells Ava about Kiki being shot, with surprising compassion. Ava heads to the hospital after slapping
Paul. Alexis suspects Sonny knows
something about what happened there tonight – he tells her he knows as much as
she does. Nathan is taken to the
hospital now; Nina is impressed with Franco’s attempt to stall the gunman. Ava comes to see Kiki; she screams at
Morgan, telling him it’s his fault Kiki has been hurt.
Dante brings Lulu in. Ana thanks Sonny for his assistance in
taking down the gunman; he walks out of the church. Paul tells Ana they make on hell of a team and she is
appalled. Carly goes to look at the
crime scene on the docks; starts throwing guns (from the crates) into the
water. Now, come on… there is no way
they would have left those guns there, unsupervised, with just crime scene tape
around them. That’s laughable (this is
the kind of stuff I’m talking about; stupidity). Ana tells Paul she does not even want to be associated with him,
honestly. Jerome apologizes to Alexis;
she tells him she knows this was not his fault. Kiki is now on a breathing machine – Ava kisses her. Morgan realizes he screwed everything up.
As a faithful viewer of General Hospital for thirty+ years, I'm getting concerned for the fate of the show. My other two favorites were cancelled a few years ago; All my Children and One Life to Live, ever-so-briefly revived on the internet, not to yet be seen again, are lost for good it seems. My intention is not only to keep viewers who might have missed out on episodes informed of what is going on, but also to point out the stupidity occasionally written into episodes. Watch out writers!
Tuesday 02-23-2016
The wedding continues, everyone there
oblivious about what’s going on down at the docks. Lulu is now being held captive, mouth taped shut, hands tied to
the railing of her boat; Kiki tells Michael everything she knows and Michael
says he’ll take care of it. But it’s
too late – Morgan has all of the men at gunpoint, telling them to throw their
guns in the water. Kiki heads out the
door. Dante has a bad feeling; Lulu
hasn’t text him back. The men concede
and throw their gun in the water.
Still, for some reason, Morgan ends up firing his gun.
Alexis and Julian say their vows. A lady calls to report shots fired near Pier 54; Dante is really
worried now because that’s where the Haunted Star is. Apparently, the shot missed hitting anyone, but two guys are on
the ground looking a little frightened.
Paul is trying to talk Morgan into leaving; two of the guys jump Morgan
and grab the gun. Now Morgan is the one
on the ground. Alexis and Julian
exchange rings. Ava notices Kiki isn’t
there. They don’t wait for the preacher
to say kiss the bride before kissing. The guy holding Lulu throws her into the water – hands
untied now; but she instantly sinks, as if she is knocked out cold.
Morgan stands up to the guy holding the gun on him now and tells him to
shoot him; Paul tells him he better not or Sonny will hunt them all down and
kill them. Says this kid is crazy; and
that makes Morgan flip out again – Kiki runs into the scene telling Morgan to watch out –
she gets shot. The federal task force
gets there with Ana; one guy sneaks away.
Meantime, Lulu is still sinking… then jets to the surface. The preacher finishes the ceremony and
announces them husband and wife. The
guy that got away runs into the church, shooting; he’s going to hold everyone
hostage. Sonny tells him he better walk
out of here right now. He tells Sonny
that Morgan screwed everything up.
Apparently Lulu can’t swim because she just sunk again, keeps going up
and down; Dante just got there and is calling out for her. The gunman (Dixon) makes introductions. Ava is thankful Kiki isn’t there.
Commissioner Jordan is upset that Ana and
Paul didn’t let her know this was happening… Morgan is taken in as a federal
witness. Michael says he will go with
him. Paramedics are on their way; Carly
starts CPR. Sonny is trying to talk the
gunman into letting him call a car, Sonny offers money as well; Nathan stands
up to try to tackle the gunman while he’s distracted, but gets shot. Lulu calls out to Dante, and then sinks
again – this time, I guess, passing out – she is having visions of her life
with Dante, meeting him, falling in love.
Dante still doesn’t see her. Morgan
makes such a scene at the police station that he gets arrested. Nathan lays bleeding on the floor, Lucas
tries to help, but is threatened by the gunman; Maxie gets up and tells him he
will have to shoot her then because she is going to help him. He allows her to go to him.
While he was standing in front of Sonny’s
chair talking to everyone else, I was thinking Sonny was going to stand up and
tackle him from behind; but no…not yet I guess – he turns around and points the
gun at Sonny, saying maybe he should just shoot him now. End of episode.
Monday 02-22-2016
Ok, so everyone is getting ready to head to Alexis and
Julian’s wedding; Nicolas and Hayden are taking their time though. Maxie brings Nathan his tuxedo at work –
Julian cuts his hand opening a bottle of champagne (the blood on his hands,
from Olivia’s vision). Olivia is still
uneasy though… suggests they leave Leo at home with the Nanny. Sonny is prepared to make his appearance; he
says a prayer. Morgan, however, is
still on the docs, ready to prove his manhood.
Ana is talking to Michael; wants to make sure no one from
the Corinthos organization interferes with the sting going down tonight. Paul is trying to close the deal now;
trouble getting the crates off the boat.
Morgan waits. They have a new
actress playing Carly’s youngest… the little girl (Joslyn); she had gone to
live with Jax but is back for the wedding.
Ava, Kiki and Lucas are all heading over to the church. Olivia tells the girls she still has to
finish her vows; she reads a letter that Julian left for her, recalling all the
moments they had together falling in love.
Julian is surprised to see Sonny, but pleasantly so – he explains that
he is there for Cristina. Sam
congratulates Hayden on their wedding when they finally show; mentions Vegas
(to see if it bothers Hayden).
Kiki
gets Morgan’s voicemail; now she’s worried.
Nina finds out that Franco never wants to get married… Franco makes a
scene, announcing loudly that he thinks marriage ruins everything. Everyone looks at them. Ana is still there when Michael finds
Sonny’s empty gun case; he suspects Morgan is up to something. Morgan comes out from behind the crate –
hiding the gun for the moment. He tells
the men who his dad is; that they should be concerned about doing business in
his city. The men want to ‘get rid’ of
Morgan; Paul tells them they should just let him go. Brad gives Lucas a ‘wedding present’ (his divorce papers from
Rosalee); Brad doesn’t have time to tell him how… wedding is starting. Kiki calls Michael and tells him Morgan is
on Pier 54. Morgan pulls the gun out
and tells the men he’s in charge now.
Tough guy.
Friday 02-19-2016
Lulu confronts Olivia about her part in trapping Dante and Lulu in the
hotel room; Olivia is thrilled to hear that they are at least talking. Dante asks Anna if she any insight on who
might be running arms through Port Charles.
Ava meets with Paul; Dixon wants to meet her personally, and does. It’s the day of Alex and Julian’s wedding;
she’s frantic. Sam shows up to help
with the finishing touches.
Kiki tells her cousin, Lucas, about Morgan’s latest dumb
decision. Morgan tells Sonny he’s
moving out; Sonny wishes him well with no job and no place else to go. Morgan tells Sonny he got a job offer from Julian
Jerome. Sonny reminds him to be
careful; to remember that he is sick… tells him it’s best if he goes, though,
if he won’t take his meds – tells him he loves him, but he can’t help him if he
won’t help himself.
The girls give Alexis the traditional wedding gifts
(something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue); an old
toy Camaro from Sam…a reminder of Sam’s conception, a new family photo from
Cristina, a pair of handcuffs (borrowed from Diane) and blue ribbons from
Molly. Cristina figures out that Molly
finally had sex; Alexis cries. Then she
tells the girls they can tell her anything, any time… Molly tells Cristina
that’s her cue. She assures Alexis its
no big deal; it can wait until after the wedding.
Anna calls Paul out for gun-running… he tells her he’s
working on a sting operation. Asks her
to help him bring this guy in tonight; Anna says they have to make sure Sonny
stays out of it – Paul assures her Sonny is not a problem. Kiki tells Ava she and Morgan are over
again, this time, for good. Morgan
tries to call Kiki… he has big plans to prove to everyone that he is not the
screw up they think he is. Lulu puts
herself in danger, going back onto the boat.
Dante has a missed call from her.
Paul shows up with the money (sting, in action); Morgan is hiding behind
a crate with a gun.
Thursday 02-18-2016
Olivia comes to tell Julian she had another premonition (then lies and
says she just wanted to wish them a wonderful future)…see blood on Julian’s
hands in her vision before leaving. Sam
asks Nicolas why she should investigate his new wife; Hayden is talking with
Diane; having legal papers drawn up that Nicolas doesn’t know about. Sam refuses to Nicolas at first, after all
he’s done to her – he asks her to consider helping for Spencer’s sake. She concedes. Nicolas tells her about Baxter Corbin and the fact that he called
Hayden ‘Rachel’ in Las Vegas. Paul
tells Anna about his daughter, Susan, from whom he is estranged. Kyle Sloan’s fault, he says; Paul cut her
off for doing drugs when she met Sloan… he demeaned her, physically assaulted
her, raped her and beat her savagely one night. Says he looked for her for years, but lost track until he was
called to replace Sloan as district attorney.
Morgan tells his parents he is taking his meds (but he’s not). Tells Sonny he wanted to work for his real
organization and leaves mad. On the
docks, Morgan overhears a discussion about a gun shipment – they rented the
Haunted Start to make sure the docks would be empty at 6pm. Carly and Sonny are worried about Morgan; he
might do something stupid.
Wednesday 02-17-2016
So, Morgan does
his best to convince Kiki that he was making out with Darby for her, so
he could ‘fix’ whatever is wrong with him.
Dante questions Sonny about the gun smuggling operation in Port Charles;
Sonny denies any knowledge (then encourages him to fix things with Lulu). Lulu tells Maxie that she and Dante have
decided to try to work on things; Lulu realizes she’s in Maxie and Nathan’s way
– she decides to move onto the Haunted Star.
Dante is not happy about that.
Sonny quietly confides in Avery while he is alone with her;
Kiki listens to Morgan’s explanation; she’s dumbfounded –leaves, saying she
never wants to see him again. Michael
comes to see Sonny; Sonny alludes to a plan to get Avery back… won’t give details
though. Michael offers to help, but
Sonny tells him to stay out of it. Anna
runs into Paul… pretending to be interested, she invites him to lunch. They decide to go somewhere private to talk;
Anna admits she had been involved with Sloane before; Paul discloses his
regrets about Tracy and his kids… tells Anna he feels close to her (then she
gets a text – Paul sees it). Anna asks
Paul if he is going to kill her; she admits that she knows he killed Sloan and
passed him off as Carlos Rivera. Paul
says he had to kill him… he only regrets that he didn’t get away with it.
Morgan comes home; Michael notices he is a little
‘off’. Sonny confronts him; fires him
from his job at the coffee warehouse. Dante
is concerned for the safety of Lulu and Rocco, with all the activity going on
down at the docs. Who is that man on
the boat with her? He tells her he
wants to rent the place out, tomorrow.
Says he has his own staff.
Tuesday 02-16-2016
Kiki talks to Franco about Morgan’s problem… Morgan is irritated by
Cristina (she knows he’s been drinking again).
Anna needs to talk to Ava; she’s approached by Dillon to do a
photoshoot. Monica wants to send Jake
somewhere else for special treatment.
Sonny’s doctor wants to talk to him – “should I call you godfather?” he
asks. Paul tries to talk to Tracy; he
needs her help with Dillon. Sonny tells
doctor Mumford not to believe everything he reads. He tells Sonny he’s not willing to pretend to treat him for a
condition he no longer has. Franco has
a difficult time talking to Kiki about Morgan’s problem – but handles it pretty
well. Kiki wonders if its her. Morgan is obviously off his meds now,
talking a mile a minute, Cristina senses something is wrong; she leaves and xx
shows up. Will he screw up again? Yeah.
Probably.
Ava begs Kiki for another fresh start… everything in the
past is water under the bridge, she says.
Sonny calls the doctor out for being high and mighty. He talks him into staying on his case, for
now. Jake is getting transferred to
Shriner’s Hospital – Elizabeth tells Franco he has been surprisingly
supportive. Alexis and the girls are excited
to hear that Sam and Jason are getting closer.
He stops by to say goodbye; going to the hospital with Jake. Paul senses something is wrong with Tracy –
she is beginning to wonder what is happening, too. He leaves, shaking his head.
Carly comes back in and sense a little tension between Sonny and his
doctor. Sonny asks Carly to go to
Alexis’ wedding with him. Franco seems
genuinely affectionate toward Elizabeth and Jake. Strange. Sam isn’t
thrilled to hear that Jason is going with Elizabeth to Philadelphia; but they
say goodbye with a sweet kiss.
Monday 02-15-2016
Sam and Jason are getting much closer; he’s remembering how it feels to
be with her – understanding now, they have a connection. Elizabeth is moving into the castle with
Nicolas and Hayden for the time being… that ought to be fun! Lulu and Dante are locked in the hotel room,
on a vacant floor (Olivia moved all the guests to other floors so no one would
hear them yelling; how funny).
Nathan
has Valentine’s day plans for Maxi; I think he is about to propose. Hayden and Nicolas tell Elizabeth that they are
married – she is shocked. Jordan warns
Valerie away from Curtis. Andre confronts
Curtis at the bar. Maxi left an
assignment for Lulu and Dante. They are
both just being stubborn in my opinion.
Ok… it wasn’t a proposal; after tell Maxi he wants to build a future
with her, he gives her charm for her bracelet.
Elizabeth gets a call from the orthopedic surgeon; might be bad news
about Jake’s injuries. Jason and Sam
decide they want to spend more time together; he also gets a call from the
hospital. Goes to see Jake. Dante and Lulu decide to maybe give things
another try, learning to communicate better.
Nicolas reassures Hayden that he loves her; then calls Sam to
investigate his wife.
Friday 02-12-2016
Jordan tells T.J.’s uncle (the stranger at the pool table who's name is Curtis) to get out of town; he’s at the bar, on a date with Valerie. Jordan’s date shows up – Andre. Laura calls Lulu to come get her for the
night, says she needs to get out of the house.
Molly has figured out Cristina’s secret. Hayen shows off the bracelet Nicolas gave her; it was Helana’s –
Laura tells him it may not belong to him.
She gives him the notice of the reading of Helana’s will. Sam begs Jason to get her out of the hospital. Lulu has a flashback of the Valentine’s day
that Dante gave her a necklace in her glass of champaine. Cristina tells Molly to back off. Jason talks Lucas into releasing Sam,
promising to keep an eye on her.
Everyone seems concerned about what’s in Helana’s will, except for
Nicolas.
Laura tells Lulu to have a good evening; she’s leaving the
Floating Rib – guess she didn’t want to spend the evening with Lulu, just
wanted off the island. Nicolas and
Hayden make love. Maxi sets up a
massage and ‘night of pampering’ for Lulu (something tells me there is more to
it than that) – she tells Lulu she and Nathan want the apartment to
themselves. She calls Nathan and tells
him to give Dante a message; he tells Dante the desk sergeant wants him to
check out a ‘B&E’ at the Metro Court – same room Maxi sent Lulu up to,
501. Jordan blames Curtis for things
between her and T.J.’s dad not working out.
Lucas invites Cristina to go out with him and Brad. Molly meets T.J., he’s slipped the hostess a
tip for a table, shouldn’t be long he says; Molly suggests they leave instead,
and go back to her dorm, to have sex.
He looks shocked. Dante is in
the room when Lulu walks in; the door is locked from the outside when Lulu
tries to leave.
Jason put Danny to bed; Sam tells Jason she is really glad
he is there with her and Danny. He
says, “so am I”. Elizabeth does not
want to leave Jake at the hospital; last time she did, Helana took him. Hayden is sneaking out of the room while
Nicolas sleeps; she is trying to open the safe. T.J. questions why the
sudden change of mind; Molly tells him she just decided that she wants to be
with him… really be with him. No
pressure. She swears, its her choice. Cristina calls her dad to tell
him happy valentine’s day. Laura comes home. Sam and Jason kiss!!!
Thursday 02-11-2016
I think Tracy had a stroke… she swears she is fine now, but
it sure was weird. Nicolas checks out
Baxter Corbin; he’s an investment advisor for a company called ‘Capital
Management’. Ok. Sam is bruised and banged up, but otherwise
ok; already tired of being in the hospital.
Dr. Mumford insists Sonny tell him why he is keeping his progress from
his wife; Sonny explains that sometimes it is better to appear weak when you
are strong. The doctor shakes his head,
but says he will keep Sonny’s secret so long as Sonny is honest with
him about his progress.
Hayden is concerned about Tracy, but she insists she is
ok. Nicolas sees the news about
Elizabeth’s house. Nathan is not happy
with Maxi’s pictures; she reassures him.
Alexis brings Cristina and Molly to visit Sam in the hospital (is
Cristina’s secret about failing school about to come out?) – Sam covers for
her. Elizabeth and Jason talk to Jake
about lying. Elizabeth admits that her
lies have hurt many others. Cristina asks
Sonny to come to Alexis’ wedding, for her; he says he’ll consider it.
Wednesday 02-10-2016
Nicolas and Hayden come back home from their elopement acting like
teenagers in love. Laura is there,
waiting to speak to Nicolas; congratulates them and waits to talk to Nicolas in
private. Nina stops by Maxi’s to talk
about the photo shoot – Nathan tells her she’s already at the shoot (apparently
Nina forgot when it was). Michael talks
to Tracy about the lawsuit; she tells him she has a plan to take back ELQ
without the lawsuit. Sonny vows to shut
down the Jeromes… Max talks with Sonny about his plans; Carly tells Sonny it is
time to meet his new doctor, Mumford?
Olivia and Leo just finished the photo shoot… Julian offers
to take the flash drive to Nina; Olivia goes with him to make sure he doesn’t
destroy it on the way. I can’t really
tell if Sonny is happy or not that the man he met in the chapel is his new
doctor. He still seems a little
suspicious. Dillon tells Maxi they need
a young face to go with this issue – he wants it to be her. She agrees to let him take her picture (they
end up taking A LOT of pictures).
‘Maxi’ is a very pretty girl.
Michael tells Tracy not to do anything to make it worse –
she tells him she knows what she’s doing; tells him to leave as soon as Hayden
walks in. Tracy is upset at first when
Hayden tells her she had to sign a pre-nup; then she decides it might work
after all. Hmm, Tracy knows Hayden’s
real name is Rachael? Now what. She suddenly freezes, mid-sentence while
giving Hayden instructions – out of it, for a couple of seconds – (did she just
have a stroke?) something happened... unusual for sure.
Nathan tells Nina if she and Franco were to have kids, they'd be lucky to have her as a mother. Laura is concerned for Nicolas' happiness; he assures her he is happy. She wishes them the best and leaves. Nicolas is not complete fooled by Hayden - that's good. he looks up 'Baxter Corbin'.
Sonny seems comfortable enough with Dr. Mumford; the doctor questions Apiphany about Sonnys progress. Dillon tells Maxi the camera sees through to her soul, which is “even more beautiful”. Nathan seems a little bit jealous. Nina and Olivia review her pictures and talk about the ‘real women’ issue. Dr. Mumford asks Sonny why he is lying to his wife.

Tuesday 02-09-2016
Ok,
so A LOT happens in today’s episode.
Alexis and Julian are keeping Leo overnight; Ava comes by to see
Julian. Alexis gets a phone call about
Sam being in the explosion and leaves to go see her. Ava tells Julian that she is jealous of the life he is living;
Julian asks if she’s having second thoughts about running the
organization. She admits that she may
be in over her head this time.
Anna goes to see Paul… she tells him that she has been
searching for Carlos, and that she failed. So, even though she knows damn well that Carlos is alive and Paul
has something to do with the cover-up, she tells Paul that she ‘knows’
he is dead better than anyone – she’s just in denial – says, it’s easier for
her to believe that there’s a cover-up… a mystery to be solved. Tells him she even convinced Robert to
follow her, chasing non-existent clues; but, that it was a ‘total fantasy’ (he
touches her face). Hm, creepy.
Nathan shows up at Maxi’s door (tells her he wants to move
in together); I forgot they weren’t still living together). He moved in above Kelly’s a while back. Maxi’s apartment, which used to be Lulu’s,
is Lulu’s again…she’s moved back in. Man, Elizabeth may not be able to
handle all of this without cracking again; loosing Jason, him getting closer to
Sam, Jake getting hit by a car again, and now her house explodes? (Are the writers trying to drive her
to another breakdown?)
Jason goes to check on Jake; lets
the nurse know he will be in with Sam now if they need him. Eizabeth is
standing there when he turns around. She tells him that she just wants to
thank him, because he also saved their son that day - because if Sam had died,
at his hands... she's just thankful. She tells Jason that she understands
there is an "instinctive connection" between him and Sam and that it
is not going to go away.
Paul tells Anna she is a great
investigator; she breaks down and tells him she blames herself for Robin being
gone all these years... that she, as her mother, should have known somehow that
something was wrong. Paul shares his own disappointments about his
relationship with his son; said he made no effort to maintain contact when
he was little, putting his own ambitions ahead of his child. Mentions two
daughters as well, the youngest, Jenny, and Susan; says he didn't do any better
for them than he did for Dillon.
Sam reassures Elizabeth that Jake
did NOT push her – she just lost her balance and fell.
Paul offers Anna a drink; she smiles, “raincheck,” she says,
as she makes her way out the door. She
asks herself, “what am I doing?” Lulu
is shocked when Maxi tells her Nathan is moving in with them; but she loves the
idea and quickly suggests a movie and popcorn.
Alexis comes home happy Sam’s good; Ava makes a quick exit.
Who’s following Anna now??? As Jason and Sam talk, Elizabeth goes home and looks at the devastation. Kind of sad, even knowing it’s all staged. Just the thought is tough.
Monday 02-08-2016
Jason goes looking for Sam at Elizabeth… The commissioner (Jordan) goes
to see Paul at his request- he tells her he is impressed by her work and he
respects her. She’s slightly
suspicious, and probably with good reason.
Anna discusses her situation with Andre (the most recent psychologist
added to the show); she tells him his psycho-assessment of Carlos was “spot
on”. Robert is still pursuing their
lead; she came back to make sure nobody got suspicious.
Jake believes he killed Sam, he tells his mother – she just
thinks he’s confused. Jason calls out
to Sam, opens the basement door, and tells Sam they need to go. He says “run to me, now” (ok, still not
really there); Sam gets up… nope, she’s still out cold. Anna admits that she has been looking for a
diversion lately; that she is unsure about the rest of her life. Carly and Sonny decide to go to meet Michael
at the Floating Rib.
Alright – Jason is really there now… he sees Sam on the
floor (please don’t have him start pumping her chest). Good, he grabs her and carries her out. The wall outlet bursts into flame. A can of heating oil right by the flames
ignites, the house explodes just as Jason gets to the front door with
Sam. They are blown out into the yard.
Michael tells his parents that he is going to Puerto Rico to
find Sabrina… they talk him out of it.
Paul asks Jordan if she’s heard from Anna; says he’s worried about
her. She says no. Anna tells Andre she feels like Paul has a
bigger agenda – he suggests maybe Paul just wants her. She denies that. Dillon confronts Paul after Jordan leaves his office; angry
about his lies. He asks him why he
really came back to Port Charles. Paul
pleads his cause; Dillon isn’t buying it.
Carly tells Michael he should respect Sabrina’s feelings and honor her
choice to leave.
Franco gives Elizabeth
a friendly hug; they talk. He assures
her that she’s a good mother, reminds her that Jake needs her and tells her to
stop hating herself. She thanks
him. Her neighbor calls to tell her
about the explosion at her house.
Friday 02-05-2016
Lucas tells Elizabeth and Jason that there was a slight complication
during surgery; a second source of bleeding (but they repaired it) and he should
be okay. The cord in the basement is
now smoking, as it continues sparking.
Sam is still passed out. Molly
talks to Cristina; tells her she knows she is in some kind of
trouble. Urges her to tell what’s going
on – Molly assumes it has something to do with a guy. Nina tells Franco she wants to start looking into adoption, filing out applications and whatnot. Franco now tells her that he is sure no one will let them adopt a baby with their history. Nina says she will figure out how to do it on her own, if he doesn’t want to.
Morgan insists he just needs to leave now; that makes Kiki a
little angry and she starts ranting and calling him names – he tells her “its
not working” (she thinks he means their relationship and is still mad)… he
explains, it is his penis that is not working.
Probably side effect of the meds.
They both agree they really want to make their relationship work, so
they are going to continue taking it slow.
Sonny goes to the chapel; finds someone else there. He invites him in, “plenty of room”. He offers assistance; Sonny tells him he has
it under control. They talk about
asking for influence over events they can’t control themselves; Sonny says
everyone can use a helping hand, ‘even control freaks like us?’ this stranger asks. He questions Sonny about the wheelchair…
Sonny expresses his gratitude for the hospital and their staff. Carly tells Elizabeth she and Sonny wanted
to be there for Jason – and for her too.
She offers words of encouragement to Elizabeth, saying they have a
lifetime to be bitter toward each other.
Jake wakes up after surgery and says that it was an accident; he didn’t
mean to hurt her. Before Jake can answer who he didn’t mean to hurt, Elizabeth comes to tell Jason that the doctor needs to speak to them. He just tells them Jake needs to rest now.
Molly pushes Cristina for more information and Cristina
tells her a partial truth; she and her professor, tragic love story of sorts,
but there’s a wife involved (everything except the fact that her professor is a
woman). The gentleman Sonny is speaking
to in the chapel is appreciative of Sonny’s words about the hospital and the
town – he gets up to leave and drops a necklace; St. Aloysius (he explains, it
is usually worn, these days, by people with AIDS and those who care for
them). Sonny mentions that he lost
someone to that too. He wishes Sonny
well – Carly comes in; “friend of yours?”
Sonny tells her they didn’t get around to names, but he felt like a
friend.
Jason leaves again, to go get food. Jake wakes up, crying out, "I'm sorry" - when Elizabeth asks him what he's sorry for, he says, "I killed her". The smoke detector is going off in the
basement now; Sam starts coughing. She
is waking up. Griffin Monroe is the
name of Sonny’s new friend – turns out, he is the new neurosurgeon – an old
friend of Lucas from med school. Jason
is now looking for Sam… Molly tells him last she saw her, last night, she was
headed to Elizabeth’s house. Now he
senses something is wrong... he heads to Elizabeth's.
Nina expresses to Franco that she doesn’t want to do it
without him, but she really, really wants a baby – he asks her, why now? She says she just feels the instinct; she
has more love to give. He asks if she
really thinks its time to test their relationship by adding a third person to
it; she resolves that she has faith in them, but he doesn’t. Franco convinces her that he just wants to enjoy
some time, the two of them, to catch their breath and be responsible for each
other before they are responsible for another life. She says ok. Morgan tells
Kiki that he wants to stop taking the pills.
Frustrated, not able to do the one thing he really enjoys – Kiki tells
him their relationship means more to her than sex; it’s a bonus. She can be ok without it for now. He said he’s not; he leaves. She’s confused. Morgan throws his pills in a garbage can ; goes into the bar and
orders a beer.

Who
is this Baxter Corbin? He insists
Hayden is Rachael… With Nicolas and Hayden just married in Vegas, they get
ready to head up to the honeymoon suite; everyone else, back in Port Charles,
seems to be headed to the local bar.
Dillon and Valerie are out together and decide to play a game of pool;
but the new stranger in town is 'holding' the table – he agrees to play one of them for
the table. Morgan and Kiki decide to
head back to Franco’s apartment.
Lulu and Maxi show up at the bar… Dillon suggests they might want to go
elsewhere. Lulu says Valerie doesn’t
bother her anymore. Dante and Nathan
show up next… Maxi suggests they go elsewhere.
Lulu refuses to leave, saying they all just need to learn how to get
along. Meanwhile, back in Vegas, Hayden tells Nicolas to head on up to the room; she wants to buy some new lingerie.
Jake is in surgery now – everything looks good so far; Lucas
suggests Jason and Elizabeth go home and get some rest and food... they both respond
they are not going anywhere, although he does decide shortly thereafter to go
get food. Sam tries to call out for
help; she isn’t doing well. She’s
falling asleep. She thinks she sees
Jason; he encourages her to get up, saying, “run to me”. He tells her he always knows where she is,
and again says, “run to me”. Jason has Camron when he shows back up.
Hayden tells this Baxter Corbin that they need to talk; she
pays him off, telling him, “I’m not Rachael…you don’t know me”. Morgan and Kiki, now at the apartment,
figure out they are alone and start making out – Kiki halts it;
apologizes for the mixed signals. They talk about
renegotiating boundaries and decide to take it slow. They decide to play board games to distract them from their
desires for each other. Lulu makes an
attempt to apologize to Valerie at the bar; Valerie refuses to accept her
apology. Elizabeth is happy to see
Cameron; but feeling regretful and says all her boys deserve a better
mother. Hayden makes it back to the
room, professing her love and making a big deal about finally being able to be
honest with each other. Lol.
Jason’s [imagined] words empower Sam. She starts to stand, as the old heater
starts to spark. Jason disappears – she
calls out to him… (camera view pans up to show Sam still sleeping on the floor,
the heater glowing). Kiki changes her
mind again. She and Morgan start making out once more – Morgan stops it this
time. There may be complications with
Jake’s surgery.

Scott stops by to visit Franco; asks about Kiki, then Nina… Nina comes
home ready to have sex. She has
decided she wants a baby of her own; Franco is extremely hesitant. Franco tells Nina that he does want to have
a baby with her – sounds cold – then he explains, he just doesn’t want to pass
on his DNA to a kid. He mentions Jake
(not even his kid); how he recognizes himself in his eyes. The thought of one of his own, scares him to
death. He tells Nina they can think
about adoption; then suggests still having sex with the time she has left before
going back to work.
Carly is surprised to see Avery when she comes home (Avery
said ‘daddy’ – how cute); Carly fears Ava’s reaction when she finds out Avery
is there… Ava shows up at the door, after Kiki tells her she left her with
Sonny because “daughters need their fathers”.
Kiki and Morgan go ahead with their ‘date’; agree not to talk about
Ava. Carly tells Sonny she can tell he
has something on Ava – he admits, maybe so.
Morgan and Kiki kiss.
Nicolas and Hayden are at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas; he
tells here there is one thing he needs before he can marry her – he hands her a
pre-nup (only $5 million if she leaves).
She signs it. Tracie talks to
Laura about Nicolas and Hayden (Laura has no idea that Tracie is somehow in cahoots
with Hayden)… still a little bit in the blue about that, myself. Nicolas manages to make a hokey Camelot
Chapel wedding rather romantic.
When Ava reaches for Avery, Sonny tells her not to put her hands on his daughter – oh, if looks could kill! Ava is shocked. Sonny insists Avery will be safer with him. She takes her anyway and tells Sonny she may not let him see Avery ever again. She calls her attorney as soon as she leaves; Sonny assures Carly that he knows what he is doing. Scott tells Ava she has no recourse against Sonny – her own daughter took Avery there – why she would be defying Ava would come into question… he suggests giving Sonny custody of Avery for the time being. She refuses.

Ok, so yeah... foregoing all the drama of the kid getting hit by a car, Jake is now lying in a hospital bed, with a broken arm, broken leg, and internal injuries they say - bruised, but not bloody. That's good. Elizabeth blames herself; Monica tries to comfort her - Jason blames himself, too. Jake wakes up... seems confused; keeps talking about Sam. Sam is starting to wake up - talking to herself... sees her phone - it's busted. She crawls toward the dryer, sits up and pulls down the laundry basket. She's getting cold.
Kiki takes Avery for the day; Ava is supposedly sick (but Paul is on his way over)... Morgan thinks his mom is checking up on him at the hospital; she's actually there to see if they found another doctor for Sonny. Paul has another job for Ava - reminds her that he still has the recording of her confession to killing Connie. She tells him she is through sleeping with him; tells him to get out. Then tells him she'll let him know if she changes her mind. Alright.
Robert and Ana are in jail, in Halifx... mistaken for armed robbers in Carlos and Sabrina's motel room. Felicia and Max come to get them out. Why haven't we seen any more of Sabrina since giving birth last week? We don't even know if that baby was alive. They are waiting an awful long time to tell us... not cool. Michael presses Felix for answers about Sabrina... he can't accept that she and the baby are not coming back to him. Paul calls Anna to tell her he needs to see her when she comes back to town. Looks forward to seeing new pictures of Emma.
Sonny is plotting his resumption of power; talks to Michael about staying away from the business. Kiki takes Avery to see him, against her mom's wishes. Kiki decides to leave Avery with Sonny and goes out on a date with Morgan; Ava sees them out without Avery. Sam sees a space heater and crawls over to it, plugs it in and turns it on; she's falling asleep... it sparks. So a fire is next??

Who is Parker? Obviously Cristina has more than one secret. Lulu tells Dante she wants to fight for
their marriage, while Oliver struggles with her newfound infamy. Nina supports her; tells her she wants to do
an article in her in Crimson. Sam is laying at the bottom of the stairs now,
bloody from her fall into the basement; Jake hides as his sitter calls down to
him, “is everything ok down there?”
Ok, Parker is a former teacher of Cristina; a lesbian… she
accuses Cristina of having posted things online (they both lie to Alexis about
what’s really going on). Hmmm, there is
something between them. Jason and
Elizabeth talk to the psychiatrist; she agrees there is ‘cause for concern’ and
schedules an appointment for the following morning. Dante and Lulu reminisce; they so obviously still love each other
– seem to be getting closer. They
eventually admit that they both still are in love; they kiss – they lay down on
the bed… and Lulu freaks. “Wait, I’m
sorry” (what?) they sit up and decide that it’s over. Their love just isn’t enough; they sign the divorce papers.
Parker lays it all out: Cristina propositioned her, she
says. Christina points out that Parker
made the firsts move; Christina’s grades were low, Parker offered tutoring at
her house, at night, with wine… come on.
Parker moves closer to her; threatens to tell her mom what’s going on –
tells her not to squander her potential and to make good use of her time away
from school. Nina is excited for this
edition; Julian isn’t happy about it.
Alexis thinks it’s a great idea.
Friday 01-29-2016
Dante has filed for divorce, unable to forgive Lulu for her
part in Valerie’s abduction; Lulu wants Dante back. The mayor tries to
blackmail Dante into getting his mother to drop the lawsuit; he throws her out
of his apartment. That lady’s a
bitch. Olivia is nervous about all the
attention she is getting; she realizes the lawsuit is about something bigger. Christina is going to try to pretend that
she is still in school, get a place, get a job; Sam laughs at that. Sam presses Christina to tell her what
really went on with her professor at school.
I think she was having sex with him and it backfired on her.
Lulu is planning a surprise for Dante; she is surprised when
she finds the divorce papers. Franco
tries to tell Elizabeth that he is seriously concerned about Jake’s drawings…
Jason has serious concerns of his own.
Elizabeth and Jason finally talk to Franco. Meanwhile, at home with the babysitter, Jake throws a stone
coaster threw the window while the babysitter is upstairs washing her hair; he
cuts his finger. Sam comes to the
door. He tells her someone threw a rock
through the window, but Sam sees the glass outside on the ground; she
confronts Jake about it. He runs
off. Why doesn’t she just call out to
the babysitter? The mayor threatens to
cancel all scheduled functions at the hotel if Olivia doesn’t drop the
lawsuit. Dante comes home to find Lulu
there. Jason tells Elizabeth that it
has been Jake doing everything this whole time. Oh, Sam definitely shouldn’t follow Jake down into the basement! This is not going to end well… she falls; of
course, I knew it. Ah, man.
What about Sabrina’s baby?
Thursday 01-28-2016
Franco is trying to make nice with Sam; she is irritated by
the attempt. Jake is being
difficult. Morgan is acting a little
bit manic again. Sonny is practicing
standing up again, when Carly walks in on him; he falls back into his chair and
denies that he was actually standing, then he makes her swear she won’t tell
anyone what she saw. Jason stops by and
tells Elizabeth he will stay with Jake; he notices something strange about Jake’s
drawings. Anna and Robert are still
hunting for Carlos… Sabrina is in labor now.
Jason reassures Jake that he still loves him, but explains again that he
is not going to live there anymore; he is starting to remember being with Sam.
Paul calls Anna to check on her, he suspects that she knows
he is dirty…in on the cover-up of Carlos’ faked death. Carlos assures Sabrina he will take care of
her and the baby; Sabrina said she realizes that love is all that matters. Sam accuses Franco of staging the break-in
at Elizabeth’s; Franco is confused.
Jason tells Elizabeth about his memory flash; and that he wants to
remember everything. Sonny feels guilty
about lying to Carly. Paul tells Anna
they need to reevaluate how to move forward.
Morgan talks Kiki into at least going on a date; she promises nothing
more. Franco senses Jake is troubled. Sam gets information out of him. Sabrina gives birth; the baby is not crying... Carlos looks scared. Sonny knows Ava is smuggling guns and is making plans to shut her down and take back his territory; once he is back steady on his feet, he says, they won’t suspect a thing. Jason finds Jake’s drawing and is starting to put everything together.
I think Jake is the one who broke the picture, trying to make it look like Sam did it… I can’t believe they haven’t done more to find out what happened to that boy when he was gone all those years, being held captive by the crazy Cassadines.
Wednesday 01-27-2016
Anna and Robert are desperately looking for Sabrina, who has
run off with Carlos, birth impending.
Sabrina tells Carlos she cannot go any further because the baby is about
to deliver; she tells him to leave her there if he needs to keep
traveling. Darby is hitting on Morgan;
he’s still hung up on Kiki, so he turns her away – after kissing for a few
minutes.
DA Paul Horton is almost too
adamantly professing to Kiki that there is no relationship, whatsoever, between
him and Ava, personal or otherwise; in fact, stressing that he may have to put
Ava in prison for the rest of her life if that ‘missing evidence’ ever turns
up. Paul gets in the elevator with Ava
and asks what, exactly, she has told her daughter about them.
Ava ultimately refuses Carly’s request to spend more
time with Avery; Carly lets her know what a bitch she thinks she is, and tells
her they will get custody back. Michael
is bummed that he was too late in going to tell Sabrina that he loved her
anyway and wanted to raise her baby.
Sonny and Carly catch Darby at the warehouse with Morgan; an argument
ensues. Kiki talks with Julian; she is
thinking about Morgan, while he is making out with Darby. Sabrina skips out on her prenatal appointment when Carlos sees Anna and Robert standing in the waiting room. Julian tells Ava that Sonny put a curse on him, even though he swears he is no longer ‘in the business’. Morgan says he is taking his meds and feeling ‘normal’ again; he tells Kiki he wants to be more than friends again. Carly walks in on Sonny, standing. Sabrina tells Carlos the baby is coming, right now. Sonny vows to destroy Julian.
Tuesday 01-26-2016
Olivia is on the front page of the local
newspaper for attempting to breastfeed her baby in public (which made me mad
too, because she never did feed that kid once the mayor started harassing her;
they should have had her just whip it out and pop it in his mouth right there
in font of the bitch). Instead, the
baby just cried and cried as she tried to console him and defend her rights as
a mother.
Sonny shows Apiphany that he can pull himself up out of his chair and stand briefly; but he swears her to secrecy, not wanting anybody else to know. Julian asks Lucas to be his best man. Olivia gets harassed by a reporter. Lulu goes to see Johnny at the jailhouse; he tells her he is still in love with her. Maxie is still keeping a few secrets from Nathan; but Nathan makes peace with Dillon for Lulu and Maxie’s sake, and forgives Maxie for her part in hiding Johnny.
Dante tells Olivia that he can never forgive Lulu and he wants a divorce; Olivia pleads for him to reconsider – telling him it’s easy to stay angry because, when you are busy being angry, you don’t have to feel the pain. That’s deep. I like that. Julian swears to Sonny that he had nothing to do with his shooting, and asks for a truce; Sonny refuses. Lulu and Dillon talk… they agree to remain friends, and to try to do better in the future.

Monday 01-25-2016
Tracy has gone on vacation to try to clear her
mind, and get away from all the men in her life that are dragging her down; she
runs into one from her past. Hayden
accepts Nicholas’ proposal. Alexis is
fired up about her impending lawsuit against the mayor; Julian and Alexis
discuss wedding plans.
There is a stranger in town (the one blackmailing Hayden); he knows the commissioner and TJ (his father’s brother). Nicholas tells Laura that he and Hayden are getting married; she’s not happy about it. Jason and Sam talk about the memory he had; she explains more of the details of the event to him…he has another recollection. Sam questions whether she should be the one helping him figure all this out.
The commissioner is not happy about her visitor; she suspects he is up to something, and well he is. Christina is upset with Molly for telling Sam about her failing school; Alexis asks the girls if they would all be her bridesmaids. TJ surprises his mom with the news that he is now studying pre-med. Jason tells Sam that he has decided to try hypnosis to help him get his memory back.

Friday 01-22-2016
Jason confronts Elizabeth about the suspicion that she faked
the break-in; she implored him to believe her.
He concedes. Lulu is desperate
to fix things with Dante, but he is so angry, it doesn’t look possible; Laura
gives her best motherly advice and agrees to keep Rocco for a while. Dante shows up to talk. Dante tells Lulu he is going to talk to a
lawyer about a divorce; Lulu begs him for forgiveness, saying it was just the
thing with Valerie that made her crazy.
Dante tells her that Valerie ended things before New Years Eve; he resolves
that they have no chance of making it work – he tells her that he is going to
talk to a lawyer about getting a divorce.
Molly confides in Sam that she is failing school; bummer she didn’t
mention it a couple days earlier, before Sam spilled the beans to Alexis that
Molly was taking pre-law. Now her lie
is even more complicated. Carly
attempts to throw Jason a ‘birthday’ party; she is surprised when he isn’t
appreciative. Jason has a memory, after
a sudden downpour, about he and Sam in the rain. Nicholas asks Hayden to marry him. Sonny tries to stand up from his chair for the first time since
being paralyzed, and does.
Thusday 01-21-2016
Hayden and Nicholas are back to sleeping
together, apparently falling in love for real this time. Sonny was not impressed with the new
specialist that has been assigned to his case, since Patrick has moved away with
Robin and Emma. He was a pompous
asshole who was full of himself, and Sonny wasn’t having anything to do with
him. Elizabeth is not happy about Sam
being the private investigator in her case; but she agrees to let Sam look
around. Sam deduces that Elizabeth is
making it all up. Jason suspects she
may be right.
Ava is trying to make nice with Kiki; but Kiki is not really interested in giving her the time of day. Carly asks Ava for a favor – to allow Avery to spend extra time with Sonny, alone, without a supervisor; Kiki suggests that Ava not blow what good will they have built up by being civil and at least considering Carly’s request. Morgan talks to Sonny about feeling ‘flat,’ having no desire to get off of the couch because of the way the meds make him feel; Sonny explains that it takes time for the highs and lows to come back, but that they aren’t so extreme, just more leveled out. He tells him to hang in there; stresses that if he doesn’t take the medication he will have another breakdown. Morgan tells him he needs a purpose; Sonny offers to give him a job at the coffee warehouse.
Hayden is paying somebody off; apparently the guy, who found out that the bullet that shot her didn’t come from Shawn’s gun, has been blackmailing her. The commissioner comes to tell Nicholas that the charges against Jason have been dropped. Hayden is still planning something against Nicholas.

Olivia calls Julian to pick up the baby, telling
him that she has been arrested. Franco tells
Nina how happy he is right now; Nina questions how she will be able to follow
up the last issue of the magazine. Anna enlists the aid of the new psychologist
to develop a profile on Carlos. Felix
calls Sabrina to tell her that Michael wants her back, and tells her that Anna
is looking for her. Carlos tells her that talking to him was a bad idea. Kevin (a psychologist) tells Elizabeth that
he is concerned about her mental health (given her past history with mental breakdowns).
Olivia tries to apologize to the mayor for losing her temper, but the mayor only gets ugglier; Alexis to the rescue; she agrees to represent Olivia and announces that they are going to sue the mayor. Jake’s therapist recommends art therapy in addition to his counseling; Franco introduces himself to Jake. Nina is interviewed about the success of the green issue; she manages to make it look like she knows what she is doing; Julian’s news of Olivia’s arrest inspires her. Carlos talks Sabrina into throwing her phone away. Jason asks Sam to help him figure out what is going on at Elizabeth’s house; it doesn’t appear that anyone broke in. Jake accuses Sam of doing it.

Johnny Zacara is arrested, covers for Lulu. With Robin and Patrick gone, Sonny is told
that he has been assigned a new surgeon to oversee his case. He’s not happy about it. Olivia has a meeting with the mayor, but has
her baby with her; the mayor is annoyed by this alone, but when he gets hungry
and Olivia attempts to feed him, the mayor is terribly offended. She threatens to have Olivia arrested for
indecent exposure… Olivia stands her ground.
The argument gets heated. She
ends up getting arrested for a supposed assault on the mayor, when she
accidentally bumps the table as she stands up.
Nicholas’s accusations of Jason pushing him off the balcony are not
standing up – a witness has come forward that saw the whole thing. Nina is thrilled about sales for the last
issue (the green issue) of Crimson, which was almost a disaster, but turned out
to be a success due to her brilliant last minute idea to promote ‘going
green’. Anna asks Robert to help her
find Carlos. There appears to have been
a break-in at Elizabeth’s house.
Monday 01-18-2016
I’m still shaking my head at the fact that the writers had
Lulu – a sweet, kindhearted, quiet little girl (now young woman) – scheming
with Johnnie to ‘get rid’ of Valerie.
But here comes Lulu, bringing Johnnie’s stuff to him, and she sees the
barn on fire; thinking Johnnie is in there, she rushes to help. Standing right in the open doorway, she
looks at Valerie, tied to the chair (and fire, in areas, scattered around the
room… which is totally unreal, because it started from a single spot – where
she knocked the candle off the table, right next to her); nonetheless, Lulu
calls out to Valerie, as if that is going to do any good. No response. Valerie has passed out from smoke inhalation.
For some reason, Lulu just continues to stand there, telling
Valerie to wake up! Ok, stupid. Then she decides to go in… darting (not
really), she kicks aside a pile of something on fire, throws a blanket she
finds over Valerie’s head and starts to untie her legs from the chair. Why she doesn’t just grab the back of the
chair and drag it out of there Valerie and all, I don’t know; instead, she gets
her untied, tells her again to wake up, then slaps her across the face! When that doesn’t work, she pulls her out of
the chair, onto the floor – next to piles of burning rubble – and starts CHEST
COMPRESSIONS! Are you kidding me? Pushing on her chest and telling her to
breathe… OMG. Days made the same
mistake not too long ago; that’s why I started my blog for them.
Chest compressions are for restarting the heart once it has
quit beating; don’t we all know this?
You give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation when someone isn’t breathing! This is unbelievable… she is telling
Valerie, “I can’t drag you out by myself,” but why not? They are not far from the same size; Valerie
is only slightly taller. Oh, and there…
all of the sudden, Valerie just wakes up. That’s amazing. They make it out to safety.
Introduction
When I first
started watching General Hospital some thirty years ago, Luke and Laura’s was
the ultimate love story – the one that could never be torn apart. They were the ‘it’ couple; destined to be
together forever… right? Wrong. The writers have really ruined that
storyline (dragging it through the mud again and again over the years). Luke and Laura have gotten divorced,
married and divorced each other again, I believe, and have both married others
a time or two and since divorced them.
Luke is off on some other adventure, who-knows-where, finding himself,
after his most recent reappearance on the show and ensuing battle with
insanity. Laura is back as a regular
for now, helping Lulu through her separation from Dante – a more recent
generation “true love” story that they are now ripping to shreds. Can’t they let anyone stay together anymore?
On the flip side, Sonny and Carly are back together,
remarried for the fifth time, in the hospital this time after his shooting which
now has him paralyzed and in a wheelchair.
Those of us who know Sonny, know this won’t be the case for long – he is
one determined son of a bitch; it’s amazing how he has barely even changed over
the years. Even when they show
flashbacks, it’s almost impossible to see the thirty years of aging on his
face. What a gorgeous man.
Maxi and Nathan, newly united in the past year or so, seem
to have good things going for them – although they temporarily experimented
with a separation; more or less ‘wife-swapping’ with Elli and Spenelli for a
month or two – they seem to be meant for each other. The sexual chemistry is certainly there anyway. This is more than I can say about she and
Spenelli being together last year; I just had a hard time buying it. Now when they first got together, and were
‘unmarried’… I thought that was cute; I was a little upset when they ended
it. For those of you not familiar with
that era, I’m sorry, but I can’t help but reminisce. Anyway, you might not know
that’s how she ended up with baby Georgie.
Not from the time they were together, unmarried, but from a brief
encounter after that when Spenelli first met Elli and was conflicted about his
unresolved feelings for Maxie.
Franco and Nina are an item now – Nina was married to Silas,
who has recently been killed off the show (Kiki's father); Nina lost her mind a little bit after
waking up from a twenty-year coma and has since fallen in love with Franco, the
formerly-deranged-artist (now played by the same actor who used to play Todd on
One Life to Live, which has been a little hard for me to get used to). Anyway, they are pretty cute together; their
stint in the mental hospital, when Franco shot himself up with LSD so he could
be admitted with Nina, was amusingly touching.
They are both kind of child-like and go well together.
I know there are many other characters on the show, but I’m
not going to review everyone’s history here. Those of you who are not life-long viewers will just have to
catch up in time; in soap operas, history is always recounted. Every now and then, someone will have a
conversation about past events and sometimes they have flashbacks. This helps to fill-in-the-blanks for those
who are lost. I will try to help a
little too along the way, if you keep reading my blog; like I said, I love to
recall things when I can.
My purpose for writing this blog is truly to try to rekindle
old interest, and spark new interest in this show; I’ve been watching General
Hospital since I was 20 years old, having gotten ‘hooked’ while working in a law
office in Las Vegas, Nevada after my first divorce. Realizing what a soap opera my own life has been, I began
watching with intent; it intrigued me, some of the things that the writers
would do on this show…every now and then, catching me off-guard. They would
throw some totally unexpected obstacle in the path of some poor unsuspecting
individual (or couple) and then have them try to figure out how to overcome it.
It made me realize how much like life these soap operas
really are… as God throws one obstacle after another in our path and we try to
overcome it; some more than others.
Just like on this show, there seem to be those that trouble just follows
– the ones that just end up in the most unlikely situations. That’s me.
I’ve always said, if anything out of the ordinary can happen, it will
happen, to me. So, I guess, being a
writer, I was taken in by the thoughts of other writers and enjoyed the
challenge of ‘guessing’ where they were going with each storyline as the years
rolled by.
I have an alterior motive for writing this blog, though, I have to
admit; the writing for this show has been going downhill in recent years… and I
want to tell the writers that they ned to shape it up; so I will be bringing
attention to the stupidity that is being written into the storylines whenever
it happens (which it recently did). I
also used to watch One Life to Live and All My Children, which were both
cancelled in the past few years, much to my dismay. I enjoyed those stories as well and would hate for the same fate
to befall General Hospital (or my newfound second soap, Days of Our Lives…) so
my hope is to stir up curiosity among current generations, to get the writers
to pay more attention to detail and realism in their scripts, avoiding
stupidity wherever possible, and to build up the fan-base for GH, specifically,
so that it can remain on the air for generations to come.
My daughter watched with me for many years when she was
younger, and although she is a busy foster-mother these days, she loves to hear
updates from me, and I’m sure she will be reading my blog, and would enjoy watching again in her old age, if it is still on the air.
Mind you, I am busy too, even now; in my tenth year of college, seventh
year of graduate studies… working on a Doctoral degree in Pastoral Community
Counseling. Also, just published Part 1
of my book “A Letter to Heaven” now available in paperback – see links below (it’s only $11). I’ve been told it’s a pretty good read… actually, I’ve
heard “your book is amazing” from several people. So, just thought I would throw that out there.
Ok, on with my new GH blog!
